E:Error executing updater binary in zip - i8150 - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

I was trying to help my friend and of course something went wrong.
I flushed TWRP 2.7.1 by Recovery Tools and all went fine.
I managed to flush it but I had problem to make buck up.
I should step back but I wiped out system and tried to flush Ehndroix V 14.3.22
During flushing I'm having 'E:Error executing updater binary in zip' and flushing fails.
Anybody figure out how to fix this?
I read on post for HTC that latest TWRP often doesn't work properly and they went back to v 3.6
and worked. I can sill go to recovery but please advice next steps.
Thanks in advance for help.

thats because the rom you are trying to flash has no signature, all you have to do is use a recovery that lets you flash unsigned .zip's, the latest version of clockworkmod recovery that comes with the unrevoked flash tool lets you do this
I did what you said and it worked from what i can tell and it loaded on AuraxTSense. The problem is at start up now it just says loading, this may take a few minutes to complete and just hangs there. I can't do anything with it and i can't change the rom from the recovery menu so now i'm even more stumped.

at witch part is it saying please wait? has the rom booted? did you do a full wipe before flashing? try doing a full wipe from the partitions menu in recovery and re flashing the rom
rebooted it and this time it just loaded up properly. Strange but hey.
Thanks for you help on my previous problem. It's basically the same issue but i've also tried deleting the partitions in the recovery menu. I've tried changing the rom from clockworkmod, nothing is working. It just puts AuraxTSense back to default.

Problem Installing CWM 5

Hey everyone thanks for taking the time to read this.
I'm trying to install CWM 5 on to my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830D.
It's running on Gingerbread 2.3.4.
I followed the guides to a 'T' and still can't figure this out.
I put the zipped file onto my SD card. When I go to install the file the installation aborts.
I've retried this process over and over again with no luck. I also tried to root my phone and I have the same problem.
Installation aborts..
The error it gives me is this: E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip .
I tried downloading the CWM 5 zip from other websites with no luck still.
My goal is to install the CyanogenMod 7.2 for Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830.
Thank you in advance for anyone who has read this and replied to help me fix this problem.
Cheers,
Brem.

to install CWM use Odin not recovery mode from your phone recovery mode is good to flash signed packages like updates from manufacturer you get error because that zip package containing CWM is self-signed anyway it fails because is not signed by Samsung so use default/stock recovery mode only to flash official updates -if you get one

Can nor restore to default Rom. Any suggestions

I tried restoring back to uprooted original Rom but the RUU errors out. Even downloaded new one.
I then extracted the boot and system image and the boot will flash but the system shows as bad and will not flask.
Rebooted and tried to recovery the rom zip but again fails as bad.
So right now I am at a lost on how to restore to a factory fresh system.
Thanks

Is this the error you are getting?
Error Code: -5001 : 0x80070002
Error Information:
>SetupNew\setup.cpp (142)
I'm getting the same thing with the RUU I downloaded and am seeking to get back to stock. So far no success, but see my thread below to see if something I've tried might work for you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30025087#post30025087
It'll be easier to diagnose your problem if you post any error messages.
You need to have stock recovery before running an RUU.

I have the stock RUU I used it last month without issue. When running it when it try's to update ram I get an unknown error 155. Make sure you have correct software.
When I extract the rom to flask. It fails and says bad rom.
I was able to find a zip original rom and using recovery from zip I was able to install and revert to 1.29.401.11
But trying download the software update to the new version after installing the original recovery and relocking it fails on install. It get about a quarter of the way through then recovery gets a red exclamatory or something and installation stops. So I tried installing the RUU again and still get the same error hoping that a fresh install would correct the update issue.
I hope this helps

Did you try power and up-vol at the red exclamation screen. I thought I saw somewhere that this will work (trying to find the link for it)? Give it a shot and let us know.

OK, I get it, you don't have a problem getting back to stock, but rather it's an OTA update error you have. I don't know anything about OTA updates but this error message should help someone else troubleshoot what's going on. Is it possible that you've used the incorrect RUU, but it just happened to work for you and now your image does not correspond with your correct OTA? Maybe post the exact file name of your RUU and the results of "fastboot getvar cid" and "fastboot getvar version-main".
Good luck!

[Q] Flashing problems R800i

Hi all,
Here's my history with my R800i
Unlocked it - fine
rooted it - fine until recently, which made me do the following -
First I tried to flash FXP137.
I could not get into recovery from the supplied boot.img - alternating the volume keys, and pressing them at the same time didn't work.
So I decided to use the boot.img I had used to flash the rooting.zip - CWM 4.0.x
That then resulted in an error along the lines of assert failed, which lead me to remove the version/model check from the zip.
Then it flashed fine, but it stayed at the Cyanogenmod10 booting screen - It didn't freeze, just kept looping.
I have tried using official CyanogenMod9, but it also assert failed, and I didn't want to try removing it before checking back here.
Where am I going wrong?
Okay, managed to get the latest version of CWM, and it booted fine. Installed CM9, stuck at the bootanimation.
I'm guessing it is something wrong with my device then?
Okay, I wiped data and now CM9 boots.

Hi, this is some hope for me because i'm getting an assert failed error message too. Can you guide me how to remove the version/model check from the zip?? Thanks!
*UPDATE: The reason was totally something else. Works now... Thanks anyways!

Well, I ended up opening the zip file and browsing to META-INF/com/google/android and opening updater-script and removing the first set of lines regarding model numbers. However, I ended up booting a freshly built recovery img from here: http://builder.clockworkmod.com/ and installing the official CM9.1 zip.
Click on existing devices and select zeus (or zeusc for CDMA) and deselect touch recovery.
just flash This (R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_Generic Baseband) if you have the 800i. use Flashtool to flash it. once done. trow the Cyanogenmod Kernel (Boot.img) on the phone again use flashtool to do that as well. Once done Flash cyanogenmod again and you shuld be fine
R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_Generic Baseband can be found on here on the forum. otherwise Pm me and i will send it to you

Might I inquire as to how it would fix the problem?

Before installing the ROM, I missed out on flashing the kernel "boot.img". I proceeded directly to install the zip on my phone using recovery. Hence i was getting the error message. And i thought if I removed the assert lines it would just proceed. Ignorance i would say.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Help Needed With Flashing Roms

Hello! I am new to the site so please be serious! Ok, so here's the problem: I rooted my Galaxy Nexus from Verizon to install CyanogenMod 11, Once I got the rom onto my phone I entered recovery using TWRP Recovery, then I tried to install the rom. After that it failed and I can't remember why, but I was being stupid and clicked the format sd card button and bricked my device. Now I'm trying to flash the rom again through ADB and Windows sends the .zip file to the phone, then while trying to install it gives the error of "E: Error executing updater binary in zip" and I cannot figure out a way to fix it. I need help as soon as possible and it would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Nobody? Nobody has had this issue or a solution?

as long as you can get to the bootloader see this thread to return to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/general/how-to-return-to-stock-galaxy-nexus-t1626895
