I have been running Synergy RLS1 for a few months now pretty successfully. The only issue I have with this ROM is that it becomes sluggish at times and the battery drains very quickly.
I would like to find a new ROM to flash as Synergy has reached the end of its development AFAIK, but I have so far found it difficult to locate one in which everything works, like it has in Synergy. There are so many ROMs out there, it's tough to research them all. I would like some suggestions.
My requirements:
Android 2.3.5 or higher
Sense 3.5 (Sense 3.0 is fine if it is highly stable and fast)
wifi, 3g, usb & camera working (4g not necessary)
Imo the best rom ive been on has been miui is fast and smooth ,however,i had loads of iisues with gps so i switched to cm7 and fell inlove this rom is super fast stable and everything works besides 4g i think .now i am on eternity efected rom and i dont think ill go back to another rom lol .no 4g but in my area i barely have any so its all good .i did not like syenery with god mode but again thats my opinion .try cm7 or eternity by virus .good luck
A couple suggestions.....if u want stability speed and a frequently updated Rom try mikg 3.0. Very much like synergy in that it is sense 2.1 + 3. Way better than synergy however.....aamikam is a really top notch dev.
If u must have sense 3.5 go for vin's r3mix. He's also a very active dev as far as sense 3.5 goes, its extremely quick. Still though, any 3.5 Rom is gonna have issues.

I have researched this ROM as well and it looks great. The only issue here is no Sense. Since I am a very visual aesthetics oriented person, I do prefer the eye-candy of Sense.

Hmm interesting suggestion. In your opinion, what makes this ROM better than Synergy? If I am to stay with a Sense 2.1 + 3 ROM, than I would be interested if it performed better.

Mikg has been way furthur developed. Synergy stopped over the summer and since then there have been some cool new features like the insanse amount of stuff in miktweaks. It is actively developed and the forum at themikmik.com is awesome. Super friendly peeps, lots of themes, mods, etc. Mik is also the master at optimizing everything for a super snappy rom that doesn't seem to get "bogged down" over time.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have narrowed it down to 2 ROMS. MikG Sense 2.1 + 3 v3.0 and Team-Nocturnal Shooter Port for HTC EVO 4G. Of the two, the MikG ROM seems to be the more stable, full featured & most supported. The Shooter ROM however has Android version 2.3.5, for which I like a few of the changes since 2.3.3
This is for a friend who has a Desire HD.
He had cyanogenmod for a while but an earlier buggier version.
He's now sick of it, and ready to move to an iphone.
I'm looking for a perfectly stable ROM with ICS if possible.
Recommendations?

u can definitely recommend miui(gb) or the primo-s by proxuser(ics)
Ice Cold Sandwich is a great rom. Been using it for a few months and all the instability and other issues have been pretty much ironed out by now. I believe it's one of the more popular ICS roms for the desire
Rom stability has alot to do with the device and the user. So it will be alot of trial and error. ICS will have bugs until we get the source and an update from HTC. A search would have told you this.

Best ROM?... You decide which is best for you... err your friend... Go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318 to see them listed.
Enjoy!
Tell us a bit about what kind of experience does your friend need?
Speed? Customization? Stability?
he has the stock rom on his phone... i think he wants a full fixed rom with more smooth and speed than stock! thanks!
ps. what's the way to flash rom on this phone? =)
Well, everything is better than stock, believe me! It's a matter of choice, but more ppl prefer Cyanogen, because it's a who organisation of developers and many hours of hard work behind it, it sure is pretty complete. I'd suggest taht, but he shoudl check out all of the available roms, as danny said, it's a matter of choice.
First of all, you have to decide if you want Sence rom or something else.
The best sence rom is probably RemPuzzleRom, its faster, but it looks nearly the same as stock.
other good option is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1458749 i've tried it and it is really fast and stable, looks like vanilla android 2.3.7, there is also stock android launcher.
Cyanogen is also really great rom. Fast, stable and customization is the best.
If you want something on the edge. I'm using CM9 right now. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473344 I thing it is pretty usable, but there might be still some bugs.
Come On People, I want to here your experiences with the roms that suit DHDs, What your favourite is, even better why its your favourite???

