Hello, I've been playing the game Sky Gamblers - Rise of Glory. I bought this Moga Pro because I love the game soo much.. BUT, the dang sticks are backwards, for example right stick controls up and down, left and right. And the right controls rudder and throttle. . Huge bummer, I was wondering if anyone knows a way, with a game that doesn't offer control mapping, to switch the stick roles. Weather it be physically taking it apart / mapping app..
Pretty silly that every game except RiseOfGlory has the right stick as the "look around" stick.. Frustrating

i have been waiting for a gaming phone for a long time so snapped up the xperia play as soon as i could but after a bit of use with some of the faster paced games im feeling like there is noticable input (controller) lag and this is completely spoiling some games
i was assuming this would be a top priority for a gaming device to ensure minimal input lag, is this a general issue with android, not offering direct access to hardware buttons? or could it be software just isn't interfacing the hardware buttons in a suitable way for the xperia
i am really quite taken back by this discovery and if this is a hardware issue that can never be fixed then this is not going to offer a good portable gaming experience for anything other than slow paced games

Can you tell us, on what games did you have the problem?, are you using an emulator, or a game from the market?
this will help others to test the same games and get a feedback...
well something that exposes it for me is mario 3 or mario world, nes / snes, these are games require a good level of accuracy, i know how these games should feel as i've played them quite a bit
playing these games on the xperia seems to be similar to when i tried playing them on a desktop with a cheap wireless keyboard that had known lag issues, its like you have to preplan every move you make rather than just play it and you end up constantly overshooting jumps and running off edges, if you then put the game onto something lag free you'll find you aren't making any of these mistakes

i believe thats an emulator lag, cause i have the same feeling playing on an Archos tablet with the wiimote.
try playing with the touch screen and test if you feel the same lag...
I found it to be emulator related (snes9x EX was the snes one to give me input lag when I tried DKC2).
Other software seems to work fine.
I havenĀ“t experienced any lag ussing xperia play controller.
Neither have I experienced any lag I am using Snesoid
i have just given snesdroid a try and i believe you are correct, it does seem far more responsive with the controls compared to tiger snes and snes9x ex, so hopefully this means it really is just a software issue, i found the tiger king releases to be great in every other way so its a shame they have this issue, but i guess i'll be checking out the .droid alternatives for now, thanks

I know this is a very old thread, but what games are you playing? I am using Snesoid and it still lags enough that quick action games are unplayable.
The main game I play is Wild Guns - on the XPlay, for example the character doesn't start moving until slightly after the direction is pressed, the aiming reticle does not stop moving until slightly after the direction is released. This makes precise positioning of the aiming reticle impossible, because for best play you need to shoot tiny enemy bullets out of the air and if you can't stop the reticle in exactly the right place the bullet will kill you. On a real SNES I can beat the entire game without dying, but on the XPlay I will lose all my lives by the 2nd stage.
The next game I spent a lot of time playing on a real SNES is Super EDF - using the Photon weapon and flying right up point-blank to enemies - obviously if the input response is not instantaneous then either I run into the enemies when I can't stop, or the enemies run into me when I can't move. I can't quite beat this game without dying on a real SNES yet, but same thing for XPlay - I will lose all my lives 30 seconds into the first level.
Contra III - on the bike level when the big ship comes down (if lucky enough to get that far), try squeezing between the electric beams - it's easy on a real SNES but you can't stop in the right place with input lag and you will be zapped.
Input lag probably isn't a big deal for menu-surfing in Final Fantasy or whatever most other people like to play, but it's fatal for coin-op style games where precision is needed.
As it is I don't play any more games on the XPlay. I don't know if it is just an emulator issue or if it gets better on native XPlay software, since there isn't any XPlay software that I have played to an expert level.
im also experiencing a input lag but only on native playstation games like 30Ms delay
I tried need for speed in the lapdock and was unplayable cause the lag, is this right?
Btw i tried dungeon defender hd too and couldnt move the hero with the arrows keys, theres any way to play without use the touchpad in the screen? i think its unplayable that way since u cant touch the lapdock screen to move the hero so how im supose to walk with the hero?
I liked the lapdock but if i cant play games in that i think im going to skip until the quad cores coming around.
Anyone with the lapdock can give any update when playing games on it?
Regards,
Rwurdig.
If the games are designed for touchscreens, it seems useless to try to play them through the Laptop Dock. Just play them on the phone...
Yea i figured that, shame they didnt make the screen touch too in the lapdock.
But how about the speed of the games, need for speed was unplayable , it supose to work like that or it has something wrong?
Anyone try Angry Birds on the S3?
Feels so laggy. Is this a problem with AMOLED or what? Needs an update? It feels/looks like you're playing a game on an LCD HDTV without game mode turned on. Bad input lag and the birds slightly, but noticeably to me, stutter across the display like the response time is very low.
Also don't like how it works with the S3 screen res. The only way to play AB to me is to zoom out all the way so you can see what you're aiming at, and so it doesn't pan the view as you fire, throwing off your shot. This makes things tiny on the S3 with such a large horizontal view.
Sucks cause Angry Birds is about the only game I play on my phone when I'm bored and without my tablet. It runs much better on my Thunderbolt too.
Feels and looks fine to me. I don't notice any lag at all, gameplay is smooth.
Ok never mind lol. Was exploring the phone last night and had turned on power saver which limits cpu frequency. Would explain why my phone has been feeling laggy in all day.

