I'm on an HTC One X International, endeavoru, hboot 1.39.0000.
No KitKat roms will install. (Jelly bean ROMs install fine). In TWRP I get something about an error updater binary. In CWM I get status 7 error.
I've tried the latest versions of both TWRP and CWM, and I've tried the modified versions I've seen posted around here. Nothing works. Also tried re-unlocking my bootloader.
Try latest philz recovery..
Normally the latest twrp test img on one of the last few pages should work..
Also which KK Rom do you tried to flash?

I'm trying to flash: aicp_endeavoru_kitkat-3.5-RELEASE-20140309
Just tried the latest philz recovery (philz_touch_6.19.3-endeavoru.zip), didn't work either.
Where can I find the latest twrp test img? Is this related to philz recovery?

Can you try to get a recovery log? You can save it through advanced or so...then upload it here so I can take a ook inside.. normally it should work fine...but I think that if even on those recoveries your zip file is broken...try to redownload it...
And no twrp is not related to philz...you should know that twrp has its own thread ...and I said it's somewhere on the last few pages...if even that doesn't work it's 100% a broken zip file!

Sorry about that, read your post wrong and thought phil was making a mod of twrp .
Tried to flash the lastest twrp-recovery2 test from that thread with WinDroid Toolkit, it doesn't seem to work, phil's CWM is still installed.
Also tried flashing BeanStalk-4.4.255-20140315-endeavoru, always the same error as with AICP.
Checked md5s, doesn't seem like a download error.
I'm stumped
Recovery file is here, ignore the bit at the end where I clicked 'show log' for some reason...

Ok, I figured out what's going on here. I have found a recovery file that I need for this ROM, but even though Windroid keeps saying it's been flashed, it's not actually happening. This is the recovery file: recovery-6.0.4.5-endeavoru.img http://d-h.st/Ugy
edit: solved by using a different tool to install recovery. thanks for your help!

Hi Everyone,
I've been trying to use a stripped-down sense based ROM on my Wildfire. I have successfully s-off'ed, rooted, and flashed other similar ROMs before. This time round CWM 2.5.0.7 seems to just reset itself every time I try to flash the zip. The log file says something about being unable to access /dev/tty0
CWM 3.x and upwards is working fine for AOSP roms, but I am unable to get 2.5.x working.
Thanks for your help.
Instal CWM 2.5.x from rom manager.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried this - several versions. Also through fastboot. I've even completely restored the software using an RUU and then re-installed different versions of pre 3.x CWM with no success
hi,
im stuck in a circle of stupid mistakes
from the beginning:
my HOX was on stock ROM, but rooted.
i made the OTA to 3.18.401.1 (by using rootkeeper)
then i wanted to get back to stock without root by flashin a RUU.
there is no RUU for the 3.18.xx
the older RUUs are giving me an error 140 message
so i figured out that the only way to get back to stock now is by restoring a NAND backup
i haven't made a backup of my HOX because i already have it since few days
a kind user of this forum gave me his twrp backup of 3.18.401.1 to restore
so i flashed the twrp 2.4.3.0 to restore
but the touchscreen isnt working (same with twrp 2.4.0.0)
after reading a little on xda i now know that this is kernel related issue
i flashed the adviced kernel over CWM
flashed twrp 2.4.0.0
but touchscreen still isnt working.
:crying:
Now i dont know what to do.
im trying to fix this for 2 days now and i cant take it any longer
HOX CID HTC__102
AW: kernel, twrp and back to stock issues
Don't flash the kernel via cwm, flash it via fastboot
And the right section for this would have been Q&A

Sorry, i thought this would be the right section...

