[Q] XDA M8 Variations?!

Wow... I just took a look and there are now five different forums for the M8s?! (M8, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile)
This is starting to bug me because I don't know where I should be tracking. Why are we segregating everyone?
Is this necessary and if so, where do the Canadians fit in then since our M8 is technically a 'variation' as well?

Also, should us Canucks be in the AT&T M8 forum or this one?

This one.. there shouldn't even be an AT&T forum.

According to Turge, Canadians would fit in the main M8 forum. Then what about the international M8s like in Taiwan, etc.?
*extremely confused at this point*

[Q] sim related question about the htc one m8

If I buy a i buy the atnt one m8 is it possible for me to unlock it and use another SIM card ?
Would there be any issues ?
BTW I stay in India .... I already own the one m8 but I wanted to gift one to my sister too..... So I was wondering if it was psossible for me to get the one from the black Friday sale on amazon
You will have to buy an unlock code from eBay and make sure it supports at&t m8 and the unlocker will give you the code if your not in the USA

Where to buy Google Pixel XL in New York

Hi,
Going to New York next week, and was wondering if anyone knows where to buy an _unlocked_ Google Pixel XL in New York?
Looks like Best Buy only sells the Pixel with subscription. Since I don't live in the US that is not an option.
Thanks
/Jo Christian

Be aware that the radio bands are different between the US version and the international version.

Hi,
Yes I'm aware of the differences in the radio band. But I have done some research and it does not seem to be an big issue here in Norway.

You can purchase from Best Buy without a contract. Be aware that the bootloader is unlockable if it's on 7.1.1.
And if you can find one in stock.
I'm in the same situation
Hi Jo Christian,
I'm in the same situation, I'll be for one week in NYC and I'd like to buy a Google Pixel XL 128GB, but I'm worried to don't find this device on the city when I arrive. Do you reached a solution?
Thanks

You will not find the Google version in any stores. The Verizon version will be at the Verizon stores and Best Buy. They will most probably be bootloader locked.

What do you mean with bootloader locked? What's it stop me to do?

It stops you from rooting it and flashing custom ROMs and mods.

According to the frequency band chart, the device is 100% compatible on all bands using O2.....
Take a look at this page I've located....including the APN settings information.
https://apn-uk.gishan.net/en/device/htc-one-m9
You should be good based on the correct APN settings....g

Good find, except it doesn't specifically answer the question.
I know these phones work in the UK its just whether I need a different Radio.
Thanks
Right, the Unlocked/Developer edition will not update the software...I've been down this road before.
Once again I have bought a counterfeit M9, this time from Amazon...
And once again no one cares...
Meanwhile I still haven't got a mobile phone.
Anyone now where I can buy and original HTC M9 in the UK please?

Oh no !!
This is twice ??
Amazon will take it back....if you claim warranty against it.....especially if you are beyond the 30 day return window.
I had a camera that I bought last year that was a sony clone....and at 45 days out I sent it back under warranty...
I sent them an email and explained....then they issued an RMA..
I bid you good luck !!!...g

Just spoken to HTC, thankfully this one is not a counterfeit....
BUT
It is meant for the American market, which means it wont work in this country!!!
I've never had so much trouble buying a phone.
So I have given up with HTC and am buying a Sony as I can get a free PS4 with it!!
I would be mad not to!!

Which HTC 10 variant to get, that can be S-OFF with app and doesn't require mail in

Hello all,
I am about to pull the plug on Verizon HTC 10 since they are cheap and have great DAC support.
Can't do Unlocked, as it's pretty expensive.
Mailing in to Sunshine is out of question, as it's unrealistic/impossible where I am located.
From the US carriers, which should should be my best bet, considering S-OFF support or any other features? Would be using it with GSM service in Asia.
Please help fast.

I'm not sure what the question is, since you say you're getting a Verizon 10 but then also ask about other carriers.
Verizon 10 can only be S-off by mailing it in.
Why not get an international model, and buy an S-off licence?
