I have two questions about N3 KK Kernal.
1) Which kernal for KK is the best to use
2) Which kernal provides regular charging when it powered down, IE not showing kernal not seadriod or hangs when the battery animation starts
One other inquiry, if installing KK on clean IE full wipe and install kernal and keeps on rebooting at samsung logo, any suggestions

1. That depends on what you want. I know a lot of people like lean kernel. I am using CivZ and have no issues, but I have yet to really start messing with it.
2. Someone with better knowledge will have to answer.
3. Your phone probably does not like that kernel, that or you got a bad download. Thus the bootloop.

They are not compatible... Most 4.4.2 kernels have to be on that bootloader. .. It's not recommended to use 4.4.2 kernel or rom on a 4.3 bootloader anyway. ..

For some odd reason I cannot flahs any custom kernels. Whenever I flash some rom, the included kernel will work just fine. But if I flash another one, like franco or matr1x, I end up in bootloop, or stucks at boot. Anyone else experienceing this behaviour?
You need to make sure you flash a kernel that is built for the version of android you are using.
For example ARHD 2.1.1 is 4.0.2 so you can not use the Matr1x v1.5 kernel because it is built for 4.0.3
Always read the OP before flashing, the info is there
Edit: messed up my version numbers

I have the same problem - no matter what kernel I use or how I try to install it I have yet to find one that will work with a stock version of ICS 4.0.2 on my phone - they always freeze at the boot screen, I don't get any further.
I have indeed checked versions before flashing.

[XXLE4]Issue with custom kernel - disturbing reboots
Hi everyone,
I am facing an huge issue that make me unable to flash any custom kernel without rebooting.
I though it was because brand new XXLE4 cannot support 1k+ frequencies or may be another things than I could not have been imagine because of my poor informatic and linux knowledges but it seems that i am just unable to flash custom kernel. only the original CF-ROOT doing his job but others aren't.
May be because of the SetCPU apps but it is less sure that the origin take his effect from that apps. It is a quit anoying because I would have been set my Scary 120 - 1350 to get an impressive battery life with the brand new UC-Kernel but seems to be a mirage for me.
I had got some custom roms but I can't just use them because I want an real free-bugs ROM an official release are the only one option for me and my usual usage.
Thanks in advance for the help provided and I apologies for my bad english.

4.0.2? I believe no custom kernels support 4.0.2 anymore. Updated/latest versions of said custom kernels at least. I think franco has a 4.0.4 version of his though i'm sure very few people are on 4.0.4, 4.0.2 is just a thing of the past.

I currently have a phone running PAC man ROM and the stock kernel it came with. Im looking for ANY kernel to run on this ROM that increases battery life and overclocks but everytime I install a kernel, they always successfully install but my phone boots up without the boot animation and leads to a blank screen. The lights work and I can hear the volume controls and notifications, but nothing ever comes on the screen. I did this for 3 different kernels with the same result. I usually just reflash the PACman rom and all is good. What could the problem be?

You could be installing the wrong kernel for your ROM. For example, the BMS kernel has a 3.0.x version and a 3.4.x version. With the PACman ROM, the 3.4.x version only works on the latest (4.3) nightlies, and the 3.0.x only works on the latest stable or 4.2 builds. That's the first thing I would check. Next, make sure you're flashing the correct kernel for your carrier (eg., d2spr, d2vzw, d2att, etc). But other than that, I don't know what could be causing your problems.

Damn I was gonna say that. I had the same problem.. I had a JTAG done cuz I goofed and I was on the LEN bootloader.
In case anyone doesn't know how to check:
Open terminal emulator
Type: su
Type: getprop ro.bootloader
the last three are your radio
eg. L710VMD4
This is the best way to check because sometimes(like my problem) under settings>about phone my baseband said md4 but my boot loader actually was LEN so when I tried flashing I got the same blank screen.

Hi, i searched everywhere in the AT&T section for a MIUI rom but only found a few which were stopped and had no new updates.
However i read somewhere on the forums here that you can use some n7105 roms in a i317 Note 2 Phone.
My question is, can i use the n7105 MIUI rom which was ported just 2 days ago?
If i cant, can someone point me in the right direction on using a newer version on MIUI on my Note 2 i317?
Thank you.
EDIT: I went ahead and installed the N7105 version but the phone wouldnt get past the XIOMI logo. I restored my phone back to the latest version found in the AT&T section 3.6.28.
Does anyone know how to get the n7105 version working? it was posted on the official MIUI forums 2 days ago and its the only version i have found that is n7105.
Or has anyone been able to install a newer version of MIUI? since it looks like the AT&T version has been discontinued.
The rom is fine ...but the kernel is likely putting you into a bootloop...
You may want to add another one in during the flash process that is compatible ...
I'd test neak kernel ....although not rated as compatible it may just work ...
And of course ...flash at your own risk ...and backup everything before hand ...g

