[Q] XDA M8 Variations?! - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Wow... I just took a look and there are now five different forums for the M8s?! (M8, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile)
This is starting to bug me because I don't know where I should be tracking. Why are we segregating everyone?
Is this necessary and if so, where do the Canadians fit in then since our M8 is technically a 'variation' as well?

This one.. there shouldn't even be an AT&T forum.

According to Turge, Canadians would fit in the main M8 forum. Then what about the international M8s like in Taiwan, etc.?
*extremely confused at this point*

[Q] International VS att HTC ONE X?

Hey Guys,
I am so excited to get hTC one X but I am really confused between the international and the att one
some would argue that dual-core snapdragon S4 is even better than T3 and vice versa .. any idea?
here why I am confused:
one x international: T3 better than S4?, will get upgrades b4 att,
one x att: S4 better than T3?, comes with warranty, cheaper (550$ VS 640$ for international)
my big concern is actually the warranty! 90$ is no big deal
to me, I don't care about the 16 VS 32 Gb or radio or even 4G!
so anyone to help me out?

I would think the international One X will have a better development crowd. That was the main reason I ordered the international model.

International version. For some reason development on cdma/lte phones is very slow. There's something about the configuration that makes things immensely complicated. Even Google stopped supporting the cdma Nexus devices.
Plus you can travel abroad with the international version.

I think the main reason development is slow on CDMA phones is that they're really only used in the United States. There simply is enough devs able to work with them. You have a good point about the international version though; you can take it traveling and pop any sim that uses the appropriate frequencies.
what about the warranty guys?
does it worth going with att htc one x for the warranty since international one doesn't come with any warranty?!

Both AT&T and INTL models have the same 3G support, only difference being the addition of the 4G radio. No major biggie here.
I'm in a postition to get the XL from my local 4G provider (Telstra in Australia, when they release it) but chose to get the INTL OneX from a dev perspective. Much larger dev crowd and earlier overall release. Look at the AT&T forum - dead! Yes it's only very early days there, but people were posting all over the INTL OneX forum well before it was available.
M.
i bought mine in europe and i have 1 year of warranty
ATT has a duel core version. INT has a quad core version
INT has 32gb of storage plus a extra 25gb from drop box . ATT has 16gb n no word on drop box offering 25gb
ATT has a LTE Radio inside which will be a battery killer. The INT just has a HSPA+ radio
INT version is everywhere so it will have a much bigger development than the US version
I just bought a international version n hope to have it tommrow.. the only big difference is the LTE radio.
Samsung had change the processor on the Galaxy Note and it has no problems
If support is such a big deal to you than stay with the ATT version and pay 4$ a month or w/e if your phone get lost or stolen or damage ..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
32 gb vs 16 is the main reason to chose the int. that and the AT&T box sux.

this is not the case in the US!
to get international version of the 1 x, u should buy it from amazon or ebay ..etc without warranty (well, ebay provide warranty from 3rd party for 89.99$)
international version is better in my opinion.
THIS ARTICLE will help. It compares the Tegra 3 powered One X to the Snapdragon S4 powered One S.
Unless you need 4G, the international version should come out on top benchmark wise.
If you check out Engadget's review of the LTE One X it is actually superior in most benchmarks because of the Snapdragon S4.

Flash stock rom from another region?

I received my one x from Singapore today, and it works great. I'm curious, though, is it possible to flash a stock rom from somewhere else in the world (the UK maybe) onto it? Are the radio firmwares from other places in the world any better for AT&T US than the stocker?
--Matt
very interested in knowing the same thing. In fact my phone was messed with when i bought it but i'm told it was from singapore originally can someone tell me how to find out where it's from. And I'd like stock rom from other places if possible.
No, its not possible. You have to flash only the RUU which has the CID number matching your device. Every device released on to your country will have a common CID.
@op, Is your device from At&t, if so it wasn't one x, its a one xl just named as AT&T one x. Differed in the processor s4 and tegra3.

To find out where it's from get the CID and google it. You can narrow it down which region is your phone from.

[Q] Which tab s 10.5 to get?

I have decided to pull the trigger on a galaxy tab s 10.5 but don't know which model to get. I want the exynos with lte that works on at&t. Is there a model that has both the exynos and lte support for AT&T, or should I purchase the tablet directly from AT&T? Root is also a concern my note edge is AT&T and has no root in sight due to locked bootloader. I want to order the model that has it all. Any input is appreciated.
I have the T-807 on VZW and there is no root method for my tab, so I'd say avoid the T-807 if root is something important to you. The 807 (for some reason) in the fastest and smoother of those I have played with tho

Yup they only ship to the UK strangely considering the tab comes from Hong Kong. I might just settle for the T-Mobile version. I wonder if the performance is much different between the snapdragon and exynos. I really want the 32gb one but no GSM support, hopefully lollipop update comes soon enough and I can write whatever app data I want to SD card.
OK now I feel stupid, I assumed that all of the US carriers would have the snapdragon version just like all US Samsung phones, but according to T-Mobile and AT&T sites both are the exynos versions. I will be getting the T-Mobile version so bootloader will be unlocked and root/custom recovery will be easier to obtain. Thanks for the input.

Where to buy Google Pixel XL in New York

Hi,
Going to New York next week, and was wondering if anyone knows where to buy an _unlocked_ Google Pixel XL in New York?
Looks like Best Buy only sells the Pixel with subscription. Since I don't live in the US that is not an option.
Thanks
/Jo Christian

Hi,
Yes I'm aware of the differences in the radio band. But I have done some research and it does not seem to be an big issue here in Norway.

You can purchase from Best Buy without a contract. Be aware that the bootloader is unlockable if it's on 7.1.1.
And if you can find one in stock.

You will not find the Google version in any stores. The Verizon version will be at the Verizon stores and Best Buy. They will most probably be bootloader locked.

It stops you from rooting it and flashing custom ROMs and mods.
