[Q] How to overclock lupus gb kernel past 1.6 ghz? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've seen numerous users saying that they've overclocked all the way to 2.0 ghz on lupus, so I was wondering how you could do that. Any help would be appreciated.

Is that the only option? I thought lupus had more stuff in it.

Yes
Lupus doesn't support 2.0ghz because it isn't safe and may heart your phone

Hmm, guess I'll have to use extremekernel or doomkernel then.

Doomkernel rocks only stable up to 1.8ghz I found 2ghz very unstable
Sent from my LT28i using xda app-developers app

Welp. I just tried out Doomkernel and extreme kernel, and honest both of them were just too unstable for me. Not because of the overclocking, just kinda laggy when it comes to launching stuff. I think I'll be sticking with Lupus.

Is there a reason why I only have 631MB of RAM?

I have the GSM version that I got from handtec. I used Antutu tester and Android System Info and they give me Max RAM at 631MB. I have Android Revolution 1.3.2. with Franco's latest kernal

It's probably shared with the GPU, or reserved for the OS in some way.

Aww OK I was a bit scared. What about my CPU? I used setCPU to OC my phone to 1.4Ghz using the recommended settings, but once again antutu tester says I'm using only 2.388Ghz. Is that still OK?

I believe that's with both cores. Not 2.38 GHz per core... If that was the case your phone should be on fire.

Sounds more like Antutu is treating the dual core 1.2ghz as a single core, not correct but probably better than not counting the 2nd core.

My girlfriends phone lasted for 2 days ang 6 hours on stock rom without any tweaks like SuperCharger. Phone activity is texting, games, browsing using data network and music. So it shows that SGY can go for 48hours. My bad i just forgot to have a SS on it to show it to you.
I downclocked the cpu to 528 and min to 312. using setcpu

yea downclock possible but only on stock roms. why? not compatible with scripts and he says he downclocked it to 500 something mhz. but since doesnt have a kernel customed, it was only down to 312. tried it a thousand times. i got a CPU checker. overclock it to 1000mhz still have 832. so downclocking would still fall to default 312mhz. so till now u can do so as the author said but better for stock only. it will crash most of your apps on custom rom (so far i tried it on stock and creeds)

Yes it is possible... Use SetCPU to do that... Unfortunatly it needs Root Access... Gud Luck...
Mine only last for 20 hours at least, but after installing HYBRID rom the duration had increased substantially.
Guys, how long does your fully charged battery last on continuous internet 2g / 3g access?
in my phone, it lasted for about half a day only. how about the others.

As far as i know then it must be supported in kernel, if your current kernel does not allow it then it is a no go.

We need a kernel*-*

((Lt15i..))
hi guys
im wandering is there a kernel that makes my phone faster without overclocking it....for xperia ultimate HD 2
i'm using the stock kernel and
i dont care about the battery i just want my phone to be faster because its laggy...

Best kernel threads aren't encouraged as everyone has their own opinion and what's best for one person can be the worst for others. For that reason the thread is closed, just try them out yourself and decide what fits your needs.

Try reading their thread's OPs. They have loads of pertinent information.
KT's thread even specifies in its title...
