[Q] 64gb card support in 4.1.2 - Sony Xperia ZL

Hello,
I am using xperia zl 4.1.2, rooted since few months, I want to give away this mobile for replacement for ir issue, I am planning to buy 64 gb card, can anyone help me if 4.1.2 supports that? Read in the change log of 4.2.2 that support for 64gb is added, but many claim otherwise. I dont want to update because rooting for 4.2/4.3 requires flashing (doomlord/nuts etc) which I dont want to risk now and I require root access for few important things. Thanks in advance.

4.2.2+ firmware support SDXC
Its your choice whether you want to upgrade or not

Note II LTE and custom rom future?

Hello,
Since there is no custom rom for LTE, i was wondering what is the reason behind that. Are the firmware files for the N7105 device not available or is the source closed unlike N7100. I am currently looking to buy the LTE version, however if the custom rom wont come i will rather go for the N7100 version.
Cheers
PS: I have never owned an android device before and currently use the Nokia N900 (running maemo linux)
1) There is a stock, rooted, deoxed rom available.
2) Samsung have hindered asop development at every pass so support is low.
3) Touchwiz is VASTLY improvesd. No where near perfect but most people are happy.
4) The devs are busy working on the 7100 which is understandable so give them time.
5) The other idea is a patch to make n7100 work. (But it's looking like the changes are more than skin deep.)

I'll be looking to list any XDA N7105 ROMs on my site when they are available. I'm picking up my Note 2 this Friday 16th November.:good:

How's the support?

Hi, I'm currently using Lg g2x as my daily phone and I'm thinking of changing my phone to xperia ion or htc one s.
My g2x lacks driver support and it is near impossible for me to get an ICS/JB update...
I skimmed through threads and it seems like Wind mobile's Xperia Ion can't get custom roms?
can somebody confirm that for me please? thank you
and how are the support from sony and developers for this phone?
thank you
Odp: How's the support?
If you want custom roms you should buy Xperia S. There is a lot of roms and mods for this great phone.

Xperia S is a good phone (performance) but just read around this phone's section for some bricking incidents. It has been happening without any particular cause to many users. Some manage to recover after looong time (maybe even a week) and some unfortunate guys like me are stuck with a dead brick. Sony claims that I had a hard brick (needs motherboard replacement) but I had done nothing except wiping data in CWM. I don't think that you should buy this phone at all. Just go for any other phone.
Well if you plan to buy Xperia ion,buy either LT28i or LT28h that have bootloader unlock allowed : Yes
And then install your fav custom Rom and kernel

i started with spending my time into saving money for an ace 2, now i consider to buy a version,
but are all roms, mods, etc are aswell aviable for i8160 version or is there any difference between hardware related things out of nfc?
thanks already to guys who can answer my crappy question!
ROMs are different from standard i8160. I suggest buying standard version.

shh he must buy ace 2 (that means 1 more developer for us )
And yeah I suggest buying standard version too, I dun think NFC is that much needed.
Buy I8160 without P.
yeah, buy standard i8160... 'cause i think most of people here use a non-nfc ver.
CMIIW. just correct me. please.
I have 8160P and so far all custom ROMs and kernels for non-P version worked for me (except NFC, but who needs that?). I just had to change tee folder to make SIM working with them (this same applies to L version). The only problem is that you can't flash the samsung's official ROM from other version because it will hardbrick your device (most probably diferent radios).

Maybe if you buy nfc version you can develop for the standard version too, looks like the difference only on the nfc chip availability
But of course I would recommend to buy the standard version,
Can't wait to see you developing for us

Hope you will join us to develop great roms

Hi fifo171,
I have another GT~I8160P but don't know how to flash an specific GT~I8160 version for my P (with NFC) model.
Thanks

Anyone knows how to flash my GT-I8160P using new JB ROMs from GT-I8160?
I would like to use new JB from GT-I8160 in my Samsung NFC version but I am not confident about if normal process using Odin will work, I think flashing new Android v4.1.2 could damage my smarphone. I heard it may be dangerous if partitions change and new ROM don't include an appropriate PIT file.

[Q] Good rom for tethering/hotspot

I am going to spain for a week and I'm trying to figure out how to get cheap internet. My idea is to buy a sim at a local shop and use my old Desire as a hotspot.
Any tips on what would be the best rom for this? It doesn't need to be the latest android release, it just has to be stable and support the hotspot functionality. I remember having various roms that had trouble with this.
There is nothing like best rom

Which ROM is the most stable?

I'm still stuck on a pretty old Pacman 4.2.2 build and I wanna know what's a good up to date ROM either 4.2.2 or higher and doesn't randomly reboot all the time
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
CM10.1.2 is good enough for me in terms of stability, while CM10.2 is stable enough but has small kinks to be ironed. Also try 4.3 PACman yourself.(I found customizing it too painful), but I think I saw people said that recent nightlies are problematic.

Well CM10.1 and 10.2 sees my 8GB and 16GB cards. Are you sure a card of this capacity is hardware-wise supported by our Glide? (Does the stock GB/ICS ROM support it?)

I currently have a 64 GB MicroSD in my Glide and it works perfectly. Reads all music / etc off it.
