Hello are there any more kit kat roms for E975, apart from CM11 and houstonn's aosp?
currently i am using houstonn's aosp
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47061171&postcount=1
it is working flawlessly. but some camera issues. compared to newer phones the optimus g's 13mp camera is a bit crappy, but after the aosp rom yesterday it has gone from "ok" to looking like a 2mp feature phone i am serious. it is such a shame that i might have to go back to stock just because of it, but everything else is perfect: responsiveness, speed, battery life (appears to be longer now but need a few days to know).
also this is really weird the display appears to have changed its color profile dramatically, stock lg was cold color hues, but after the rom it is more saturated almost like amoled.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320817
also why does this index thread not include any kit kat roms?
You can check this out
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612818
try mokee it is perfect 4.4 kit kat rom
thanks for the responses, i am using cm11 nightly + faust93's kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528556
the outcome is near-perfect, no huge issues. maybe drains battery a bit faster than aosp, and upon boot there is always a popup saying that the
calendar has closed.
the camera focus is pretty much fixed, and i think the picture quality is comparable to stock, but the camera app itself sometimes closes.
the volume buttons are backwards
rocket player's widget don't display the track and pic of song playing
can't get dashclock to work
does anyone know how to use stock roms' apks? i tried to use the camera app ripped from G2 stock rom, but it seems to be a more complicated matter, not as easy as copying and running a ripped apk. i would like to use the stock LG music app, its pretty good you can delete tracks from the phone in the playlist view. most players just let you delete tracks from playlist but not from phone.

If i'm not wrong, if u want to use stock apps u must find ported apps for CM11, and if u want try Mokee with their kernel, it battery friendly and it's damn stable.

If you mean MHL, yes it's working. But on cm only in latest nightlies.
oh my god thanks for the tip on mokee, it is the best i've ever used out of 3 roms, it looks like a winner and will be staying for nightlies from now on.
the camera seems to be back to its capabilities as stock.
i especially love how mokee retains some elements from stock like scrolling effects and some icons!

i'm on mokee but i saw few people on dokdo rom and they say everything nice about that rom, but i didn't try it for now mokee is the best
Did you try Commotio? It's a slightly different version of Vanir. I am using it as my Main Rom for daily use and I am very satisfied until now.
Though I have no experience with houstonn's aosp Rom.
now using Mokee but seem like battery life is not as good as 4.3 liquid solid

well it depends on how you use it, i think mokee battery life is not great but still better than stock. there is only so much you can do with 2100mah, and i think ips panels just use more battery.
a few days ago i put in the f93 kernel by houstonn but it didn't work.
so i put in the next nightly but i lost 13mp camera, only 8 mp now (but at least auto-focus is functioning)... think i downloaded the wrong one
there is also some baidu and their own mokee market, you cannot uninstall it. but it is fair, as they have the right to administer their work the way they see fit.
Can anyone dry on kitkat rom droidcam app (make your phone in to webcamera with USB cable)). I've tried in every kitkat rom, and the wideo is not ok. Maybe it's only my problem?
I'm back again.

Hi, just a quick report from V17 I had yesterday :
Not good at all for me :
- always a little latency before acting. Really noticealble on wake up.
- Same wifi bug as in stock one (scratch after airplane mode)
- long black screen during synchros this morning
- multiple android.process.media alerts. I had to reboot twice.
- with all that I can't say if it save battery as all the reboot consumes a lot...
I went back on stock ROM which is really more responsive for me.
Will try V18 but tonight. I need my phone at work today!
Are logcats required or unusefull for you?

A lot of those problems will be because I mucked about with memory allocation, but that should be fixed on Alpha 18. Logcats are more useful than nothing, last kmsg is good too, both is perfect. I expect the WiFi thing will be a ROM problem, and as to the latency I'm not sure. I tried to implement a GPU on input thing, maybe it doesn't work too well. You don't have ART enabled do you? Regarding the media crashes, are these random or happen at a particular moment, e.g. playing music, games, videos?
Thanks alot
PS as these are alpha I wouldn't suggest anyone else using these during work
evrything seems to be a okay this way. the wifi from airplane mode is from the rom, noticed it before installing ur kernal. no lag here. battery seems to be holding up well. idk if its the kernal or because i have radio turned off but together they seem to be doing great. THANK YOU. only time i got lag was when i went from dyninteractive to powersave, but since evrything is going well just went back to dyn
Awww great to see you again my friend
Will test it tonight. Only for flinny's alpha3 or also AOSB 1.2.9 / 1.3.0?

Yeah this is only for KitKat ROMs, so the ones you mentioned; it won't boot on Jelly Bean.
To everyone: if I were to compile a ROM, what would you think of a revival of cn.fyodor's AOSP 4.2.2 with added features? Or any other suggestions?

