[Q] update media - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know how to get the fone to manually search for new media Files, I've downloaded a couple of things and they show up eventually but it's a pain waiting on the fone finding them

Update
it seems like the phone doesn't automatically look for new files as when I restarted the phone it found the file and it showed up in media player, any ideas on that ?

Hello,

please soem body help.
Hey, I've got a similar problem but don't get an error message.
When I did experiment in trying to get it going again I replaced audiomanager.exe with a duplicate it gave an error. I gave a hard reset and the rom re-installed with no error msg on audio manager but still loss of functionality.
I am beginning to think it may be a problem with memory card so will try tonight to move a few mp3s to device memory and remove the sd, then try again.
Hey ho.
Problem solved for me, reason:
A single dodgy MP3 file.
I deleted a folder (within a group of similar) and it refused to go using Total Commander. There was only one MP3 left in the folder, I took out my SD card, plugged into my laptop and deleted it directly from the card.
I then re-inserted the card to my TP2, updated WindowsMedia library
I then did a soft reset
I then went to TF3d music tab and viola! All now working.
Might be nothing wrong with the file, but the TP2 didn't like it! Hope this helps.

The problem is solved.
I didn't any mp3 just go to registery:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\Config\device_scan_path_path and path0
for path set it where you copy your music and path0 set to \music in your device memory.
delete Audiomanager_eng.vol do a soft reset.
that's all.
I did it !!!
Hello guys ,like all of you i am a Htc fan and i had the same problem on my touch diamond...After many tryes i did solved this problem for me.
Try this and it should work and please post a reply if it works for you too
1-Go to youre music folder (path with all the music) and delete all the songs bigger than 10,5 Mb.
2-Go in device memory "Application Data"->"Htc"->"AudioManager_Eng" and there you will find a folder called "Playlists" and a file "AudioManager_Eng.vol"
3-Delete this folder "Playlists" ,and rename "AudioManager_Eng.vol" as you wish ,Eg. "asdfdasd".
4-Reboot your device and the player sohould be fine after a long seach for music.
5-For all the operation i ussed TotalCommander.
I hope it will work for all of you.

First off, this thread is over a year old. The final relevant post was one stating that the problem was fixed.
Secondly, this thread is for the Rhodium, not the Diamond. Please don't resurrect old threads for no reason.

Music Tab in TF3D no longer functions

Hi All
Got a problem with my unbranded TP2.
The audio player has stopped functioning in my touch-flo menu. It is possible to browse by disc & artist etc and it returns a track onto the player but it remains at 0m00secs and then wont even go fwd or bwd to any other tracks.
Hmmm, I though I would check out Windows Media to see if that works - hey just fine and picks the same tracks from my SD card no problemos.
Have tried, hard & soft reset.
Have tried clear storage and return to factory settings
Have tried installing audiomanager.exe fresh but same problem
I have installed Romeo's transformation pack and also un-installed it to see if any difference.
Before I look at changing the SD card does anyone have any ideas?
Grateful for any input

No Music Found?

Evening all,
I recently flashed a generic HTC ROM onto my Desire to get rid of the lovely Orange branded ROM that came with it.
Ever since I cannot play my music stored on the SD card through Music or Tunewiki. When I open Music or Tunewiki neither application can find any music files. The files are in the exact same location as they were in before I flashed the new ROM. Can anyone tell me what's going on and how I fix it?
I've searched Google and XDA to no avail.
Thanks in advance.

It's a widget, clicking on it will remount your SD card and refresh all the files. Should fix it.
I learn something new every day. Problem solved.
Cheers

"SDCard" Help

I recently got my phone swapped out VIA warrenty.
I was running AOKP on my old phone and copied via ADB all of my files from the internal storage to a folder on my PC.
When I got my new phone I ADB Pushed all the files back on the phone (after unlocking the bootloader) and installed the rom back up.
Unfortunately, my gallery is not picking up any pictures except for the ones I take with the phone, even though I see on my PC and Astro on the phone that the old pictures are there.
In addition, none of my custom notifications or ringtones or alarms are showing up in Android even though they are in the same place they were before, with the same rom.
I've tried many of the 'sdrescan' apps and nothing has worked.
I tried erasing the internal memory, and instead of transferiing the files VIA ADB I tried doing it VIA Windows Explorer (which took forever)
Nothing has worked
Please Help
Dominic
Solved....
After DAYS of trying, and many hard resets, I found a .nomedia file hidden on the root of the sdcard.......don't know how the hell I didn't notice it before. Still wondering how it got there...

Same thing is happening to me. The phone still will not recognize my internal storage ringtones and notifications though, even after removing the .nomedia file.

help wiht MTP/Media Scan?

All,
Finally got JellyBean up and running after a scare with semi bricked phone. Everything was running cool when I started accidentally put .nomedia into the music folder. I realized that, deleted that file, delete data from "Media Storage" service, reboot(thinking that will make phone rescan all the media.
Now, it still doesn't the my music, and when I plug the phone to the computer, all I see is one folder which is the Notification folder. I've had this happen before and I really rather not wipe my phone again.
Any pointers on fixing this?
Thanks!
