one thing that really bugged me about the original Htc one is the long charging time around 3.5 to 4 hours to fully charge,,
did they fix that with the M8??
Maybe the problem is the wall adapter and not the phone (on HTC One S, 200mAh output on Nexus 4 1,2A output)

Funny, I get this. I find the charging is really odd. Takes ages to go through a few percent, then jumps like 5% in about 5 mins. Anyway, all seems ok and discharge seems normal for me so I am not worried.
What I have noticed is that I get a much more even charge seemingly from my computers USB although of course it is a lot slower.
What charger are you using? I dont use the one the phone came with but I am using other HTC chargers. I doubt it makes a diff, but you never know.
My discharge rate is very strange. I can leave it on standby for ages and it will go down only a 1% or so. One minute after using it, the battery drops by a whole 5%-10%
I too get that, when in use can drop 5% right away, then some times 1%. Very strange.

I get that too! Probably battery calibration or software issue?

So, is this normal to wait 2h30min and maybe more (!) to fully charge the phone ?
new phone, original charger and original usb cable...
From about 15% mine takes 3 hours

Yes, normal - mine takes 2hrs 50mins which I think is not bad for such a large battery.
Although my battery bank charges my HOX in less time at 2hrs 35mins

this is ridiculous. charging for 3h and drains in 8h...
such an amazing device but useless when it comes to battery.
i miss the old school phones when you forget about battery and charging for a week.

How the hell are you draining in 8hrs - constant use?
Normal days without gaming gets me 17+ hrs
Even streaming all day via data connection gets me more than 8 hours.
I noticed when I got mine, I thought it had low battery as I was always using it, due to the 'ive got a New phone, can't leave it alone bug'
Normal usage, few calls, bit of browsing, bit of gameplay etc should get you through your working day quite easily.

You can't be serious... Yes the old school phones lasted longer because they didn't have 4.7" hd displays to power...

It does, but that is not good enough.
Without root and a battery bank it`s a pain in the ars.
Coming from Sensation which was the same in the beginning and now it`s a beast.

Was talking about battery only. One day it should be the same on 4.7" displays, hopefully.
Idk what everyone is complaining about. I came from an iPhone which had amazing battery life and my HOX is just as equally good.

@op, yes.
this is what i got last night before i plugged my phone in to charge.
i can easily get through a day without wondering where i can plug in my baby.
i get over a days use with my battery since the last software update... but charging time does seem fast.
is there such a thing as overcharging in terms of degrading battery life?
Please use one of the existing threads on battery life and charging time.
We already have plenty of them and would like to keep everything compact.

5-6 hrs sometimes...
My HOX charges really quickly, I usually charge from 25%(ish) to full in a couple of hours. Yes (2) hours.
Is this something I should be concerned about, as the battery could be filling to quickly?
And my drain is relativly good (touch wood) as I've never had my HOX die on me to date.

Are you using the USB charger? It takes me just a little over 3 hours to charge from ~5% to 100% using the wall plug, but this time will double if you use USB, since it draws half as much current (500mA instead of 1A). Also, it you're using the phone while it's charging, it will take longer, because it will charge slower (charging current = total current from charger - usage current).

I charged it from 38% and it took about 1.5 to 2 hours. It has an upgraded S4 Pro like the Nexus 4, so I assume it has the quickcharge part of the SoC that the Nexus 4 has.

I picked up my Nexus 7 yesterday. It is completly stock and I use the stock charger and cable. It charges very very slow. Like 30% in 2 hours.
Do you guys think this is a warranty issue?

I'd say it's some kind of issue. I get better than double that speed charging with the included cable. Might want to see about swapping that for a different one.

nah, unit is ok. change your cable. I'm using one from my ol' Desire, and I get charged from around 15-20 to 100% in 3 hours or so. Even faster if i shutdown my n7.2.
Good morning guys...
I am really impressed with the new pattern that OnePlus has introduced with the OP3, the DashCharger and its improvements over other patterns, as speed and better heat dissipation.
I do not have my OP3 yet, I live in Brazil and things are a little bit harsh here.. but I bought (imported) one and I am just waiting it to arrive.
I saw in many reviews that DashCharge takes about 1 hour to fill the battery and what I want is: you that already have the OP3 on hands, could give us a feedback about other type of charging
and the time it takes? Can you use a normal 5V1A adapter and another one that implements QC2.0 and post here?
I want that because I have 2 units of QC2.0 charger and with the new OP3 I do not intent to get rid of them if the time to full charge isn't too different and buying the special cable/charger for me (and maybe other)
could not be easy/cheap and maybe it does not compensate!
If no one could do that test, I will perform it myself when I get my OP3... till there, if you could help me, I will appreciate!
Thanks for now and sorry about english!
I have the original charger, but i had a Nexus 6P too, and the 6P used QC 3.0. The OnePlus 3 is charging a bit faster than the 3.0. OnePlus charges 3% in ~3minutes, and the 6P was like that. I think you should charge your phone with the original charger, but in fact you could use QC2 charger i think. Hope i helped (Sorry for bad English)
Thanks for reply,
I would like to know how many time does de OnePlus take to charge from 0 to 100% with Original DashCharger, a QC2.0 and a normal charger... if you could tell in minutes (average)
I have the HTC 10 and the OnePlus 3. The OnePlus 3 is drastically faster than the HTC 10 with Q QC 3.0. I remember walking away frm my OP3 for like 10 minutes, it had charged about 20%. In abut 30 minutes it's at 63% and my HTC 10 is at 44%. My OP3 fullyharges in about 72-74 minutes, my HTC 10 is aound 1 hour, 40 minutes.
74 min?
i get a rate of 2% per minute charge.
50min for full battery

QC3.0/3.0 is also much more heavily affected by heat (and as such, using the device), whereas Dash charging is not since heat is dissipated at the charger itself instead of at the phone.
a bit harder to find dash charging accessories though..... at least right now

It doesn't matter, download an app called Ampere and check the intensity, it charges with ~4A for the first ~30 minutes and then lowers down to ~2A.
Conclusion: It charges super fast only first 30 minutes and then it slows down.

I'm very familiar with it. My point is dash/quick charging is purposed for when your phone is near 0 and you're in a hurry, it will get you as much as it can as quick as it can but with lithium ion batteries it's causes too much damage to go all the way to 100%

Well that, and naturally all batteries tend to slow as they charge, not to prevent damage but just the way they work. The reason it's "0-60 in 30 minutes" and not "0-100 in 50 minutes" is that after 60, all modern phone batteries tend to cap off.