NO ART for me

media crashs are random. Sometime related to nothing but it seems to happen when working and screen goes off
I had to wipe things and reboot twice to fix it
Will report if it comes back
V18 far betteer. But I still notice this latency with black screen which is longer during synchro

Are you reading my mind ? I've already been thinking about porting 3.4 (with help) for a while. It would be hard though, so in the meantime any ROM suggestions?
@Kéno40 I'm not sure what this latency problem is, I'll compile a version without the GPU input handler implemented when I have time and see if that makes a difference. Other than that I really can't figure out why you're having a problem, it's fine for me at least. What do you mean by synchro?

I would be interested. I have compiled the lastest flinny merged with the lastest cyanogen frameworks. It boots but the camera doesn't work. So I have been looking further, but still playing around. I need to increase my virtual linux box diskspace, so I am working on reconfiguring it b/c of lack of diskspace.
I would love to see AOSP KK rom for our device. Just plain and simple.....(thats just my opinion, dont know about others)
Thanks...

And how about BT call audio? Is it working correctly with your Kernel? It is the only think I am missing wiht all the KitKat ROMs and it is definetely Kernel drivers fault... to be honest... the only roms that had it working since GB were those of 4.2.2...
And for me it would make a big help for my phone usage, cause I spend lot of the time in the car...

In fact I don't use the lockscreen so when I tackpad wkae it, I arrive to the homescreen. But- I notice with it a little latency / black screen for less than half a second, but noticeable.
I cut Synchro during night because of the wifi problem. On the morning I put it back. It goes to slleep (the phone, not me ! ). If I wake up, I have a 1-2 seconds black screen.

I'm gonna try Paranoid Android, CM10.2 (Android 4.3) base unless anyone has objections to 4.3, it was stable and working as far as I remember. I don't know if 4.2.2 can be used for PA anymore.

Hei guys,
Most probably this question has been asked already, but since then more updates had been followed.
I'm running a FreeXperia 4.1.2 ROM on my Xperia S, and I would like to change to a newer version (preferable 4.4.x) that is fitting a day-by-day use. What would you recommend me?

If You want extremely stable, go for Mokee. We still have official support from it. Second most stable according to Me is Carbon, but it has less frequent updates.
mokee?
Don't u have force closes ?
I think crDROID is most stable if your looking for KitKat rom
Never-ever use CrDroid for daily-use, it's kinda nice rom although you'll get alot (well, a few but still) of random reboots, it has very much customization options but with cost of stability.
Carbon Rom was quite nice 4.4.4 but the battery lasts half day with it...so it's also bad idea to use it.
I also used AOSPX, Paranoid, CM 11 and Mokee but can't say much about them because they were on my XS only for a few minutes - didn't liked any of them but I've heard much good things about AOSPX so you can try that one.
Otherwise I don't recommend any 4.4 roms, better stick to 4.1
I would recommend using PA or Carbon, both are stable ROMs of 4.4.4 for Xperia S. Carbon has more customization than PA, but PA is like semi-lollipop. Both give you 721 MB of RAM against 621 MB of stock JB.

AOSPX works very well. Only problem is you can't use your phone for calling. Oops.
Call volume does not do anything AND the other end can't hear you. So if you don't want to talk with anyone it's afine rom

Good for you but it doesn't do much for me.
And for the record, I just had to completely wipe my XS so it's not likely that either.
I guess I'll give PA a shot and if it won't work, I'll go back to 4.1. I'n any case I'm just using the phone as for a 2nd sim card to pick up calls and little else. Stock rom has this aggravating bug with PIN codes where the android phone will keep on crashing, so..
The best overall rom so far
For me the smoothest, fastest and most stable is the carbon rom build 20140808-1848
Also customization options available... try it you wont regret it...
I experienced crdroid, it's a great rom but has some bugs and reboots a few times in a day. I have been using CARBON rom (20141103 build) for 3 weeks, and I'm very happy with it. It's very stable for me.
Well, Paranoid android v4.4.4 also had the same very low voice problem in-call. At least the other guys can hear ME but I can't really hear THEM. I also grabbed the low voice fix and installed it but it didn't help.
I think I'll check the OpenSEMC-U 10.1 now, lots of people seem to like it. (that's 4.2)
Nope, same problem. 4.2.2 CM10.1 has very very low volume in-call as well. And, yes, I did wipe, install new kernel blah bloody blah blah.
*sigh* I guess it's back to the official "android phone has stopped" firmware :crying:
Try LP nAOSP or AOSP, they are better then 4.4
I've been running CM since about March this year, still have numerous glitches
Random reboots, lag, newest problem is a loud continious noise from the speaker that requires me to reboot the phone
Im considering a full wipe and reinstall of the latest version of CM12.1
Coming from a Nexus device, I hoped CM on my G3 would be 'stable' now, and pretty bug free, its still annying having to play with CPU governors etc. CM keeps getting changes, but I see very little change on my phone. I would rather efforts went into fixing these bugs than new features.
Can anyone recommend the any particular ROMs ? Dont want to go away from CM, but its driving me crazy now!

