I guess the best roms never exists. I have been using OpenSemc for a while (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555243) but now I'm using Paranoid because it's still under active development (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2573345).

Try Mokee Open Source. Search in google. For me, battery life is far better than in my previous ROM.
Guyz.. I have installed purexperia z2 rom on my canvas 4 with the help of cwm recovery.... And its not working fine on my device.. Camera is also not good!! Please someone upload canvas 4 stock rom without any modifications flashable with cwm.. :crying:

If in case u need the stock rom V1 to be flashed via SP tools:

and then if u feel you can root and uninstall the preinstalled apps i assume u know that
there is one advantage of stock rom V1 over the V3: In stock rom V3 the ambient light sensor is badly caliberated due to which the display feels very dim. And as such there is no change in the update V3 still the games such as cut the rope and vector cannot run.
The update V2 is bug free but unfortunately it is no more available on the internet please if anyone got the stock rom V2 please upload it and send the link.
And you can try the speed V2 (speed rebirth) custom rom. That's what I am using currently. No storage bug. no camera bug. completely bug free

same as cm11 , you can use twrp abd cwm recovery , and kernel is inluded inside the zip
@afi1982 to fix the rotation issue you could try to flash the kitkat modems modified for aosp based roms since they fix rotation issues.

there is no miui 6 port just yet and i don't think that miui v5 is ugly.

I didn't tried it because I have the D802 and not the D800, but since your MIUI is 4.4.4 I think that you based it on Cyanogenmod or any AOSP based aftermarket rom so you have to flash the aosp modified modem. You can download it here:

This is what dr87 said......so i dont know why to use those modems and not stock kitkat ones..? If ur rom is 4.4.4 source..

The 4.4.4 rom that he used as base is using the old devicetree/kernel sourcecode. dr87 means that if the rom is using old LG sourcecode that you then need to flash those modems. So he wasn't talking about the Android OS sourcecode.
Some Roms like this one where Afi based Miui on is using LG's Android 4.2 sourcecode but newer roms are using the sourcecode from LG's android 4.4.2
