@Mazer.one...Very nice animation...I made about 50 for the Acer A500 and started a thread there which grew rapidly as people weighed in with their contributions...I looked inside Motorola's stock animation (not the latest one they have just uploaded, the one with the world spinning) and saw that in contrast to most Android animations where multiple frames of jpg's or png's are used, they have used mp4 files... most odd I thought.

i did not use an app or program to create cwm flashable.zip,
i just used winrar for compress/decompress, edit script and add files that i wanted to flash.

I realize that this is an old thread and apologize for bumping it back to the top. But I tried loading the bootanimation and it did not work for me. So I am sure I am loading it incorrectly.
Is this zip file flashed via TWRP/CWM, or, fastboot flashed, or just added to the /system/media folder and the original renamed?
I really like these and would like to use them on my XT1045. Thanks

B1. Download Splash Tools

B2. Because Splash Tools only support Defy so if you use Defy+ you must change ID to MB525 (not need if use Defy)
- Use Rom toolbox or build.prop Editor for change ro.product.model to MB525
- Reboot device
B3. Make a file .RAW, size 480x182 px (You can use Photoshop to make it. Just open image, resize to 480x182px and save as .raw)

B4. Copy file .RAW into phone and use Splash Tools change boot logo
B5. Reboot phone and you can see changed logo

The GIF says "lisiting" instead of "listing", maybe that's been corrected. More sensors are listed in a recent (yesterday!) thread, but I don't know if those would actually be initialized at startup. BTW, what does IR stand for? (can't be infrared!)

You must set permissions
If you use es file explorer: select zip > properties > permissions > change
I'd like to see a version of this made for xt1031 CDMA 8G Boost Mobile model...

I tested the procedure on this thread under OnePlusOne forum and it works well to my Find 7a. With this procedure you can modify your own bootlogo and fastboot image.

HOW TO INSTALL BOOT ANIMATIONS
ROOT ACCESS NEEDED
1. Download root explorer ( Es file explorer will be better)
2. Enable root explorer, then go to system/media your current boot animation will be there. rename it to bootanimation.zip.bak ( we'll use it as a backup) or use an app called bootbox to make a flashable boot animation backup
3' Go to the directory where you have Downloaded the boot animation, rename it to bootanimation.zip and then paste it to system/media, then go to properties and change it perrmission to rw-r-r.
4. Reboot and Enjoy!

That stock Moto animation of the globe is a nice one. Last year when it came out on some devices I did some media editing and filtering to change white background to black and slow down the motion in an MP4 video of the animation then converted it back into a boot animation. I cant/wont share this boot animation because it is a bit irregular and might not work on all devices but as proof of concept here is a gif of it.

Last year when it came out on some devices I did some media editing and filtering to change white background to black and slow down the motion in an MP4 video of the animation then converted it back into a boot animation. I cant/wont share this boot animation because it is a bit irregular and might not work on all devices but as proof of concept here is a gif of it.

If you are talking about creating a boot animation from that GIF and posting it, please don't do that as it is a custom piece. If it were ready to be shared that way I would not have converted it to a gif. I'll work on sharing the original which is better than the gif anyhow.