Ill check out some of those. Dont really like LG's stock ROM though. Traditionally first thing with a new phone is to wipe it and install CM
you can try xenonHD or telsa,
I am with CloudyG3 2.5 but I would to try an AOSP ROM, which one do you recommend for daily use (stable and fast). I know that one of the main weaknesses is the poor quality of the camera...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-euphoria-os-1-0-t3048515
You can try this rom
As stock rom, clear cloudy 2.5 was stable and as far as aosp roms, xenonhd is the best for me as a daily driver, or euphoria 1.1 but this one had some problems at least for me.

Sorry , because I am a Vietnamese , so my english is not perfect
Well, I decided to test the rom. Up to now I only noticed the following :
When I set Open Camera to HDR, after about 5 seconds the screen goes black and I found no way to get back at it without rebooting. Maybe, that's what @ShadySquirrel was working on before his device had USB problems.
On both Bliss and Slim, if you reboot while on LTE, when you get back at the home screen you'll notice you have no signal. Thus, the best way is changing to 3G before rebooting, and then changing again to LTE after the phone has restarted.
Mokee still has this same problem. However, up to now, it seems to be more stable.
For the rest, I'd say it's pretty smooth. No screen glitches whatsoever.
It has most feature Slim does, but what I miss is more about some design details that I eventually could try to request them later...
I really recommend moving to it as it seems like it has been developed and tested up to the last release. So, you'll surely find a level of stability we didn't have on lollipop.

If that happens in other apps, you have your culprit: PCC commit for kernel/updates for LiveDisplay in device tree.

I really recommend moving to it as it seems like it has been developed and tested up to the last release. So, you'll surely find a level of stability we didn't have on lollipop.

Can you please test it few days and tell if black screen appears anywhere else except camera app(and better don't use stock camera)?

I was until some days ago. But I had problems with the screen going black in some inconvenient moments. For example when I was driving somewhere I didn't know very well and had to reboot to get back with waze.
Thus, I went back to bliss but then I had sudden reboots that had the same effects as black screens while I was driving.
Well, to wrap up I'd recommend Mokee as long as your needs won't be much affected if a reboot is needed. It really is a smooth rom.
Oh, I didn't test bluetooth...
Anyway, I am posting to their g+ community right now pointing at that bug. Maybe they can do something about it.
BTW, if anybody decides to test Vanir, please share the experience.
Since yesterday I've decided to try the latest wild kernel with mokee again.
Up to now no black screens.
If something else happens I'll report back.
hello g0at1 i dont know if you been using an lg optimus g pro for a long time but i have buts its like all roms for the e980 have flashes for black screen and i wonder if does the mokee for the e980 also causes ur screen to get hot too cuz for my lg e980 screen gets hot near the home button from the different roms such as carbon rom which is the current rom im using and other roms such as cynogenmod and resurrection remix and please reply quickly becuz im so frustrated with this phone for a while now even though i have a big battery for it for 9300mah
Hey!
I have my G Pro since 2013.
Different from other roms, Mokee doesn't overheat. Even if you don't use it with wild kernel. However, with wild kernel I have had no black screens in a week.
Then, you should try it.
Well, I'm back to report that although I didn't have black screens in two weeks, I did have some screen flickering and they would only go away after a reboot.
I now think they've been blind building Mokee for our device for some time. Thus, I'm back at slim following @ShadySquirrel advice to try different governors in order to avoid rebooting.
I'm using Intelimm right now. Let's see if it'll reboot some time.
Previously I had tried Inteliactive and intelidemand... Both rebooted. Then, I checked kmsg and I did not find any dsp subsystem error.
As of right now I'm convinced that lg ogp doesn't react too well with the lollipop, regardless what flavor of rom. If it's not one problem, then it's another. As much I love this device, I really don't think it can be a stable device running anything more than the kitkat. Because with the lollipop, all the issues were never really fixed. Instead, they're merely are patched over, as if they're "duct taped" together to keep from falling apart. Which can't hide any of the problems for long. So as much as I hate to admit and tell you, no matter what combo you try, there is no way to make this device run well, while it's running any of the lollipop rom.

I went back to SlimLP. Only this time I'm using adaptative governor.
Also, I'm using Kernel Adiutor v2.0 and LMK set to aggressive.
I noticed that in my device this combination worked well.
After that, no more random reboots.
But I have it pretty clear, my next phone will be a nexus again...
Just don't know yet if I'll opt for the 6P or nexus 2016...
