I woke up to an email from http://lastcall.dailysteals.com/ and saw the International Note 2 for $580 plus $5 shipping. I remembered I had a $150 paypal balance, which brought the Note down to $435.
I am on AT&T so I will miss the LTE speeds, but I think thats a small price to pay when I saved over $200.
Bye bye iPhone 5

Save $200 where? The ATT note 2 is $650 outright. And I know you had PayPal balance but you could have easily had someone buy a note 2 outright from ATT and then you could have paid them through PayPal, using that balance and paying them the rest. You would have paid 70 more for lte

That's too much work for LTE. Not to mention I send 90% of my time on wifi anyway.
Any of you guys having second thoughts on your purchase with the nexus 4 news? I already pre ordered the note and never really thought about the nexus till now.
Nope... I want the larger screen and the expandable storage.
i bought s3 for 49 2yr, sold for 500, bought note 2 for 200 2 yr..my work phone will be another note 2 (free, thanks att), i'll sell my purchased note 2 for 650 and get lg nexus 4.
so ...450-200+650-350= note 2+nexus 4 and 550 cash. not bad :d

i have never used a nexus phone so seeing latest updates interests me; the design of the lg, especially the back, looks nice. i like the lte, spen, and larger screen for the note 2 though.

I wouldn't consider the PayPal balance as a discount on your phone, with 3 clicks you could of had that balance transferred to your bank account for free.

So after 6 years of being on my mother's cell plan I'm getting the boot. I have a decision to make now. In 3 weeks or so I'll be moving to Verizon and I'm having a problem making a decision on what phone to get. I'd like to get some pov from the community.
1. I could get the S3 but I don't see a big difference from my t989. It's just my opinion. I'm not to impressed with the S3. To me it just seems like an extra gig of RAM and that's it.
2. I could get a Galaxy nexus and save some money. Save some money till something more impressive than the S3 comes out.
What do you guys think? If I'm wrong I'd love to be told.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
The difference in money is not worth jumping to S3 from S2.
Nexus is good, but no memory expansion....so I'll pass on it.
I would wait for Galaxy Note 2.....Now THAT I will buy too, even
if I love my S2....
Just my 2 (billion) cents here...lol...

When talking on the phone (Note), use a small bluetooth.
And when you do something else on it, yes it will draw
a lot of attention...just remember...they are ALL JEALOUS of you!!!
So, it will be a "good" attention!
:good:
Try considering a prepaid plan w/ the use of google voice and VOIP program. I've heard it saves quite a bit of money.
And if you do end up going to Verizon, buy a Note2 and sell it. It'll probably sell pretty darn high if it's unopened.

I would wait for the Galaxy Note 2. If you don't mind being on a GSM carrier, than I might also wait for the LG Optimus Nexus. Some of the leaked specs for it include a 1.5 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 2 GB RAM, a 4.7 HD display, 8 mpix camera, etc. The best part is that the 8 GB model will retail for 299$ and the 16 GB will retail for 349$.

I have read in the other gnote 2 forum there is a lot of other gs3 users who made the switch and are far happier with the note 2. U might want to take a look over there and see what they say

I returned my GS3 in order to get this phone. With all the quad cores coming out I felt that staying with a dual core would be a bad choice for my first android device. In reality it is all a matter of preference, I plan to use the s-pen in my college classes.
im doing it!
someone will buy my GS3 for $400 or so on craigslist. So i'm buying the $650 no commitment price and i have $100 gift card at best buy. so itll be $150 to me.. no biggie

I've got the same debate going on in my head and it's compounded by my sons (both CompE grads) urging me to get the Nexus 4. I've been enamored with the Note, since the original came out. I'll get the N2 on the 9th and use it for 3-4 days. I'll know at that time, whether it's the right one for me. If not, I'll return it and get the Nexus.
didnt they leave LTE off the nexus 4? That's a dealbreaker for me

Yes. That drove me back to Note 2. Fortunately I kept my pre-order.
I like the N4 and stock Android, but I don't want to live another 2 years with HSPA+.

I sell phones. I play with both and own a note 2. It's a personal thing, but if you are a power user, which I think you are because you are on XDA then you will LOVE the Note II. Once you use it you can't go back.
* The screen is so much better and brighter than SG3.
* jellybean and 1.6GHz Quad Core processor makes everything buttery smooth
* watching youtube videos are stunning in HD
* extra large screen is great for gaming! especally on emulators.
* Using it as a E-Reader for my Kindle App Books work superbly well as the screen is the size of a small paperback book page

And no removeable battery or micro sd card slot. Now thats just crazy google. This note 2 should be a monster. It includes all of the above and then some. The at&t version does have rgb led notifications right? I havent seen any videos showing it. And I definitely want to use light flow.

I have a mint note and I was offered a brand new note 2 for my note and $200. I know this has been asked to death, but I primarily want to hear from note 2 owners who upgraded from the original note. I figure $300 is the going rate for a note in my condition, and since I'm not due for an upgrade for another year this is my best shot at getting a note 2.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
Yes do it. I went from note 1 to 2 and it really is an upgrade. Once you learn the ins ands outs its a helluva better phone. Not to mention battery life ive never had a smartphone come close to the life this thing gets. Anyway im not gonna get into all the reasons u should get it cuz you can read that all over the forums. Just get the phone then u can report back that I was right

Can someone tell me why anyone would pay $350 - $400 for a new Galaxy Nexus when the Nexus 4 is already out? I see these phones selling like hotcakes on Ebay and Amazon for $375 on average. I own one and I own a Nexus 4. For the same price I would much rather have the 4 even if I had to wait a while. That's not to say the Galaxy Nexus isn't a good phone, I like it just fine, it's just that at the same price point it doesn't make sense to me to not get the 4 which is an upgrade in just about every hardware aspect.
I see them used still fetching $250 - $300 which I suppose is more reasonable but I would think $200 - $250 would be more appropriate for phones that have over a year old hardware and some light scuffing, etc..
Can someone enlighten me as to why this phone is holding onto so much resale value at this point?
I feel like I must just be missing something. Thanks.

Part of it is due to the higher original cost of a Galaxy Nexus. Also the N4 is very underpriced from Google Play. Optimus G is msrp of $549.