I want everyones opinion on there "favourite rom" for the DHD, in one thread! Make it easy to choose between and to get an idea on why each rom best suits there needs in one place! I seem to be able to find this but over 30 different threads! why not make it easy I say!! Hopefully the man in the black cape can see the dilemma

I HAVE TRIED LEEDROID, I DIDN'T MIND THE ROM AT ALL WAS SMOOTH, I ENDED UP WITH ANDROID.PROCESS PORBLEMS IN THE END WITH CONTACTS, HTC SYNC AND THE DAILER
I am using Runny Xtreme Surprise - v3.0.0, had it for a while, and it is smooth, and battery is good too
But I am looking at changing, created a few to many bugs messing with settings from rom market apps, Have to reinstall rom, decided on a change! Something just as smooth but with more options with the settings

Before Virtuous Team released their 3.0 kernel, there was no much choice for me but to go for gingerbread.
Image quality is an important factor for me when flashing a ROM and AOSP/AOKP versions never succeed
to satisfy me. Perhaps it's the camera-chip but when using, for example, LC's IceColdSandwich my images
have a lot of noise, blurriness and shakiness (same for other ICS ROMs). Touch-to-focus is something I
cannot live without as well and best support for that is found from Sense 3.5 Camera application.
Now that I have an option of going for full Sense 4.0 with a working camera, that's what is most likely
to become my new "number one". If you like your UI to be 'fluid' and fast-responding, you might not want
to install the Virtuous Infinity just yet but wait it to proceed to beta-stage. ICS is just awesome when you get
the full Sense experience with it! Among Sense 3.0-3.5 ROMs mike's ARHD with RC3D-tweaks is my
absolute favorite. It is the smoothest Sense ROM around and has awesome performance.
What comes to nonsense (he he) ROMs: I've tried quite a few of them, but the features (such as camera)
arejust not as rich as with Sense. Surely you get a better performance but for what? If you don't run on MIUI,
you phone will very likely end up looking pretty ugly with all the old version of apps and launchers from
wherever. MIUI looks nice but I don't like the apple concept, which means no appdrawer and eyecandy over
usability. If you don't mind great looking themes and like the idea of downloading an appdrawer from the
store, MIUI might be the thing.
To make it short:
Virtuous Infinity Alpha1 if you want the full Sense 4.0 with a working camera but don't mind little lagginess.
Android Revolution HD if you're not so much into ICS and like to have a good performance and response.
MIUI if you like your device to look good, not to drain too much battery, and to feel like an apple product.
IceColdSandwich if you want a fast, reliable and finished ICS ROM with stock look and a plain camera.
Hope this is any help to you. Happy flashing!

I have downloaded Coredroid to try (I think battery power might be an issue there)
also downloaded Energized
I agree I wouldn't install a rom without all features working, Well I reckon I'll give the ICS ago at least see how she blows!!! If its not my cup of tea, I like your idea on the Android Revolution HD,

I tried Revolution HD on my DHD since lunch time today, and I have to agree that its simple and is powerful, battery good too! I'm intrigued, not sold! Does anyone else have the same thought, that the settings in notifications would be much better with a lot more settings and with the shortcut when you press and hold down a setting in notifications, it takes you through to contols of that function in the main settings!
Something so simple yet saves so much time! I find that odd, I am hoping 7.0.4 isn't the most recent version, haha, besides that, so far impressed by Revolution HD, seems great

LOL teichopsia why you scaring the guy for
OP, just flash the ROMs you think would be the best for you. Generally people start with Cyanogenmod and go from there. Try the BlackICE ROM, it's pretty cool for a GB ROM. Ice Cold sandwich is the best is ROM at the moment. Or, if you're like me and want to have the breeding edge software, JellyTime is Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.1) which even the GS3 doesn't have yet (although the ROM does have one or two quirks to it

Well Seems I may have missed one during my cleaning.
Ok OP the reason no one can give a straight answer is because there really isnt one. Each device will work differently even when running the same rom. This is due to personal apps and set ups. Not to mention the different hardware in each device. Not all devices are made equally. The best advice you will get is to find a few that you think look good (lmao) and try each one out for a few days. Then before you try a new one make a nandroid backup so you can easily go back. Then make up your own mind on what is the best rom for you.
Just remember to to read the thread a bit for any issues you may come across.
Hello!
Since i rooted my HTC Desire (~1 year) I've been using MIUI Marange (formerly MIUI_AU) but it became really slow and unstable for me. I was searching around roms, but this is too much to handle for me as I'm not a pro
Please can you recommend me a:
-stylish
-stable
-atleast andorid 4.0
-A2SD
-if sense then 4.0, too
if my details are impossibe, say it then i can lower my standards
(and no Cyanogenmod please. I don't like it)

First and foremost are you CDMA or GSM...There is loads of AWESOME development for GSM, not quite as much for CDMA but still good
Also check out this for a reference:

Stylish- hard to say, all depends on preference, any of them really...
Stable- oxygeN http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1743584

A2SD- Most now...just look through that reference link...
I agree about CyanogenMod...Awesome devs, but feels a little sluggish on the bravo...
Best all around Rom *drumroll*
OXYGEN ZM, by FAR! :victory: :good:
Most stable by far, fastest by light years, no bugs known! (And it doesn't look half bad with ADW or something of the sorts)
This is my personal experience, I have flashed all the roms listed above, and this is solely my opinion
PS: Lots of ROMS are great when overclocked, but to me draining your battery to no limit, just to make a ROM a little smoother is not how it should be...neat tool, but shouldn't be a necessity to live with a ROM
