There is a known bug in ClockworkMod 5.5.0.4 that long file names can POSSIBLY cause backups to hang. There is a solution/workaround:
boot into recovery
try to make a backup (no matter if it passes or fails proceed to next step)
either through terminal emulator or through adb run the following command EXACTLY:
Code:
touch /sdcard/clockworkmod/.hidenandroidprogress
if you are backing up to external sdcard then run the following:
Code:
touch /sdcard/external_sd/clockworkmod/.hidenandroidprogress

The exhibit ii is the us version of the galaxy w they have similar specs so I was just wondering

I am running the CWM5 non-touch version. I have my stock rom's back up on my external SD card, if I flash this recovery, will it be deleted? Please answer as soon as possible

No this will not delete anything. And you can use any recovery. They're all based off the same source. This one is a beta tho. I would just stick with your current one if you aren't going to be debugging

I did do it that way initally but it just got stuck at the HTC hboot splash and wouldn't go any further, I then tried to restore from my backup and had the same issue, I went into fastboot and flashed the kernel from my backup and the restored again and now it boots into the original rooted stock rom. I thought tomorrow I would try flashing the kernel first then the rom and see if that makes a difference.
Anyone else having issues with flashing this rom?

I am running arter97's ROM+kernel with SuperSU with system+data+cache formatted in f2fs. SuperSU is working fine for me, but only the system version.
@_MartyMan_ as i posted in another thread it's working fine. Yes 2.76 su fails to flash. I just did flash SU 2.52 beta. It flashed normally and then updated via playstore and then the binaries via the app. (Normal). BOOM you've got supersu with f2fs!!! Hit thanks if i helped you

Use superuserPro.apk com.nb.superuser.apk f2fs is 95% equal to yaffs2
SuperSu and Kinguser are not trusted, because these apps are for ext4 devices, and ext4 is not recommended for Linuxes by the RedHat Foundation.
So, ext4 destroys your device, simply because is ext4. You don't need do nothing for destroy.
See these new kind of chit motorola gseries, semseng s4567 , these new kind of bootlopers lg gseries and the Lseries, all crap, ext4 damned devices.

Spent past two days trying to figure that out. Strange given that f2fs has been around for quite sometime now.
Good news: F2FS is working with system-mode zip (even 2.78) on CM, and CM based ROMs, AOSP ROMs. (So every custom ROM)
Bad news: F2FS won't work with any OxygenOS or OxygenOS based ROMs, as (i really don't know why) f2fs (on /data) is not supported by OxygenOS ROMs... :/

MIUI V7 Beta for Galaxy S4 SHV-E300 (not I9500) by member 'gtbluesky'.

This rom has been ported by XDA member 'gtbluesky'. His profile is at -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4474974
I found it on a chinese website and am merely posting it to help guys owning the SHV-E300 since I cound not find any version of MIUI anywhere else. The rom is smooth. Before creating this thread I tried contacting gtbluesky for permission but he is not replying. Anyway if he tells me no then I'll need to delete this thread.
ROM Version:MIUI 7.5.11.22 Beta
Download link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9jAC7MbSyX6TkxPTmRqUWJFb3M/view
https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B9jAC7MbSyX6TkxPTmRqUWJFb3M&export=download
Flash like you usually do. In TWRP or any good custom recovery make a backup of current rom, do factory reset, data, dalvic and cache wipe. Install the already downloaded "miui_E300_gtbluesky_5.11.22_V7_4.4changed.zip". Reboot. First boot may take a bit long time. If it is stuck at the samsung logo then boot in recovery and do a dalvik and cache wipe and reboot. Do not use MIUI updater to update your MIUI version directly.
This rom has solved my Connection problem or invalid MMI Code and Undefined additional service. Contact customer center problem.

Gapps incl?
Looking at the size of the zip which 700 something mb, gapps seems unlikely. But how are we going to flash them then in the absence of twrp?

Just tried flashing Gapps 10 pico with FKM, failed due to insufficient storage in /system. Does anybody know how to properly create the gapps-config and only install the core packages?
Rom is quite nice, If only we can get gapps working

Tried it, the app only lets you install up to android 7. though we would still have the problem of system partition not being big enough.
We may end up having to do something like this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/guide-increase-nexus-4s-partition-space-t3800264
and this can we help? ---> https://www.digitbin.com/yalp-store-apk/

Don't even attempt to do anything with this. This is because of Androids 10 new partitioning system.
/system is permanent read only and there's nothing you can do about.
The ROM developer has to compile the ROM with gapps included, otherwise there is no way to get them.

Get the boot image and patch it with magisk manager, then flash it.
That should work.

Does your magisk installation cause your whole system to lag and.or not respond?

I like it a lot, didn't have time to do much testing but they did a great job of integrating device-specific settings like the 90hz option. fingerprint functionality is 50/50 but I'm sure that can be improved. I flashed back to AOSIP for now as my daily driver but so far this is promising.

No it worked fine for me. Make sure you use the canary magisk manager to patch the boot img, then fastboot boot magisk_patched.img, boot up and direct install in magisk manager.
Edit: don't flash your magisk patched boot image
