Galaxy Note 8 Deal - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

I was hoping to post this in the member found deals forum but couldn't get permission to create a new thread.
I've been looking into buying a Note 8 recently and just today saw the Newegg has dropped their price to almost $250 after discount and 10% off promo. That's finally looking like a great price!
However, also wondering if Samsung is about to release an updated version possibly?

That's a great deal!
A quick check - what's Samsung's warranty policy for tablets purchased from other countries ?

The policy is you're on your own. I bought coverage from Square Trade.

Well, just checked and it appears the price is back up to $329.

I think Amazon still has the 5100 for $400.

I got my 5110 refurbished on Amazon for 300 back in August. Should be lower than that now

Got a factory new 5110 in November with all the perks for 220 shipped.
Got a factory new ATT 5120 in January for 225 as well.
It depends on how hard you look and how much a seller wants to sell.

Where to buy an Unlocked GNote 2 in USA?

I'm planning on buying the GNote 2 unlocked to use on Straight Talk / Prepaid and am wondering where I should purchase it. I know Amazon usually sells unlocked phones, but I'm not sure how early they offer them.
Does Amazon sell unlocked phones right when they come out?
I would prefer to purchase the phone from Amazon or some other reputable seller. I'd hate to lose $700+ to some no name company.
Where did you USA users purchase / Preorder your GNote 2 from?
This is the first time I'm purchasing an expensive phone online.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

Like I recommend to anybody else, hamdtec is hands down the best. I live in Maryland, they are based in the UK, I bought a Galaxy s3 from them and an HTC one x. They ship overnight ( even though its says 1-4 days shipping on their site) and you can chat with them anytime they are open, or reply by email and they will email you right back. I can't recommend them enough, seriously.

16gb Verizon Galaxy nexus?

http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/...etail&selectedPhoneId=5989&deviceCategoryId=1
I was browsing verizons website and came across this. I also cannot find the 32gb model on their website anymore. Just thought I'd point this out as its quite weird they would change this so late in the product lifecycle. Perhaps this indicates that Verizon plans on carrying the new nexus.
Probably a mistake.
Yea probably a mistake. I can't see them halving the memory almost a year later.
I remember Verizons site had several mistakes before. Its amazing how anyone sells technology these days. Back in my day, displays were all technical and legendary. Now your lucky to get any good accurate information.

Especially on BestBuy's website, which basically pins all their higher end laptops having Bluetooth, maybe two actually do....

Eh, give me a minute. I will confirm it with a store manager myself.
Edit:
Just talked with him over Gtalk.
No change was announced from 32GB to 16GB.
He did say that the Razr saw some SD card size changes though.
I've noticed this too. However, on Amazon Wireless, the Verizon Galaxy Nexus is still listed as 32GB. (Links disabled due to my post count, sorry.)
Just last week it was listed as 32GB on VZW.
Looks like the below is 32GB, while it is pre-owned I've had good experiences with vzw pre-owned devices. Tough to beat the price:

I just bought my Galaxy Nexus from BestBuy about 3 days ago. I thought it was a 16GB version, like they all are. Apparently, it's 32GB... brand new. The guy looked at me as if I should have known that, since I was surprised I was getting twice the SD Space for the same price.
Not sure if I got lucky or what... but it's a brand new and 32GB.

There are 2 listings on Verizon - a 16gb with a full retail price of $499 and a CLNR 32GB for $229 no contract or free on contract. If it's a mistake, it's a pretty big one on Verizon's part.

I think I got a good deal?!?

I woke up to an email from http://lastcall.dailysteals.com/ and saw the International Note 2 for $580 plus $5 shipping. I remembered I had a $150 paypal balance, which brought the Note down to $435.
I am on AT&T so I will miss the LTE speeds, but I think thats a small price to pay when I saved over $200.
Bye bye iPhone 5

Save $200 where? The ATT note 2 is $650 outright. And I know you had PayPal balance but you could have easily had someone buy a note 2 outright from ATT and then you could have paid them through PayPal, using that balance and paying them the rest. You would have paid 70 more for lte

That's too much work for LTE. Not to mention I send 90% of my time on wifi anyway.
Any of you guys having second thoughts on your purchase with the nexus 4 news? I already pre ordered the note and never really thought about the nexus till now.
Nope... I want the larger screen and the expandable storage.
i bought s3 for 49 2yr, sold for 500, bought note 2 for 200 2 yr..my work phone will be another note 2 (free, thanks att), i'll sell my purchased note 2 for 650 and get lg nexus 4.
so ...450-200+650-350= note 2+nexus 4 and 550 cash. not bad :d

Which one do you think your are going I enjoy more. I'm not crazy into modding so the small dev support on the note 2 isn't an issue for me. I like then note because I feel it would go great with school.

i have never used a nexus phone so seeing latest updates interests me; the design of the lg, especially the back, looks nice. i like the lte, spen, and larger screen for the note 2 though.

I wouldn't consider the PayPal balance as a discount on your phone, with 3 clicks you could of had that balance transferred to your bank account for free.

[Q] Galaxy Nexus GSM Price?

Can someone tell me why anyone would pay $350 - $400 for a new Galaxy Nexus when the Nexus 4 is already out? I see these phones selling like hotcakes on Ebay and Amazon for $375 on average. I own one and I own a Nexus 4. For the same price I would much rather have the 4 even if I had to wait a while. That's not to say the Galaxy Nexus isn't a good phone, I like it just fine, it's just that at the same price point it doesn't make sense to me to not get the 4 which is an upgrade in just about every hardware aspect.
I see them used still fetching $250 - $300 which I suppose is more reasonable but I would think $200 - $250 would be more appropriate for phones that have over a year old hardware and some light scuffing, etc..
Can someone enlighten me as to why this phone is holding onto so much resale value at this point?
I feel like I must just be missing something. Thanks.
It's a Nexus and it's a Pentaband. It'll hold value.

I get that but isn't the Nexus 4 also a Pentaband Nexus? And it costs less brand new than the Galaxy Nexus does... Which is what doesn't make sense to me. Do you think it's worth more than the Nexus 4?

Part of it is due to the higher original cost of a Galaxy Nexus. Also the N4 is very underpriced from Google Play. Optimus G is msrp of $549.

Thank you. Do you recall how much the Galaxy Nexus was when it was sold as new from Google? I bought mine used about 8 months ago so I never checked out the retail price of a new one.
$600 at launch from carriers unlocked. Dropped to $300 via Google play later.
