[Q] LG G PRO F240S any root exploits for kitkat - LG Optimus G Pro

Just interested in anyway to root my f240s which has been stock updated to 4.4.2 kitkat, the usual autoroot method does not work with the new update, any way to root manually with adb. hope someone can help. Thanks for reading.

You may have to wait a while on that one my friend. Kit Kat is coming to the optimus g pro series phones slowly so you're gonna have to give it time. I'm sure once the update is out in the masses our devs can start working on rooting methods.

I'm not sure about E99* devices, but it will work, if it has same AP.
Just double-click Run.bat and follow instructions, and you'll be rooted.
P.s don't post this on Korean site Devoloid, LG Deivce World. I already posted.

I was really shocked, Stock recovery can use sideload !
Thanks OP! This works like a charm!

Thanks it work like charm on G2 kitkat 4.4.2
why recovery in this root is old ? how to update to latest ?
The Run.bat did not work for me because it kept saying adb.exe is not a command.
I solved opening a command window in the folder and following the run.bat commands manually.
worked perfectly

I rebooted in recovery after root, and I found the stock recovery again.
I assume this doesn't flash a custom recovery.
Just few questions: Will this root Optimus G Pro on KitKat only ?
I mean, if I didn't update and I were on 4.1.2, Could I use this root method to root my phone?
So if the answer at the previous question is a "yes" and since this root method is working on G pad and G2 too, Would it be possible to use this root method on G2 4.2.2 too ? Thanks.

Not sure about it, but both of them are possible, theoretically.
Any phone with system partition on /dev/.../msm_sdcc.1/... with stock recovery can use this tool.

Well this is root tool, so you should update your device first.
Use LG Mobile Suoport Tool.

No, you don't.
Just install it, connect your device with LG Software mode, and run update.
Note : updating your device will unroot it and custom recovery will be removed.

Did you select "apply update from adb" on recovery mode?
Yes, I did. After I selecting ADB, the bat file tried to send the zip to my phone but then there is a message, device not found.
I installed the LG driver and the USB driver from SDK tools.
I can see that Windows found the phone from the device manager but it is not installed properly. I tried to update the driver by pointing to the INF file in the SDK usb driver folder but still no luck.

I can root my phone finally. I just used a Windows 7 PC and it works. I only have the LG USB driver installed.

tnx for answer but i want to update official rom!
Use a computer that runs the LG suite software and do a complete new install.
If it's only rooted, you can unroot it and then do the OTA.
Though you may want to use the 18a update instead due to the gamma fix.

Yes only rooted
How to unroot?
A factory reset on most stocks unroots.
I rooted with Kingo Android Root, it has an option to unroot.
Other rooting scripts/tools for the pad may have it too.

Think I read somewhere some people had To flash original v10a then root with...don't remember which one, and then they were able to flash a later version and still maintain root.

Stumproot works good but it costed me a motherboard after 15 days of rooting. So consider that but stumproot will get the root done

Rooted and Accidentally installed the 9/10/2014 OTA and now stuck in TWRP loop?

First of all, I do not take credit for any of this.
I rooted my LG G3 and then yesterday I accidentally installed the OTA (9/10/2014) from T-mobile and when the LG G3 rebooted I got stuck in the a TWRP boot loop.
I found the solution to this in the LG G2 Forum. I thought that somebody looking for a solution in this LG G3 Forum could benefit from all the trouble I went through until I found a solution
This is the link to follow the instructions

This one is better and you can install full ROM instead of OTA.

Thank you, I will give it try later. I was reading that the OTA update addressed (do not know if it means "improved") the wifi calling and also the auto brightness function:good:
The most noteworthy is the touchscreen sensitivity.
It's totally workable with glass plate.
The command line works well for me to get out of bootloop.
You can root using Stump Root, I got rooted right after new update

Rooting w/ Kingroot (if it works) is only temproot, as soon as you reboot the phone root is gone. So this tute doesn't really give you the whole process to achieve perm root on your G3.

You have to download the latest version of Kingroot. I think it's 4.9.something. The links on some of the pages are to earlier versions that didn't work for me either. Search for the latest Kingroot version. I don't think it was on the main website.
To be honest I don;'t like Kingroot at all.
It installs it's self as a system app and puts this purify program on (and btw it's a temp root on the LG G3, if you restart , you have to do it again). And it seems to have issues with SuperUser once you flash the ROM. Some appz would get root access and others wouldn't. It was quite annoying. I am waiting for a Stock.zip of MM to come out before I go back to it. For now I would stick to LP 30E Bloatware free. Very easy to root.
And if anyone that is reading this knows how to get MM to stop asking you if you want to wipe your ass for every little thing tell me how to disable it. Every time I connect it to my PC, it's like "are you sure you want to allow USB connection?". No I slipped and it plugged in all by it's self! Even when doing some of the most basic stuff, it asks 'Allow' or 'Deny'? Extremely annoying. The only thing that is a plus is the Bluetooth function. It doesn't ask you to enter the '0000' or '11111' code when connecting different devices like it does on LP, KK, JB, and ICS.
Edit: The Kingroot version that worked for me was NewKingrootV4.9.6_C151_B329_en_release_2016_09_30.apk. I think the one on the Kingroot website is older and named "NewKingrootV4.9.6_C151_B309_en_release_2016_08_18_105203.apk". Just do a search for the former and it should work to temp Root MM. Remember, if you restart the phone the Root will go away.
Once you temp root it, download TWRP's latest version, twrp-3.0.0-0-d851.img or what ever and put it in the phones main directory. Then download the terminal emulator that has the green android fella on it from the play store and type these commands in:
su
dd if=/sdcard/twrp-3.0.0-0-d851.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
reboot recovery
(Just make sure in the line "dd if=/sdcard/twrp-3.0.0-0-d851.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery" you type the name of the TWRP img you put in the phone.
lg g3 d851 30g not root kingroot.apk
hy guys
plse help me lg g3 d851-30g devices unrooted.
Kingroot 4.1 can root Kitkat/LP but not Marshallow. I tried Kingroot 5.2 on MM did not work either so I end up downgrade to KK/LP and root it. Then can flash custom roms. For MM I seen method on other forum just a bit complicated to do it.

Try this method from PonchosoftX and if it's unclear, then I'm sure that he would be glad to help. Perhaps if you're successful, then post any tips or tricks in this thread.
