Delivery Today for S5 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

I am getting my S5 today but it is going to go back I don't want a 16gb I need 32gb. I hope they come out with a 32gb or I will look at the international S5. what is everyone opinion about the S5 in a 16gb and preloaded Kitcat?

it was set for 4/1 but it is out for delivery today.

I've only had my S 4 a few months now and looking at the specs I couldn't possibly find any reason to move to the S 5. Slightly and I do mean slighty higher rez camera. Water and dust resistant, that's a plus but I see nothing about the S 5 that would make me want it because the S 4 can't do it.

There is a sticky to discuss other devices and an S5 section
Please take it to one of those places
Thanks

Trade GS3 for Note II

Do you think it will be worth it to upgrade from my GS3 to the NOTE II?
I have read in the other gnote 2 forum there is a lot of other gs3 users who made the switch and are far happier with the note 2. U might want to take a look over there and see what they say

I returned my GS3 in order to get this phone. With all the quad cores coming out I felt that staying with a dual core would be a bad choice for my first android device. In reality it is all a matter of preference, I plan to use the s-pen in my college classes.
im doing it!
someone will buy my GS3 for $400 or so on craigslist. So i'm buying the $650 no commitment price and i have $100 gift card at best buy. so itll be $150 to me.. no biggie

is there any disadvantage to not having the att model or are they alike in every way? I preordered my phone off contract from att. i suppose if the tmobile version is the same i could skip the wait..
Any of you guys having regrets now that the nexus 4 was announced. I'm still in love with the not but the debate is still stuck in my head lol.

I've got the same debate going on in my head and it's compounded by my sons (both CompE grads) urging me to get the Nexus 4. I've been enamored with the Note, since the original came out. I'll get the N2 on the 9th and use it for 3-4 days. I'll know at that time, whether it's the right one for me. If not, I'll return it and get the Nexus.
didnt they leave LTE off the nexus 4? That's a dealbreaker for me

Yes. That drove me back to Note 2. Fortunately I kept my pre-order.
I like the N4 and stock Android, but I don't want to live another 2 years with HSPA+.

I sell phones. I play with both and own a note 2. It's a personal thing, but if you are a power user, which I think you are because you are on XDA then you will LOVE the Note II. Once you use it you can't go back.
* The screen is so much better and brighter than SG3.
* jellybean and 1.6GHz Quad Core processor makes everything buttery smooth
* watching youtube videos are stunning in HD
* extra large screen is great for gaming! especally on emulators.
* Using it as a E-Reader for my Kindle App Books work superbly well as the screen is the size of a small paperback book page

And no removeable battery or micro sd card slot. Now thats just crazy google. This note 2 should be a monster. It includes all of the above and then some. The at&t version does have rgb led notifications right? I havent seen any videos showing it. And I definitely want to use light flow.

[Q] Galaxy S3 vs Alternatives

Hey guys! Just thought I would post for some input on my current decision. I am thinking about selling my S3 for either the new Lumia 920 (totally different operating system, i know), nexus 4, or note 2. Are there any big advantages the other phones have to the S3? The thing is I am analyzing whether it is worth it or not to sell and "upgrade."
Selling the galaxy s3 for 450 and buying a nexus 4 for 350 and pocket 100$. That is if you sell your s3 now.

Note 2 would be the best upgrade. Nexus 4 is somewhat equal to the s3 and the lumia might be a step down from the s3.

How is the phone for note taking, despite the name "note." I am asking because I go to school and wanted something to take notes on in class. However I was also considering of just getting the Nexus 4 and a Nexus 7/10 for actual note taking.

With the little amount of note writing on it I have done, it seems pretty good. Handwriting recognition is very good. Yes its a big phone, but a little small for writing on, though.
I think the Nexus 4 looks great, and the price is definitely right, but I am so irritated that Google has opted to take out removable SD cards in their latest iterations. It was one of the great things about Android. I could expand my storage up to 64gb, or even swap out cards if I wanted to. That's literally the only reason I haven't been able to even put the Nexus 4 in the running for my next phone.
But I would probably trade my S3 plus some cash for a note 2. It looks awesome.

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S III or Google Nexus 4

So im going to buy a new phone which one do you guys think is better to purchase
T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S III or Google Nexus 4
The Nexus 4. The N4 has much better specs than the US S3. Also, if you are going to buy the phone off-contract, the N4 is around half the price of the Galaxy S3.

Yep do this. Is the S4 coming out?.. sorry if it sounds stupid but I read that the Koreans are gonna announce it February and release it on March. Sounds crazy but that's kinda the only reason why I decided not to upgrade to S3.
I would choose S3 over the N4. N4 doesn't have an external storage and the most it has I think is 16gb. I'm using a 34gb card with my S2 and on the S3 I'll be using a 64(I think it's 64?...)gb card on it. Plus N4 had no LTE.. if your sticking with T-Mobile then LTE compatibility shouldn't matter. Screen is smaller.. I dunno there was a bunch of other stuff. Google it.

That would be my number one reason as well. I save all the important stuff from my phone on the micro sd (before it goes on the hard drive) and if the phone dies, my precious data will not.
N4
I think a benefit of the N4 would be the android updates would come first to it since its Google's new flagship phone. The specs are good on both and would work flawlessly.
One of the factors that I would look at is the expandable memory cuz u never know if ur gonna need. Both r good phones but on the n4 I think u well run out of space faster and surprise !! no extra memory. Went through this on my n7 it is nice having the vanilla flaver though.

i would move onto a S4 if I could get a great deal and sell my Note 2 for a good price. The slightly smaller size and higher res display appeals to me. I never use the stylus on my Note2 anyway. When the Note3 comes out in 4-5 months, I think S4 owners are going to feel jipped. The Note3 will probably have the octo-core processor, which means it'll have more features. My wife's S3 didn't get multi-window until May 2013 (Note2 got it December 2012). The US S3 (T-Mobile) still doesn't have pop-up browser. Of course you can get all that stuff if you flash custom ROMs, but not everyone is into that.

I'm curious how the octacore will equal more features? Granted, the note 3 probably will have more features than the s4 since it will launch after it, but I doubt that will have anything to do with the processor. Most benchmarks have shown the snapdragon quad core to be equal to or better than the octa in performance and battery life.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
You're right but who knows what's around the corner. Imagine the features Google is cooking up for Key Lime Pie that might take advantage of more cores. I'm sure Samsung must have ideas in development. Friends with software engineering and computer science backgrounds tell me (in reference to general computing) hardware is the limiting factor rather than software.
I'm sure everyone has seen this video on the abilities of the Note 2. I expect an octo-core Note 3 to do much more.

The N4's glass back will give you heaps of worries
If I had fully working gnex perhaps I would wait until n5 or maybe go for s4 or HTC one. But since it died and I didn't had unlimited funds I went for n4...and I am really happy, I would never downgrade. It's blazing fast, screen is awesome. Even voice quality (in call) seems higher. Of course it has its flaws, but which device hasn't? Wifi and data signal are as weak as on gnexus. Yeah glass back but that's what cases are for. Maybe it's not a huge upgrade in terms if camera (still very average) but it is a noticeable difference overall . For me N4 feels like Gnex on steroids. Exactly what I was looking for and I don't need much more.
