Woke up today with the radio dead on the latest Cyanogenmod. Wiped and reinstalled, still dead.
I tried a couple methods to flash the latest radio but nothing has worked.
I am still on CM11 with bootloader unlocked with S-On.
Any ideas?
Otherwise I'm about to head over to Verizon and get another phone.
Have you tried flashing a different rom? Did you recently do something before it stoped working? What do you mean by dead? Is it connected but dosent work, or is it noy connecting to the network at all?
You need s-off to flash radios, kernals, etc.

I was running a CM11 nightly for like 7 days with no issues. Woke up this morning and it just stopped connecting to the network entirely. I tried flashing stock Rom and nothing.
Well as stated above, you need to use firewater to get s-off, then you can flash the kk firmware. It may solve your problem, but it seems strange to work one day and not the next without changing anything. It could be hardware failure. What baseband (radio) version are you currently on?
No worries man I got a free warranty replacement and just got the GS5 today.

Flash back to a previous ROM where it worked to see if it's a problem with your firmware.
If the same thing happens, It's most likely a hardware problem I'm afraid

i have now this : RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_H3G_UK_1.26.771.2_Radio_1.1204.90.13H_release_251403_signed
and although and that one as well... RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.9_Radio_1.1204.103.14_release_256469_signed
bc im too thick ( ) do i have to relock the bootloader and than start reflash it or reflash it and relock it ?
i have tried to reflash it but it came up 155 error.. made a research and i found this " You need the flash the stock recovery, relock the bootloader and then run the RUU. That will return you to stock firmware. " nad that one too " No need to flash anything, just re-lock your device and run the RUU.exe. " so which way the best?
Hi all, Its been almost 2 years since i did an OTA update on my play and bricked it. Using the first patch that came out to fix this problem of phone not booting, i "destroyed" the bootloader or something or RadioRom and my phone does not accept any sim. it was originally unlocked.
Has anyone come up with a way to revive the play to make calls or something. cos its really depressing having a phone jus lying there wasting away, only to be brought out when needed for navigation or games.
Someone please helppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
Assuming your radio/sim is in working condition, I don't particularly see how bricking your phone can cause the phone to act like that. Have you tried flashing the stock firmware on again after it was bricked? And have you tried reunlocking the phone and putting on a custom rom/kernel?

about 2 years back, shortly after this phone came out, a problem was noted with OTA updates on unlocked bootloader.
The phone was bought "sim-free" or factory unlocked depending on which nomenclature is correct.
With an unlocked bootloader, the OTA update caused the phone to go dead.
in a haste to get the phone working again, a patch was released which broke the radio rom but got your phone to boot again. i believe the initial patch was released by BLAGUS.
well that killed my radio and now, no sim inserted works.
I reinstalled the stock firmware on it. tried several variants from different regions in the hope that it might work. was getting help from Wazz, Blagus and Bin4ry but seems they've moved on to more important projects now.
2 years ago, I would've brought my phone to the carrier. While your warranty would have been voided, you still should've been able to tell them that it is THEIR fault that it's not working since it was their OTA update that broke the phone. At the very least, they should've been able to get you a discount on a replacement Xperia Play, or at least I think they would have if they wanted to keep a happy customer.

Alright, I understand now. I wish I knew more, so I could help you out.
Was this the patch you used? I believe I used this ftf to relock my bootloader when my phone was bricked after I accepted an OTA update, just as you did. My radio never had any issues, though.. That said, my phone was sim-locked, since I have the R800x, so maybe that has something to do with it..
So I just got back from India, where I was using an Indian sim with my vzw HTC One. When I got back, I was getting signal, but no data. I could get 1x data if I manually switched the radio using an lte on/off app, but thats it.
So I RUU'd to 605.15 and LTE was working again. Then, after successfully running rumrunner, again, no data. Any idea what the problem is?
Pretty strange. Rumrunner should not affect data in any way. Have you tried to flash back to the stock recovery, and then do a factory reset? You are unlocked and s-off now right?

Yeah its strange. Mainly that data DOES work on untouched stock, but stops working after I s-off/unlock with rumrunner. I went to a verizon store and swapped the sim card, and this seems to have solved the problem. But I'm still curious why the problem occured in the first place.
These issues started with the upgrade to latest T-Mobile 4.3 software pack at the end of November. Phone operated perfectly before then. After the update, the phone would periodically not receive/place calls/texts/use data. The issue kept worsening daily. It is not related to the SIM card or location, as the card has been replaced and tested in an alternate phone where it performs perfectly.
The T999L was then consequently rooted, KNOX flagged (it's already past warranty, Samsung wouldn't give a rat's ass about it), flashed to CM11 M12 and later a variety of modems was tried. Same issues persisted. Restored to stock 4.1.2, same issues. Did 3 updates OTA to get to latest 4.3, same issues.
Messed around with 4636 menu, 2263 menu, etc. Some changes had a temporary result but nothing permanent. Calls to the phone are redirected to voicemail. When placing a call, it takes 5-10 seconds to either place it or disconnect it (as it can't connect to the network, I guess?). The bars on the phone show 3-4 bars typically, but the phone is rarely able to acquire a data connection. Again, this is not the case with other phones the SIM is tried on.
Any suggestions? I've spent probably close to 10 hours researching this and trying everything out and I am absolutely stumped. This is my mom's phone and a replacement Alcatel OneTouch Fierce 2 just "doesn't look nice", so I'm getting a fair bit of *****ing for trying to help solve this, even though it's not my fault. Would appreciate some help before Christmas.
Have you tried updating the modem?

I'd say so. Used this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880987 and flashed the 4.3 basebands for T999L and T999N, total of 3. I'm thinking this is something to do with the 4.3 bootloader or basebands... any methods to go back to 4.1.2 without a brick?

If you have a T999L stick to the designated T999L modems and nothing else, or you may damage the device. If you have a 4.3 bootloader there is no way back. Have you tried to use ODIN to flash the latest NF4 firmware for your T999L and then do a factory reset using the stock recovery? I posted NF4's link in this post. Good luck.

Downloading right now, and will test. Pretty sure this is the firmware update after which this problem started occurring.
Any other ideas for what might be affecting this besides baseband? I have a feeling something else might be causing this. I'm not familiar with Samsung partitions though and what is flashed by OTA/Odin.

Well, OTA updates can sometimes fail, that's why I gave you the ODIN firmware link. It's the best help I can offer.
One week ago I got sprint model (sm-g920p) used for one week with 0 problems,i decided to update marsmhallow 6.0.1 PB6.
I wasnt getting any ota updates even ota update wasnt in settings anyway.. so i updated through odin.
Everything was ok except service connection, no service,no data,no calls nothing. Tried search manually and auto but no luck. tried gsm or lte or cdma didnt work either. Did factory reset and network reset but no luck.
It supposed to be baseband or imei problem right?
I've checked them but imei and baseband was ok.. but no carrier.
I decided to install another roms and kernels but none of them worked either.
I am out of US zone but my phone is unlocked.
Right now I downgraded to 5.1.1 (OJ7) through odin and everything is ok right now. ( carrier service,3g,4g,lte, everything works fine.)
I am so frustrated and need help, am i missing something here?

There are issues with the data connection on some phones that get 6.0.1 with specific radio files.
Mine worked just fine after ODIN though.
That said, I installed the Renegade ROM, and have no issues with radio. You have the option of 2 kernels as well with that file, so you can choose your poison.

Anyway, now i am with stock 5.1.1 with unikernelv9.
Are you sure this is a kernel problem?