Have you tried erasing cache in fastboot with fastboot erase cache. Maybe that will help
i had the wrong version of the twrp 2.4.0.0.
it has to be the openrecovery-twrp-2.4.0.0-endeavoru-JB.img
now touch is working
but how do i restore a backup?
my HTC_102-3.18.401.1 TWRP Backup.zip is on the root folder of sd.
whe i tap restore in twrp this backup is not shown...
EDIT:
ah ok, i need to create folder /twrp/backups/myIMEI/
Glad to see you got sorted
Hi,
I've tried yesterday to install MaximusHD, and I had some trouble.
First I've unlocked the phone, this went fast.
Second according to the manual in MaximusHD forum I flashed the Kernel, I then tried to go to recovery but I only got red exclamation.
The second problem I've got is that I lost my IMEI.
I solved the IMEI problem by flashing boot.img from the RUU of my phone.
maybe it's because I'm a noob, but please help.
Thanks,
Phone: ENDEAVOR
cid: HTC_K18
HBOOT: 1.39
OS: JB 4.1.1
Hi,
After root you need to install a custom recovery specific for the phone, search for it in xda "One X Android Dev" form.
After this you can flash the boot.img for the custom ROM and then flash via the custom recovery the ROM, when aroma installer asks do the Full Wipe,
This will wipe clean the Data, System, and may be the cache partitions so wipe the Cache partition before installing the new ROM,
Good luck

You need a custom recovery! You can choose between TWRP or CWM. Or you have your own (but I guess not so...)

CLOCKWORK
Hello,
i am new in this Forum an i have a Problem, maybe somone can help me.
I habe the new HTC One M8. I wanted to debrand it, so i unlocked the bootloader and loaded philz touch 6 on it. Super SU was also installed. Then i tried the S-OFF variant with Firewater. Firewater said that in Moment ist not possible to use it on my device. So i decided to remove Root.
Super SU was erased, then i went into philz touch and made a factory reset including Cache/dalvik Cache erasing.
Philz Touch asked me before rebooting if i will install a new Rom. I said yes. I think it was the wrong decision.
From now on i can Access Philz touch, but the phone will not start up it stucks on the htc Logo.
Please can somebody help me?
Thank you
You did the factory reset but didn't flashed another Rom or nandroid backup afterwards? a big LOL ...if you do that factory reset in recovery you won't have any rom on it so don't wonder about that if you can't boot the device xD

Ok, so it´s my fault, but can you tell me how i can fix that? I think i will Need the stock Rom?
Restore a nandroid if you made one or go to this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376 and download one that matches your cid.
Thanks, but i cannot find this cid x.xx.112.x - T-Mobile AT (Austria), hope somobedy will be able to upload it.
In that time I would advise to use a custom Rom if you don't care atm about updates from HTC especially if there is nothing special to update like hboot etc and all custom roms are based in latest update

Device is : M8 Verizon (S-off)

edit : in the TWRP i allways get the msg : E: unable to mount /sysem.
My HTC ONE M8 is running again, What solved my Problem? i have unpacked the viperOneM8 zip and flashed the boot.img afterwards. Now it works like it should. Now i am gonna look for the stock Rom to unroot it and restore to stock.
Oooo.. Same as hox?? S-on requires manual flashing of the kerner it seems???

after flashing the rom. extract the boot.img from the rom zip file. Put it in your fastboot/adb folder.
then do:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

I Tool the Rom, Put it on a 2gb SD card, went into recovery, and hit install zip, choosed the rom and installed it. Then i have extracted the boot img and flashed it with fastboot

I have a HTC One X with stock Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and I am rooted. My only root apps are SuperSU, adaway, obackup, luckypatcher and titanium backup. I didn't modify any other things like framework or something. I didn't flash anything. Now the phone tells me about this bug fix update. I know I need stock recovery to flash it. So can I simply flash stock recovery then make the update and flash back cwm recovery again?

As long as your bootloader is unlocked, you can switch between recoverys whenever you want :good: So answer to your question is yes, you can flash stock recovery then make the update and flash back cwm recovery again.

You don't necessarily need stock recovery. You can press and hold the vol down and power button to boot into bootloader, select recovery, select install from zip file and in there selected the update zip file (it is stored in downloads folder). I am not sure about other OTA updates but this one installed correctly on my rooted HOX.
