Try reading their thread's OPs. They have loads of pertinent information.
KT's thread even specifies in its title...

Stock ROM with overclock

Hey guys. I am just looking for completely stock ROM but with an overclocked GPU and CPU. Does anyone know if something exists like that? I have looked through the Dev section but a lot of ROMs are tweaked a fair bit. Thanks in advance
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Just flash a custom kernel only. You don't need a rom for that.

James Bond kernel by ogdobber is what you are looking for.
My grandma beat me down and took my nexus. Sent from a jitterbug with beats by dre.
Yes, use the kernel from Og dobber together with one of the 4.0.2 stock roms which are available here. I'm using this combination and it is working awesome.
But try first the 1.0.2 of ogdobber, because not every Gnex can handle the 1.01 or 1.0.

It won't work on stock because stock is on 4.0.2. OP, is there a reason why you won't use custom roms? You're changing the kernel, which will most likely alter your OTAs for future updates coming from Google. If you're going to mod, mod the whole way don't halfway it.

I like the pure google experience. Had issues in the past with FC and freezing etc with my old GS2 which left a sour taste in my mouth. I also get the feeling that tweaking the phone degrades its performance over time... could just be a placebo but it just feels dirty lol
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Actually I'm in same boat as the OP. Just yakju'ed my SGN (maguro) to 4.2.1, and wanted to know which is the best kernel to use of o/cing the stock Google ROM.
Have had mixed feelings about custom ROMs, so I just want to speed up the stock Google experience

Kernel on stock 4.0.4

What kernels are you guys running with the leaked 4.0.4.

As the other guy said...there aren't any yet. You can't use the older kernels with the 4.0.4 update because they updated the radios and all kinds of other stuff. The other kernels would be using older drivers not configured correctly to work with the rest of the system.
Soooo there aren't any yet.
This is incorrect. Feel free to use any kernel that also works on 4.0.3.
Yea I saw someone say they had good luck with Franco's kernel.

Whats The Best Kernel For T-Mobile S3

hello ive been trying out all the kernels for the T-Mobile S3. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note and the new kernel for that just came out and I am getting better scores on the Note then i am on the S3 but I thought the S3 i ssuppose to have a better faster CPU then the note. Im getting about 6500 on the S3 using AnTuTu Benchmark . The Note is giving me about 7500 . So Im just wondering what Kernel will be the best as of right now for the S3. The S3 is fast no matter what score it gives me but im disabled and cant move around too much and get boared so i just tweek on all my Android toys and I wont lie I have a iPad 3 too to kill time. Thanks in advance to who ever points me in the right direction. Thanks again. :cyclops:

I tried versions 8 and 9, and both break support for my 64gb sd card. It tries to mount and then says Safe to remove immediately. Restoring to stock fixes it.

I would definitely try Trinity 45b. Using Quadrant standard, I'm getting better scores at the same cpu frequency as stock kernel. The wifi signal and connections has been immensely improved. Night and day improvement. Wifi calling works, solid now. Effin sweet. I would definitely give this one a shot. I'm really trying to find some fault with it but it's getting hard.

Are we closer to 4.2.1 than we think?

This.
Obviously you guys havent been around long. When ICS was first leaked for the skyro, we all flashed away and had no issues at all... other than a wonky rotation. User yaldak(I believe) made us all a rotation fix and all was well.
The only difference between the skyro and the herc is the lte radio, and the accelerometer orientation.

Seriously, how is this still a question? Skyrocket ROM's work fine for our phones, flash a herc kernel and done.

samsung hercules, samsung skyrocket and samsung celox are bases from each other, so yea, they are the same in kernel, board ( all of them are msm8660 type).
Well now that we got that partly settled, yea they got a lot of their top devs on it so hopefully they make it compatible
They still have to make it compatible for hercules. For example if u try flashing blinky revenge then it won't work. He didn't add the extra step
So yeah we can flash every rom and Kernel from skyrocket as long as we use a rotation fix after and that they add the extras to make it compatible

Lean kernel question

So I've been really looking into lean kernels, cause let's face it, smartphones don't have very good batter life. So my question is, do you lose performance using a lean kernel?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
It all depends on settings and device. I have never lost performance when using a kernel. Although I do prefer KT747 over Lean because it has a lot more options.