LoL. Had a feeling that's what the issue was
Happens to the best of US
Mythra, one of the mod/GM of the game runs it on her Nexus 7, as I do.
Cryric, developer is working on a tablet version UI.
FPS is around 14-24 (my SGS3 gets 31-34) depending on how zoomed out you are but very playable, it is not a graphics intensive game. It is similar IMO to Eve Online Space MMO on the PC.
There is keyboard lag, I use Thumb Keyboard for the arrows to correct misspellings.
Chat is rather small, compared to on a phone but readable.
If you play or consider playing, please get on their forum>suggestions and shoot them a few.

I started playing this game about a week ago on my Xperia Play (gets about 30 fps but as mentioned fps literally has no bearing on the game from what I can gather) and absolutely love it. I got hooked on Vendetta Online but playing on a phone, even one with a gamepad, is impossible due to how deep the combat is but this game manages to be incredibly deep while completely stream-lined for smartphones and I really can't recommend it enough to people looking for a good MMO on their android phones or tablets.
I tried playing this but quickly got lost and gave up. I can't figure out how to get my sword or cast cure...

Just got my first bluetooth controller: Moga Pro Power, but I noticed a big problem that i'm not sure if its this controller or just BT controllers in general.
The problem is when I'm speed taping, it will not confirm many of the presses. For example, when I'm playing "muffin knight" and I mash the A button 10 times very fast to shoot 10 arrows quickly, maybe like only 5 arrows are shot. Same thing if im playing Conduit HD; mashing the trigger button to shoot pistol; but shots don't come out as fast. It's not the same as console controllers.
If I play these games using only touch screen, speed tapping works, but not with the controller. Is this how its supposed to be like?
I haven't noticed this with mine, but I don't go crazy on it either. Tomorrow I'll do some button mashing and see if I can't duplicate your issue.
Side note- what device are you playing Conduit HD on? Says not compatible with the N5.

I side loaded Conduit on my N5. I've attached the apk, but be careful though... launching the app will make it begin downloading the whole game.... about 850 MB, so be prepared. When you get to the part when using the pistol, try shooting with it as fast as you can.
Besides that, any game in which you need to press buttons really fast is affected. The most obvious to me is Muffin knight when using "archer" avatar. Thanks for looking into it.

Cool, thanks for the apk!
Anyways, I downloaded Muffin Knight to test it and it does seem like it misses a button press every so often. But only when mashing it really fast. It's not 50% of the button presses for me though, it seems to miss MAYBE 1 or 2 out of every 10. And it's only when I'm holding the controller with one hand and mashing really fast with the other. Holding the controller normally I can't press the button fast enough to make it miss any. It very well could just be that you can hit the button faster than me though. And it's weird, it seems it only happens with the archer. The mage fires as fast as I can tap.
I have both the Pro and the Hero and it's the same with both controllers.
On a side note, this game is insanely frustrating. I can't for the life of me get 10 muffins.
Edit: Woohoo! I got 14!!! The unicorn and his rainbow poop is the key. I just dropped a ton of turds all over the level to give me some time to grab as many muffins as I can. If you can tell, I suck at games like this haha.
Can't wait for mine to get here

So I have an odd situ with my Power Pro.
It works great, and its a blast, but with a couple of games from Gameloft (Wild Blood and Gangstar Rio), the left analogue stick just isnt recognised at all. Its a total pain, and i dont know how to resolve it. All other games i have from GL, and many other apps work perfectly well.
Anyone else had this?
it isnt compatibility with n5? why? cause of kitkat? i want to buy moga pro power :S

I have mixed feelings about my Moga Power Pro.
The right analog stick rubs against your right thumb the entire time you play. You'll get used to it after a while though, but at first it's really bothersome.
Switching between A and B mode is a pain. If you switch too fast, you'll lose your Bluetooth connection and you'll have to resync your controller again.
The Bluetooth signal itself is weak, the range is short, and it's easily blocked by objects. You can't for example put your phone on a TV stand, hook your phone up to your TV, then sit back on the couch with your Moga controller, because the range isn't long enough and you'll start losing signal before unsyncing completely.
It's not compatible with any Android keyboard emulator that I know of. Meaning, you can't custom map the controls to games not supported by either A mode or B mode.
Sometimes it just doesn't want to sync when I turn it on, so then I'll have to resync it again.
But other than that, it's great. It's a shameless ripoff of a 360 controller, which isn't a bad thing. Battery life is amazing, the longest gaming session I've had so far was 4 hours and it still had plenty of juice left. There's nothing else better than the Moga Power Pro in the market right now, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved.
MAybe with future app version will be better
The moga controllers are fully compatible. I have one and its amazing.

I have zero issues with Bluetooth range. I plug my phone into my TV and sit 15+ feet away while I play. Not once have I had it disconnect, and I've noticed zero added latency due to the distance. Mine also pairs right up every time without issue.
