I have 2 yahoo accounts and another school account that I would use the mail app for. Gmail works great. I have tried the SlideM rom and now im using the Slideme rom and the problem still persist. does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? any way to fix this?

It might possibly that the accounts are captcha locked, i had this happen to my gmail account and go here for gmail idk about yahoo. But they might have something familar.
You can either download the yahoo mail app from the market or you can look in the g1 development forum and there's a guide to set back up your yahoo mail account. Its all up to you but yes that does suck that once I rooted my mytouch I lost my yahoo mail.
Awesome news folks. Hotmail activesync finally works for me here on EVO 3.70 email program. Email/Contacts/Calendar working fine. Thank goodness. Now all we need is multiple exchange support and we will finally be up to par.
What setting did you use, are you on the stock app? Still cant get mine to work, thx in advance!

Really? Im using the stock email app.
Set Server as m.hotmail.com
username: [email protected] (or live or msn or whatever)
password: xxx whatever yours is
Dont set domain
Set SSL on and accept all ssl certs.
Working great for me. Slow to download contacts at first but works fine afterwards.
Does it push or just periodically check for new mail?

Does HTML work for you? I was able to sync but message format is greyed out with "plain text" selected.

I still get "Failed to create the account. Please try again later." I also never see an option to accept all SSL certificates.
What does the 3.70 refer to? My stock mail app from HTC is v2? NM, I figured out that 3.70 is the overall software load.
Thanks,

I don't know if it made a difference but I stopped the app and cleared the cache and it created the account and synced the first time. I did not see an option for "accept all SSL certificates".
THANKS OP!!!

Worked for me too, no html though. Shucks, thx anyway!
Didn't work for me, I still get the failed to create account error. This is getting pretty annoying. I've seen some other posts that people have had success with using another email client besides the stock one so I guess it's time to look around for a third party email app.

I have been using 'Improved Email'. Even though I got the stock app to work, I will probably keep using Improved Email as it allows me to check multiple emails for deletion. Neither app currently displays HTML emails.

It works fine for me, thanks for the heads up.
Hi all,
I have an Optimus G and all is going well except for exchange integration. I configured the System Settings->Accounts & Sync as follows:
[email protected]
password
domain\username
mail.server.com
domain
Use SSL -> checked
I get past the next two screens and see a TOAST popup that says: "Server is not available. Please try again later."
The same settings worked on my Samsung Captivate running Cyanogenmod 7 and beyond over the last two years, right up to a nightly from a week ago. AFAICT, this issue is isolated to my LG phone and LG's implementation of Exchange accounts.
I tried other apps like Divide, MailDroid, etc., and they all work - but I want my work calendar via Business Calendar or the stock Calendar app, and I cannot find a way to get an Exchange account to work on the phone natively.
I've spent hours on Google and testing apps, all with no luck. It's the curse of buying a brand new phone, I suppose.
Any ideas?
Check your exchange email for devices.. if you flash a lot, each time you set up the email it will count your device as 1..I know the email won't accept more than 10 devices

Good thought - but the list only has a few attempts from various apps I've tried, and I've been clearing it regularly. The only attempt that apparently NEVER showed up in the list is when I tried to use the included Exchange account setup (the one that keeps failing). It's like it gets right to the last step and then gets rejected.
I recently moved from a Desire Z to the Optimus G. On Gingerbread or any ICS Roms on the Desire Z, simply putting mail.domainname.com worked for me. However, I had the same problem you are using when attempting to add my school's exchange server to the phone. I worked around it by using exchange.domainname.com instead of mail.domainname.com. I recommend that you try doing this.
Once I input that as the server name (username was [email protected] and so was email address), everything worked.
Hope it helps!

YOU WIN! While the server name was already correct, your note inspired me to replace "domain\username", which apparently works on all other phones in the company, with "[email protected]". That worked!
Hooray! Now I have work e-mail and calendar on my personal phone...hey, wait a minute... :silly:
I am having the same problem "Server not available. Please try again later".
So am I correct in saying that instead of username, I should put [email protected]?
For example, if my username is worldjunction and my domain is batman then for the Username field I shoud put [email protected]?
And for the Domain field should I put batman.com?
Your advice is greatly, greatly appreciated. I'm getting desparate here.
Using [email protected] doesn't work me. Anyone else have this problem?

