The PC can or can't read the card? Does your tablet read the card? If so go to settings and storage and try formatting it there first. Then try it in the PC.

It should have been formatted correctly from the factory as exFAT.
We need to have more information about the exact problem to help you.

i tried it first direct out of package into the tablet. I took a picture with the camera and I was greeted with "Cannot save to sd card, switching to internal memory" So i went to settings, the tablet seems to be reading the card, but not writing to it. So i formatted it in the tablet, still a no go. Put it in my pc and it works just fine. Back in the tablet, it reads, not writes. Back in the pc, formatted in pc, back to tablet, no go.

I've been having the exact same Issue! It's a brand new samsung 64 g class 10 micro sd. Formatted on my tablet. Works when I add files on my pc but in my tablet I can't write to it, only read.
And when I download new apps with the card mounted it has errors, I need to unmount the card just to install an app.........
What did you decide? I can't work out if it's a faulty note, faulty card, or if we just need to live with it?

Damn! Turns out i got a fake too! I messaged the seller and i received a whole refund. I went to radio shack today. $49.99 for a REAL (haha) Sandisk 64GB Ultra sd card. They were very nice about it too. Had to go in the back to look for it cause there werent any on the shelf. As i was pulling out of the parking lot a screaming employee was waving one in her arms haha. Made my day.
Now only if we can get google to allow play store content to save to sd like my phone does.....

So i was anybody has a 64gb microsd card from sandisk in there vibes. I currently have one but im having issues with it in all roms. My computer reads it and the phone recognize it and i try formatting it but after it formats it acts like nothing happened.
Edit: Nvm i seem to fix it, had to go back on my g2 and reformat on that phone then bring it back to my vibes.

It can support 64gb Microsd cards from Sandisk. You have to insert it in your vibes and it will appear that you have a error n your sd all you have to do is format it and you have a working 64gb card in your phone. I'll pot picture later on for proof. I'm currently putting most of my music collection in my phone so it may take a while.
pocket now says original galaxy s handles it fine, but i'm gonna wait a few months till i get sgs 3. hopefully by then it will be cheaper too

Which SD card did you buy, can you pose link, thank you.
I purchased a Sandisk 64GB micro SD card through Amazon. I got the card and put it in my phone and the phone said it was damaged. It wouldn't mount the SD card to format it. I tried to format it with my laptop, but it would not give the option for fat32.
I did a Google search and found this.
http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?fat32format.htm
You have to use Dos commands, but it formats the SD card to fat32 in about 3 seconds. Needless to say, this has to be done on a Windows computer. Mine is running Vista.
BE CAREFUL! IF YOU AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION, YOU COULD FORMAT THE WRONG DRIVE AND MESS UP YOUR COMPUTER!
(If this is in the wrong place, please move to the correct forum.)
I'm sure most of you already know how to do this. I just figured I would post it for people that don't.

If it won't format in the phone, it may be defective. I went through something similar, I ordered a 64gb class 6 card off Amazon a few months ago. It was made by "Komputerbay" & had good reviews, but would not format at all in my phone. Wouldn't even mount or anything. I sent it back & ordered a Sandisk, and it formatted in my phone right away with no problems.

It's not defective. I'm using it in my phone right now. I find it interesting that people are able to mount this card in their phone when, out of the box, it's in a format that the phone doesn't recognize. Also, without a workaround, you aren't supposed to be able to format anything over 32GB to fat32.
This is my understanding after reading up on it anyway.

I have followed the tutorial and have formatted it, but windows still reports a size of 27.4GB which would mean 32GB.
I have a class 10 64GB card, i can format it in exfat no problem, just not fat32.
Any ideas?
Just in case someone has this problem
I was trying to format my sandisk 64gb that was formatted in exfat but I was having an error message saying that the card was being used by another program but there was nothing using it. What I did was that I formatted it with windows 7 to NTFS and after it was done I used the program again and this time it works. To make sure I put my card in the phone and formatted it with the phone also. I tried to formatted it in the phone before and it was formatted but it stayed in exfat. I want it to be FAT32 because the clockworkmod recovery touch can't access the card formatted in exfat to make backup. Now I will try it with fat32 which they say it will work.
Try to get another recovery like twrp, it let's you use your external sd.

I am having the same problem with a dual sim D858 G3.
Have tried Sony, Samsung, Sandisk MicroSDXC cards of various capacities, none work.
Anyone have a solution ?
Hmmm, investigation with a torch and loupe revealed that one of the MicroSDXC reader pins were bent down.
Managed to lift it with a needle and now it works fine.
This was on a new phone, wonder if other people's problems had a similar cause ?
Format the SD Card in storage settings. It should format and be useable
Try couple things:
1. Try (may be borrow from a friend if you don't have one lying around) a different brand name card. Some generic brand cards (especially from eBay) are little flimsy and does not provide proper contacts. It happened to me on both HTC M8 and LG G3. Tried SanDisk card and all went well.
2. Try formatting the card using PC into Fat 32 format (you can always reverse this formatting to ex-fat) and see if this make any difference.
3. This one sounds very basic but under storage, sometime you have to manually click on "mount SD card".
Good luck!
Ok try this
1- but it in lapttop slot (card reader of laptop ) dont try another way .
2- use SDformatter 4 .
3- ok now put it in your device.
I hope it will work properly

Have spoken to a repair shop and what they said is that this is a typical issue with the LG G3, another one (which I also see a lot) is spontaneous reboots, even when the phone is seemingly doing nothing. And these issues get only worse over time. The only way to solve them is to replace the mainboard, which probably isn't worth it. Looked at alibaba.com, they are around 30-40 USD. I have reflashed the stock firmware in my futile attempts to get both issues solved, but it is obviously a hardware issue.
Yeah stopped working too. I've noticed an issue with a pin in the MicroSD card slot. I imagine this is the issue. I'll open it up when I have time.
Take the card out, insert it in a PC and check it for errors. DiskGenius or MiniTool Partition Wizard can help you here. DiskGenius can also check for partition table errors.
Also make sure the card is formatted exFAT, not FAT32 or NTFS and that the cluster size is either 8K or 128K.
If that doesn't work back up your files, format as exFAT with 128K cluster size, then copy the files back. You may have to do this anyway if a partition table error is detected.

My PNY 128GB has been doing that too. It would show the message and when I check on it, sure enough, it's unmounted. So I took it out and formatted it in another phone and it's slightly better. I get the unmounted message, but the card stays mounted. I'll probably try a different card tomorrow.

exFAT Default allocation should be fine, but you can just format it in the phone. If you run into issues, try FAT32. If you still run into issues, try another card.
I'm going to try a reformat today, see if it works
I've been on a clean reformatted card for about 2 hours now, so far no error. I haven't loaded back up yet though.
My pny only gave me problems when I was writing a lot or something big to the card.
I swapped mine out of 4 different phones, then into this one, so it's no wonder it errored
I have a Lexar Professional 128GB Class 10 and am now getting the same problem.
It has been fine all week but all of a sudden from yesterday morning it has started playing up.
I have tried RE seating and it works for a little while then complains.
I have also found just restarting wakes the card up for a little while so am wondering if it is software related rather than physical?
I don't know, I did a full reformat on my laptop, then formatted it on my phone and haven't had any problems since.

Well, mine didn't need to be formatted. Most likely the card just wasn't seated correctly, and removing and replacing it fixed your problem. The card tray seems a bit flimsy. Either way, whatever fixed it, glad to hear your card is working.
