Is this normal? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I can see the unevenness of the screen most when I'm on Internet apps. I can also notice it on keyboad. And sometimes opening xda when its dark grey. Is this normal or should i exchange it? Will attach picture. Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure if you able to see the screen shot I posted. The right side part horizontal of my screen is darker than the half left side. I can even notice the color difference on keyboard. Will try and take more pic.

I have read other posters ( I think on Amazon Note 3 reviews ) about this being a problem on some of the phones. Notably when there are dark screens you can see light on one side and dark on the other. Like the color is fading across the display.

Just a heads up if there is an issue with your lcd a screenshot will not replicate it as the screen is grabbed from the framebuffer you will need to grab a shot of the issue with a digital camera.

Kinda a sorta true. My S4 had those verticle lines going down the screen when a grey background was displayed. Screen shot did show it. However when my Note 3 went green hue once the screen shot as you quiet rightly mentioned did not show it.

WEIRD! Where is your battery screen refresh button located? Mine is different!

Riddle me this! Go to your battery settings and notice the location of the refresh button for the screen. I bet it's on the top right. GSM/CDMA no difference. Well, mine is on the bottom. Same build, same rev, same kernel. What is going on? Who can figure this out? Challenge initiated!
Yeah mine is on the top right corner. That's strange. Lol

Mines on the bottom. Just noticed that it moved recently (yesterday). I thought it was a ROM or 4.0.3 change that I failed to notice.
EDIT: uhhh ok weird... it moved back. Top right.
did you change your screen density?
Changing it changes A LOT of placement of buttons in apps because the OS/app thinks youre a tablet with the high screen res and lower density.
AOSP ICS on my G2 shows it on the bottom. Maybe it does have something to do with density?
Nope, no change to screen density. This is new, 3 days old. Don't even have apps loaded. As close to factory as possible.
I have not touched my density.
OP have you tried rebooting?

Yep rebooted just now. No change.
Mine is at the bottom. Not rooted. No changes. Always been there.

I think it's on the bottom when the list is short (not scrollable). I've seen mine in both positions.
Why would anyone want to change the screen density on this phone? Is it possible that it's due to an update? I'm still on 4.0.1 here

320 density (stock) looks horrible on a 4.65" screen @ 720 res, imo - things are WAY too large
Im at 280 right now, but some like 241 or 240.

doesnt matter especially you have a 4.5" screen. a lower density would definitely make things look nicer, especially when you use a 3rd party launcher to fit more rows and columns on the home screen
if you go through settings, it's at the top right but if you create an activity for ex. in launcher that leads to battery stats, then it's at the bottom. so I have both, depends on how I go there.
That's it! Good work. Solution! Who knew shortcuts would do that?
Simple.
if you access battery settings from settings menu the refresh button is on the bottom.
if you access battery settings directly (from shortcut on home or cached applications) is top right.

[Request]I would love to have a blue and white theme for [AOKP] B25 TORO

So the phone comes stock with blue and black. I would love and pay to see a theme turn that black into white. The status bar and everything. Don't care much for the navigation buttons because I don't have them and set my phone in full screen. But ye please let this be White/Blue. Oh and that includes the dialpad, contacts, messaging, well all the gapps, you get what I mean. Anyone agree with me for a white/blue theme? Will look great with the lucky people who managed to pick the white gnex

I'd love to awe a blue/2nite theme, but IMO it can't be 2nite with ICA blue. To me, that'd just look weird. White with a royal or navy blue. . .that's where it's at.

Well in those screenshots the status bar is black.. and the dialer looks a little washed out. But if you took everything black that is in the phone and changed it to white and kept the blue in ics then that would be cool. I understand that some parts will look a little washed out and for those parts just kind of clean it up. I will try to Photoshop some screen shots to give u an idea of what I had in mind today and post a little later

If you could that would be awesome. I mean look at the peoples app and mimic it in the dialler, address book and any other area of the phone where black has taken hold.
Your efforts are really nice. But I would have to say a stronger font colour is need and I believe the background is speckled instead of diagonal lines.
But yes if you could I would be truly indebted to you.