I am having the same problem where it is saying "wrong address or password." The password is correct (because i can set this up with my other andriod devices) but there must be something going on with the username or server address
For example:
email address: [email protected]
password: password
username: sample & company/sample & [email protected] have all been tried
server address: mail.company.com & exchange.company.com have been tried
domain: company
Anyone figure this out yet?? your help is much appreciated
thought i was the only one with this issue.
ahhh will give your guys method a try
Any update to this problem? I have it working with my Galaxy S2 but I can't get my work email to sync on the OG. I've tried a combination of all of these.
usernames:
domain\username
username
[email protected]
server:
mail.company.com
exchange.company.com
EDIT/ Not sure if this is helpful or not but for some reason MailDroid works but K9 doesn't.

I'm having the same problem with my LGOG phone. like many i ahve tried all possible combinations and it doesn't seem to work.
like wise, maildroid was such a breeze to set up and K9, like the stock email app doesn't work. k9 didn't work for me in my older phone either after one of their update.
Same problem here
I seem to have the same issue as everyone else. Exchange email works just fine on my iPhone, and everyone else's Android devices (Galaxy S3, Nexus S, etc...). I use the exact same settings and the stock app on my LGOG will not connect. I installed a third-party email app and it worked, but it's ugly, and I want all my email accounts in the same place - as well as calendar and contacts integration.
I've tried all the suggestions - various combinations of usernames, server names and domains, and nothing is working. It appears something is horribly wrong with the LG email app.
Is there any way to install the email app from the Nexus 4?

Try This
Guys,
I just got it working after struggling with it for a while. Try this:
emailaddress: [email protected]
password: password
username: username ONLY (no @domain or anything else)
server: mail.domain.com
domain: domain ONLY (no .com or anything else)
Best of luck! Let me know if it works for you.
well done

Hi All,
Ive also got same problem "server not avalible error", tried all combinations as per above , still no fix for me
Im on 4.1.2 and like the others ive not recived any updates to fix this error.. For those that updated ...Do you have to update via the LG software on the PC or check for updates via the phone its self...
Phone has been rooted, dont know if that makes any difference?.. yes i can get it to work with 3rd party software , but want to use the inbulit mail if i can.
Regards
Joe
I tried to update via LG software and the PC and it said no software update...
Anyone recommend a free exchange app for calenders so i can sync from work?
How do I setup an email account (that supports it, like outlook.com) as push instead of "sync every xx minutes" ?
I just got the GPro today and am setting everything up, however I've been unable to see a way to create an outlook, com email account
and have it push.

Have you tried just using the Outlook.com App for this which has Push Notifications?
calmly ntsNuro
I've tried several times.
Outlook.com just keeps saying "Outlook has stopped" when I try to setup an account.
When I get to the permissions screen and press "OK" to accept is when I get that message.
Any idea ?
Thanks,
Fred

Have you tried to clear the App Cache and Data from the App Manager then try to add an account again? I can say that it does work once the Outlook app is setup. I get my new emails as they arrive.

Yup, no change.
The stupid stock android email app allows me to set that up as an exchange account with "push" however I have to physically open the app to get notifications of new emails and actually get the email !! What good is that. I have to open the app up ever 15 mins or whenever I want to see if I have new email
Arrrggggg
Coming from the Blackberry line trying to move to Andriod but soooo crazy.
Blackberry is a snap to set email up on.
Android is making it as difficult as possible
Fred
EDIT :
The stock app appears to work now, with push, after a phone reboot.
Reminds me Microsoft stuff lol
Does anyone use LG Mail for their work Exchange Server? IF so, do you get constant message where it says your work email password has changed and to re-enter it? I didn't have this issue on my Note 3 using Samsung Email. On top of that my calendar doesn't sync anymore? I would have to recreate the account to see new entries I just added.
