Dear readers,
I am expecting my HTC One M8 the coming days. But I heard it could potentially be branden by Vodafone. Is there anyway to unbrand? Or can I just root the phone, install custom recovery and install a custom rom and its done?
Thanks in advance!

Yep that's pretty much it
That's great news! Nobody wants to have their phone filled with bloatware
What's a good custom ROM that removes the Vodafone branding and will receive OTA updates from HTC please?
I've heard of the Google Play Edition ROM but can one have Sense on that?
Thanks.
No official updates with custom roms, if you want a fully stock HTC one m8, the only way is S-OFF, super CID and flash HTC 's stock firmware, stock rom, stock recovery, and change your CID to the one from your country ?

Hi,
Thanks again for the reply.
My understanding from what you said previously is below.
If I want a fully stock HTC one m8, the only way is:
S-OFF (done)
Super CID (done)
Fash HTC 's stock firmware (done)
Flash with stock rom (not done. I think I'll go deodexed),
Flash with stock recovery, (not done. Downloaded)
Change your CID to the one from your country. (not done)
Downloads from http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.co.uk/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html
Is that correct please?

Deodexed = No OTA updates
Yep good but I don't know if it'll work with deodex, I think that stock Rom is odexed... But try and share, if it doesn't work you know what to do

Thanks to you both.
I've now done all that
S-OFF (done)
Super CID (done)
Fash HTC 's stock firmware (done)
Flash with stock rom (done. odexed),
Flash with stock recovery, (not done. Downloaded)
Change your CID to the one from your country. (done. HTC__001)
However, I've read something about needing to change the MID as well. Does this apply?
C:\adb>fastboot getvar mid
mid: 0P6B10000
finished. total time: 0.002s
C:\adb>fastboot getvar mid
mid: 0P6B10000
finished. total time: 0.002s
Also, while I was on SuperCID (and until now), the 1.54.161.10 system update has been waiting to download OTA.
I thought I wasn't supposed to get OTA updates with SuperCID.
Thanks.

Hi,
You can update flashing the good kdz (follow the "go back to stock“ tuto) and re-root. Using the same method as before.
You just have to download the good system.img.
You won't loose anything. During this process.

You can downgrade to KitKat (it worked for me) but it will wipe your phone automatically.

how to downgrade ?? Thanks
You download the firmware with SamFirm because you can create a 4 file firmware and you use Odin and uncheck auto reboot. Normally everything should work correctly if not make a nandroid backup before flashing. In case that the downgrade fails, you will have to flash TWRP and restore the nandroid backup you made earlier. When doing the backup be careful to store on a micros card otherwise the update will be removed. I will try to make a video later this week.

You can flash it with the sammobile firmware .. it is working perfectly. . I haven't faced any problem till date..
downgrade rom
Just download the lower version rom from sammobile(firmware) . use odin to flash rom, add the rom to AP/PDA wait till it load then start the process. when the phone restarts wait for 5-8 min as it takes time to load first time.
here your rom is downgraded!
I need to downgrade a Note 3 Neo from 5.1.1 to 4.4.2, but I wanna ask first if I need to flash unlocked bootloader and modem first and then Sammobile ROM? And if "Yes", where I can find unlocked bootloader for 4.4.2?
Hi,
I am looking for any solution on my note 7.
Here's the problem:
after i successfully installed hydra custom rom, I decided to insert a sim card then the phone reboots. After that, phone display custom rom binary blocked by FRP. It also blocked accessing the TWRP.
I tried several flashes of stock 4 firware but it will prompt to device fail kernel.
hoping someone will help regarding with this.
thanks.

I can help you recover your note 7. You need the current firmware that was before in your phone. What was the battery pourcentage before you installed hydra rom?

So you need the 60% firmware. You can't downgrade to 100% firmware. You need to flash this firmware begin by: N930FXXU2. mine is N930FXXU2BPI7
