Do they work with the Xperia Arc?
Apple earbuds with microphone don't work with my phone, so I ask this question before ruining 60 bucks. If they don't work, are there any adapters available to make them work?
Thanks

Yes use a simple extension jack (20cm) ,or jack adapter (jackmâle 3.5 mm / jack femelle 3.5 mm)
the fault is from microphone.
So just a small stereo extension cable? Thanks!

Yes, personnaly I use a double jack, but is same.
You can use all buttons and so if you buy a CTIA to OMTP adapter, which will not cost you that much.

Would it be possible to wire headphones and charger to a mini usb plug in order to charge and listen to headphones at the same time? When using Gps and headphones battery life is limited.

How about an adapter that provides a regular 12V DC jack for charging and a 3.5mm stereo mini jack for output to the car stereo AUX input?
Now that WOULD be useful. Maybe the Brodit active mount provides something like that?

your priers have been answered. Check this out:

Almost. If I was being picky (which I am I'd say the second USB port makes it a bit bulky. Ideally it would just have 1 USB and 1 3.5mm jack.
No rush though. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more.

Although needless to say the best solution always ends up being twice the price of any other:-(
Well done everyone.
Microphone lost
Hi, I've bought a splitter from here: http://www.valuemax.co.uk/product_details.php?id=7184
It works fine but I've lost the microphone feature when answering calls.
Does anyone have any idea what pin-out wire I need to modify and attach and external mic?
Thanks Paul
does anyone know if i can use a usb to 3.5mm converter and use a headset with a mic on it (such as the iphone headset) to talk through? i prefer the wired plugin rather than the bluetooth one

i dont think so.. they do make a 3.5 mm converter though that has a mic option built into it. Not sure if it's what you're looking for but just know its available. Here's an example of one: http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_900000_11000048&products_id=5469

I wanted to share my purchase with you, Sony ECM-DS70P for £2.70 from ebay. I'm sure some people will appreciate this, because the sound on video recordings is...I'll just say not that good.
the Mic is obviously a fake Sony but still much better.
a couple reviews from youtube(there are plenty more):

You can check the mic on ebay:

Enjoy
Edit: apparently u need to be on 2.3.5 or above to get ur ext. Mic to work
Hi,
But it worked on the SG2?!?!?!
How? The 3,5mm jack isn´t just for output?

No, think about what happens when you talk from handsfree
try recording video with your handsfree that the phone came with and you will see the difference

Right, the handsfree. Forgot that
Nice finding!
I think this Adaptor from Ebay must work - it is for Iphone, but the 3.5 audio connector is compatible with the SGS2
Alternet you can look on this pages: http://www.kvconnection.com/iPhone-Adapter-Cables-s/8404.htm or https://www.kvconnection.com/Articles.asp?ID=165

I've been using the microphone adapter part of an HS U350, but it's started to wear out.
Is there anything better available for the HOX? I've got decent headphones, hence I want an inline adapter, not a whole headset. Something with more controls would be nice
Thanks.

I appreciate the reply. The reason I'd like to use my existing headphones is that I have 3 good pairs and I listen to music. If a call comes in, then I can answer it without any messing around. Looks like I'll just buy another HS U350.
What about a Bluetooth adapter with a 3.5mm plug and a microphone. Is there anything like that? :fingers-crossed:
I think there are multiple of via bluetooth adapters, for example Jabra Street 2, and if I recall right nokia had one too. You just need to search one thats available in your area. (These are available at least in Scandinavia)

I don't have an opinion either way. Their website doesn't make it easy to find products though. What's the Beats adapter called?

Wasn't he looking for a Bluetooth adapter? To me seems that the item in the link is only a cord for the Beats Solo HD headphones

Yeah, either Bluetooth or a cable I can plug my headphones into. Does that beats cable have male plugs on both ends?? If so, how does one use it with headphones?

Oh okay, sorry missed the cable part
If that cable is indeed the same that comes with the headphones (and it does look like one) then it's a male to male cord. I don't think it's compatible with other headphones (at least not with common ones) considering the Solo HDs have a 3,5mm jack to plug the cord into.

First time owning a phone with no audio jack.
Any recommended USB-C to Audio Jack adaptor?
Currently using Apple's earpods as my earphone on my OP5.
I don't really mind that the intended functions of the earphone buttons don't work when connected to an Android device.
As long as the sounds is very good and the mic works, it's fine for me.
Thanks in advance.
