hello all, I am a newcomer here, this is my first post on xda, I want to talk about solving the problems I experienced on the HTC Desire
information: HBOOT: Alpharev Data + +
Recovery: 4ext by madmax89
ROM: CM11KITKANG by Spezi77
I want to restore to the official 2.3 RUU Asia WWE ROM using HBOOT but obtaining gagal.sebelum DATA + +, whenever I can restore my desire to stock the bill, but after I install the DATA + +, updates are always gagal.dan bill to date brick on my HTC Desire The bill (Triangle mark '!' in the corner of the screen), please help me for this .. thanks
Are you asking why data++ doesnt work with stock? Its because the system size of the stock sense rom is over 180mb (which is what data++ allocates to system). Since there is not enough space to contain the system files you will run into problems. Data++ hboot will only work on roms that have a system size less than 180mb.
Yh i think he has to flash the stock hboot now but recommend him the mildwild rrom and cm7r2 hboot to maximise memory.

He wants to restore his phone to stock (2.3 ruu) so no point in recommending roms.
True but hes not going to get enough memory out of it

He never said anything bout memory problems and theres lots of ways to get more memory other than mildwild rom and cm7r2 hboot.
thank you. problem now is the HTC Desire can not enter fasboot mode by pressing the back button and power. The bill stuck in a triangle with '! "how to install back to stock HBOOT update desire for a law to be normal, with the condition that the HTC desire I still stuk in the bill triangle with"! "

Full wipe and I believe that gingervillain needs a bigger hboot than cm7.

I think you mean nand partitions, you only have to use the alpharev 1.8 h-boot it is the same size as stock.

I have seen a few factory s-off desires recently.
I am unsure how s-off it really is.
I would be interested to know if android flasher would allow you to fastboot flash custom recovery, such as clockwork mod.
If it does, you don't need root to flash custom rom.

I am developing a ROM (port from HTC MyTouch 4g) for HTC desire. Now i want to set up the ROM for the stock HBOOT and cm7 r2, but i have no ideas, how to do that.
Can you help me?
How big is the rom firstly?
the folder is 317.0 mb and the .zip 243.4 mb
Forget the CM7 hboot initially. Concentrate on getting it to fit in stock.

It is possible. But it will require a lot more stuff to be placed on the sd-ext partition. However, you should start by attempting to fit it into stock hboot and see if it works well before deciding to fit into another hboot.

Runnymede AIO V2.2 Xd2sdX for this you need to be s-off and using CM7/r2
Alex-V1.7 GB Sense HD ODEXED A2SD/DATA2EXT/Sense2.1+3.0+Mod/bravia Same again you need to be s-off
Droidzone has a 2.1 sense rom that work with stock Hboot.
Is there any way I can s-off except via linux?
What are the restrictions with s-on?

See my sig I used http://revolutionary.io/ 40 seconds to s-off, make sure htc sync isn't installed and you will need htc fastboot drivers http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/revolutionary
S-off gives you full root, so you can change Hboot to say cm7/r2 http://alpharev.nl/ witch give you more data, but allowing you to install data2ext and keeping dalvik cache on nand memory.
Just make sure you read into it.......you can brick your phone if you mess up.

after rebooting the phone freezes on starting animation, after 15 +/- minutes reboots and it repeats forever...
any idea? is it size problem? (all ROMs are over 130MB..?)

Which ROM are you actually use?
Did you install official 2.3 HTC Sense ROM using RUU after trying to install some ROMs? I think yes, because your Desire is S-ON. Did you change hboot to downgrade before you run RUU?

Currently using MIUI 2.3.7, so I didnt install official HTC Sense. No downgrade of Hboot - which version should I need? I can normally flash all 2.3.7 ROMs (CM7, MIUI,AOPK..)

So... I do not know why your Desire is S-ON (as I wrote in my previous post) and I think this is the reason. You should S-OFF your phone, I think... ;P

His phone has unlocked bootloader from htcdev, so he's still s-on.
Almost all of these roms require a sd-ext partition on sd-card and you didn't wrote anything about having it. Plus for that kind of stuff working properly I think that you need s-off, so jump to downgrading of hboot and running Revolutionary tool.

1) downgrade Hboot --> s-off
2) new sd-ext partition on sd-card (1Gb / 0swap)
it works