Awesome, thanks for the reply.
Just to be sure, can i flash the kernel right after i flash the rom? or do i have to replace the boot.img inside the rom?
Edit: I tried flashing the neak kernel after the n7105 Rom but I got a black screen after the Samsung logo. I then tried other kernels (k.k.o, soa, and perseus) but they kept me in the miui logo. When I tried to change the boot.img manually into the zip I got a failed error when trying to flash the Rom.
If anyone can get a newer version of miui v5 to work on I317 note 2 please let me know how.
Thank You.
UPDATE: Anyone out there wanting to install the latest MIUI V5 into their Note 2 i317, i have found a way to do it.
For the past few days i have been on a hunt for a version that works with my phone and this is what i found.
Thanks to jing95916 who ported MIUI v5 to n7105, i went ahead and installed his latest port today a few people have problems with WIFI not turning on, but this is what i did.
After installing v 3.9.27 MIUI i let it boot, noticed wifi didnt work, but i remembered someone mentioning that it could be the kernel so i flashed SOA_4412_Kernel_06 found in the AT&T section under the MIUI 3.6.8 thread on post #1. Everything seems to be working perfectly so far, phone calls, SMS, wifi. Though there is one thing i noticed, on that when you flip screens it leaves behind a trail right on the Dock, it goes away when you switch to settings but comes back unless you have a transition effect that doesnt overlap the dock like the crossfade one. Other than that everything else seems to be working fine. I will continue to test the rom and see if i can find any other problems, but for now im very happy thnx to jing95916 port!

But with your boot loops ...I'm wondering if you are wiping correctly ??
And verify that your files are compatible with the device ...g

The problem i had was a different version, the one ported by jing95916 works perfectly in my i317 note 2 even though his port is for n7105. So everything is all good now, pretty happy to be using the latest MIUI rom.
Hey guys I was wondering if any of yall have managed to get your Note 2 working without issues with Note 3 apps. I've seen the DN3 and MOD KV threads but it seems to only apply to the international Note 2.
If any of y'all have, could you help me do it? Would any ROM that does Note 3 apps require me to remove the 4.1.2 Bootloader which am still on and if so, can I go back to 4.1.2 when I'm about to sell my Note 2?
Im running DN3 on my T889 with 4.1.2 bootloader.
Flash DN3 3.1.1 in your recovery (read DN3 OP on how to flash)
Let it boot up.
Reboot into recovery and flash either Devil Kernel or AGNi Kernel (see their threads)
And also flash the T889 MK7 Modem
Clear Cache and dalvik-cache
Reboot.

THANKS!! Can you still receive updates for apps bought on the play store?
What is DN3 based on? is it 4.3 and is it light weight? do you still retain T mobile wifi calling and visual voicemail?

Yes apps update on the playstore...evem the Samsung ones.
Its is based on 4.3 Not light weight it uses more Ram than a T mobile 4.3 Rom because it uses more resources to get the Note3 stuff to work.
No wifi calling or VV because it is not a Tmobile Rom. You might be able to download VV from the Playstore...I dont use it so im not sure.

so worse battery peformance or has it stayed the same, not that it will stop me from getting it. The benefits of Quick Memo far outweigh it lol
Well im using Devil Kernel 2.3.2 and I changed the governor to lulzactiveq and I've been experiencing better battery life.
Its up to you on which kernel to use. If you do use Devil then download Devil Tools app from the playstore.

I recently updated my N7105 to the recent 4.4.2 Nordic ROM ( n7105xxufnd3 )that was floating round that tripped my Knox, which I dont care about.
When i got sick of the updates abysmal battery life i flashed the latest stable release of CM for the GNII LTE a 4.3 based ROM with out issues.
But I'd like to know if i can revert back to my original ROM i.e. WanamLite MC3 V1.3, a TW 4.1.2 based ROM, for its spen support, battery life, atpx and boeffla sound support (im a big music listener) w/ Wanam's Adam Kernel.
Can i do this with out running into any issues, despite the gap between a 4.4.2 boot-loader (as I've been told i cant roll-back from this version) to a TW 4.1.2 ROM?
Thanks in advance guys

Based from what I remember, devs say that when you are with KK BL (ND3), you cannot flash a stock rom lower than it and the lowest custom rom that you can flash is 4.3.
Is there anyway i can flash an older bootloader? and/or is there a similar ROM to Wanam's that uses 4.3 as its base?
As awesome as CM is, there are touchwiz features specific to the note series that are hard to implement on CM/ASOP based ROMS :/

Do not try to install anything lower as it will break device. I'm sorry, I know nothing about wanam lite.
I have a unrooted note 2, manually installed 4.4.2 as 4.3 had major battery issues.
Things got worse for me in 4.4.2 nordic countries and I went and downloaded the offical roms from sammobile and am now back on 4.1.1 offical.
It can be done.

Wow, I thought once you are in a higher bootloader, you cannot install a lower one. No problems at all?
I'm sorry if I gave out wrong info, that was how I knew it was.
I have no issues at all.
Apart from missing out on features from 4.1.2 and above everything works as if I didnt update the device at all.
I would not do a restore from higher up android versions but if you start feom scratch its all good.
And I can say my zero lemon battery is working at it should be, I now have days worth of battery life.
I'm getting invalid kernel/ ramdisk size error on bootloader screen. This is the first time I got this error while entering recovery screen. I'm don't know much about this. Please help.

Sorry champ but this threqd is for a galaxy note 2 specifically a gt7105 and has installed a samsung stock rom, I have done this and have gone back to 4.1.1 but seeing as you have a rooted romed moto x it is out of my league.
I dare say this process is incompatible with the moto x and seeing as you can get into recovery or cwm or what ever its called you can still flash a rom with the relavent bootloader that was previous to your dilemma