This would be amazing on Codename Android. I like the black status bar as it contrasts most of my other screens nicely. But I would love a white theme.

(Q) Anyone know of a way to make this phone (any device) run in Black and White?

Just wondering if anyone's ever seen something like that:
I'm not talking about a "Black and White" themed rom, I'm talking about something more lower-level, kind of like how you can adjust the settings on a color TV set, and make EVERYTHING black/white/grayscale...all apps, widgets, video, i.e. EVERYTHING.
(I've noticed sometimes when I'm using a black and white keyboard, and am inside an app's interface that's also black/white (like this XDA app) that it's a REALLY clean look and would love the whole interface to be that way too. (Reversible, of course...)
Any ideas?
Would be cool. Never seen it as an option though
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
There was a feature in a rom for the Xperia x10 that allowed full control over stuff like that. It was a filter system but had an option to create your own filter. Never made it black and white but I'm sure it was possible. I'll boot up my old x10 later and check it out. But it was built into the rom. Not an app

I just bought this, tried it, but refunded it.
It's cool, but essentially what it does is lays a rgb filter OVER everything, which you can adjust, but you can still see the original colors undneath, no matter what...
Thanks for the thought, though, I wish it could be that simple.

I remember something similar in CM, but I thing the choices were all colors, and didn't affect video, IIRC...But, it tells me that it probably can be done. I'm not on CM right now, but maybe I'll flash over just to make sure...

Not recording, no.
I truly want the entire OS in black and white: so, say when I pulled up the newest Avengers trailer in HD, I'd see The Hulk saving Ironman in its full, retro, grayscaled glory. (Maybe it's silly, but I think it'd look pretty cool.)

Nexus 7 Wallpaper

While waiting on hold for Google support a few weeks back, I decided to slap together a wallpaper for my Nexus 7 (and its coming replacement)... and I rather liked what I came up with, so I figured I'd share it (them) here. The size is ever so slightly off, but it's close enough that the scaling isn't noticeable.
Lossless PNG versions can be nabbed below (sorry they're not hotlinks; I'm too new to the forum):

This is driving me slowly insane.
I cant do it. The box wont get big enough to cover the entire picture so I end up with a stretched image.
This has been the only thing so far on android that seems ridiculously complex. Why cant I just choose the picture I want?

You can use mulitipicture live wallpaper or wallpaper wizardrii to set the wallpaper without cropping it. If you use mulitipicture live, you open the app by long pressing the screen, choosing live wallpaper, and then choosing multi picture live wallpaper.
You can then set a still wallpaper for each home screen or for all home screens, have it scrolling or not scrolling, have it stay put or rotate with the homescreen, etc...

Stock Theme Store Question

Hopefully this is the right place for this thread....
I feel like I am looking for something so basic and I can't believe I cant find what I am looking for. I really just want a simple black and white theme for my Note 5.
In a perfect situation I would really just like the stock icons but all of the Headers and menus and sliders have a black and white theme to them. In a realistic world I would be fine if the icon pack was changed, but I just cant find anything this simple. All of them in the theme store try to do way too much, and many of the custom ones in the XDA Theme threads are really amazing, just way more than I am looking for. Have you seen any that seem to fit what I am looking for?
We have the same problem. I have been looking for a simple black theme for awhile now.

Thanks for the response. White Tiger is a good example of trying to do too much, imo. Minu white dark has an error where notifications appear as white on white text, and they haven't fixed it yet....I hadn't seen minu white, so I'll give that one a run. Thanks!
Minu white is really close....the problem is that all of the shortcut text is black, so you need to have a light or white background....I like everything else on this theme well enough, but wish I could use a dark background...

Another one that is close, it has a greenish accent color instead of white. Otherwise it would be perfect, but as it is it is just close for me...
If you are still interested, I found one called "Fantasy_Dark_V2" that is ok. It changes the default icons, but they arent too annoying. Also, it is like $2 so there is that as well....still staying hopeful that I will find one!!
