One week ago I purchased the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. I had a Galaxy Tab 10.1 before and that one worked like a charm when rooted. I'm planning on rooting this GT 3 10.1 as well, but I know that newer Samsung devices have a so called flash counter. Does the Tab 3 10.1 have one of those build in as well? If it does, is there some way to avoid its trigger when I'm flashing a custom rom? (I'm asking this because if anything happens to the device I can just flash stock rom without leaving a single trace like I once did on my previous Tab. I also don't like a large yellow triangle at bootup, it gives me the creeps like it did on my S2)
While I'm at it, what is my SM- type number? I can't find it anywhere. (since people tend to use that type number on the forums)
Going off previous posts the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 doesn't have a flash counter or it's hidden from view, but you can try and check by booting into Download Mode (With the device off hold Volume Down, Power and menu buttons together), if it has one it'll say something like "Custom Binary Download: No" if it doesn't then it's either not got one or it's hidden, you should be OK either way.
This is just an example of how it looks if it's has one but as above I don't think it does, same for Yellow Triangle as well.

As for SM- type number I think that's just the model number so for Tab 3 7.0 it's SM-T210, for 8.0 it's SM-T310, but for 10.1 it's called GT-P5210.

Well, thanks alot. I went into download mode and confirmed it doesn't have the Custmo Binary Download section in it, so I quess I'm safe. Thanks for your help. Also thanks for clearing that type number thing for me.

There are times your Galaxy Y may start causing you problems such as hangs at certain points, apps force-closing, not allowing you to move forward and so on after installing a faulty app.
If you didn't know, Android can also be booted into Safe Mode just like how you boot your Windows PC and the main point of it is of course for troubleshooting issues. Thanks to Safe Mode, you will be able to uninstall unresponsive apps and fix your phone.
Procedure:
First Turn off your phone
Start the phone normally
You will see the Galaxy y logo
Just after it disappears...hold the menu key
Dont let it go until you feel a small vibration followed by a slightly bigger vibration
You have successfully entered Safe Mode

btw good guide
The question / problem is pretty straightforward like the title suggests.
Upgraded from:
Android version: 4.3
Baseband: P605XXUBMJ4
Build number: JSS15J.P605XXUBMJ9
to:
Android version: 4.4.2
Baseband: P605XXUCNE2
Build number: KOT49H.P605XXUCNE2
Flashed using Odin, no wipe.
Installed custom recovery: TWRP 2.7.1.0
Rooted with Towelroot
Installed Xposed Framework
Running Wanam Exposed, Instagram downloader, ForceNewActivityTask and Greenify.
S-Pen gone nuts, before this my S-Pen was all okay. Does not detect the pen on screen, only sometimes and is wayyyy off.
Mate I am no expert, I knoxed my unit for my lack of research but if you are in the same situation as me I would do the following:
1) VolumeUp+Home+Power
2) Once in recovery mode, navigate to Wipe Data/Factory Reset and select that with whichever the select key is for your device (usually Home or Power). Your phone will now appear to do absolutely nothing except display some spinning graphics or something similar for a few minutes before exclaiming that it has completed the wipe. For the slightly more paranoid among us, you’ll also want to select the Wipe Cache option, which will result in a few more seconds of spinning graphics.
3) reboot
This will wipe all your data and see how that goes, failing that I would do the following:
1) Wipe the data and cache.
2) Reflash with the Nordic rom
Hopefully either of those will work and sort your issue, but you will again to root if reinstall your rom, use Geohot's towelroot at least this won't trigger knox.
I am still learning about Knox myself to be honest and I would strongly suggest you read up on it to not void your warranty before doing anything. I unfortunately did not and have a unit not covered under warranty.
Good luck mate.

Already tried that sire.. Also *#0808 9900 2663 7284 etc... But fruitless... *#*#4636#*#* seems more relevant but his can't to set the network... think I tried flashing a 9305 param the last time when I had this problem. The persistent popup dialog is irritating...
Try to use root explorer..root explorer required su permission..After that try to r/o or r/w data from system..okey..you just enter the app..find system/app/wireless app..press and hole until you see the option..

I would guess memory is broke or corrupted. (so it's brick) Did it shut itself down when battery went flat? Did it turn off normally?
But normally (if your phone is still able to boot normally) when stuck at "initialization" it's a communication issue, so try use another usb cord, usb port, different version of Odin (older or newer).
Try shut PC & phone down, pull battery reinsert after a minute and try again.
[ didn't newer version of Odin have problem flashing Philz? I'd recommend TWRP from neozone thread anyhow].

Yes, in fact it connects normal but a little before spoiling the philz was running, however, it started installing the AOSP rom and in the middle the screen erased, I suspect it is the hd ... Now it just turns on the Odin and the screen Vibrate and black fics in Recovery mode (no signal). I tried the recovery with 3 different computers and 2 different cables ... several stockroms and several versions of Odin .. but nothing worked.
Hi there,
I have an issue with my S-Pen. it suddenly have stopped working with my device.
I own a N976B Note.
I guess it is an issue with the firmware, because the stylus is recognized on my other devices and the other styluses are not recognized on my note.
To help you understand the history i want to sum up some steps.
1. my phone had a t-obile branding, witch i wanted to remove, so i flashed another csc rom to get rid of that. (back in 2020)
2. After some annoyance by advertisement and the wish to get root and a custom rom, i installed Dr.Ketan Rom and was pretty satisfied, but the hassle with manual updates was a draw back, so i decided to roll back to complete stock to get OTA.
3. After some huslte and some rookie mistakes by trying to install a n975 stock rom on my device, i figured it out and flashed the matching rom. but now the stylus or the digitizer seems to be corrupted. the firmware version is not recognized by the phone. see the screenshot below:

After some attempts to get it running again, i installed the very stock rom for my phone several times. (N976BXXS7FUI1)
I even checked "re-partition" and flashed with the matching pitfile in odin.
But there still no luck.
do you guys have some tips?
big thanks in advance!
greeting
Play with it. Spen's can be ornery as mules, once you get it going you're good.
They don't like being neglected for months.
My stock one was neglected. Took a couple days of playing with and then boom it stated charging like nothing ever happened.
Until it shows it's taking a charge it will do nothing. It will play dead.
Try clearing the system cache, reset network, pray to the pagan gods, play with it more... in and out, etc. Try enabling multiple spens, try disabling same... don't cross your spens, use the one for the 10+
Guess it just needs a good fk to get it going
I have 2 10+'s, both stock* and both run very well. Loading custom roms isn't needed, can kill desirable features and makes troubleshooting** much more difficult. That said if you're back on a stock rom the spen and associated hardware/firmware/software are likely good... it's just showing you who's boss. Play with it at least once a day, it will likely perk up in a week and stop it's wallflower act.
*with a package disabler and heavily optimized. I never update if it's running fast and stable; many apps are still running on their factory load as well. One 10+ is running on Pie, one on Q.
**Do Not enable power management. Make sure you didn't disable a needed parent/dependency apk! Do not ever, ever load Android 11 or higher, the kiss of death. Of course I could be mistaken, but probably not...
