Hi,
I am on CM 10.2 nightly. Everytime I try to install an different ROM on CWM 6.0.27, eg. Android Revolution 22.0, the installation procedure goes fine. During Aroma installer I choose to wipe user data partition and so on. Then after reboot my phone stucks on "samsung galaxy note gt-n7100" screen. Afterwards I have to go back into recovery and have to recover my rom so the phone will boot again. Really strange. Any suggestions why my phone is behaving this way?

Change the recovery, often Philz 5.15 works best with Aroma installer.

Unfortunately this does not do the trick Still stuck after reboot.
I can't tell you why its happening, but what I've done in the past to get around the issue is to flash a stock rom with Odin, then flash a new recovery before going to another custom rom. If you worry about the Knox warranty bit being set you'll have to find an old 4.1 image somewhere to flash. Since I'm past warranty I don't care anymore.
Good luck!
Wipe data cache dalvik format system etc nstall the new rom reboot and after go again to recovery and factory reset it.

When you change your rom you need to wipe data from recovery.

Always flash custom rom through custom recoverys only (not from stock rom). Flash TWRP or CWR or Philz recovery first and then flash custom rom.
After flashing custom rom or stock rom, first wipe data and cache (as above said) before rebooting.

get into recovery flash this file http://d-h.st/fWr u will loose evrything from internal memory, now after it reboot to recovery just flash your rom but dont reboot after installation.
first click fix permission
then wipe cache and dalvik atleast twice
then reboot!
it should load the rom fine, and i would suggest to stay with philz recovery and create a backup of efs and rom both the terminal way and through recovery too

I hope u are rooted and have a custom recovery installed if yes then its a script to clean wipe the rom to start a fresh install better known as dirty flash so when u flash the zip it will wipe ur cache, dalvik, system on recover and will automatically reboot to recovery then u can proceed wth any custom rom u want the latest philz recovery is recommended.i am using my phn yo reply and already 4am morning here so be sure what you are doing , give complete info of ur phn status as wht u hv done till now if u have all as mentioned abv then u r good to go and flash, but in ur case the flash of the file was not successful so u can manually wipe all mentined above and procced as instructed.
Its an instruction for custom rom and recovery if u have stock then just wipe cache and dalvik and try booting up.
Off to sleep
If you are unsure of what u r doing then try to get hands on odin and flash stock rom ,as messing up to much may damage ur pit partition

Thank you so much. All is well now. :highfive:
I rooted my AT&T GS3 after 4.3 OTA update with method #2 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538991
Then I made a TWRP Nandroid backup with Online Nandroid Backup app downloaded from play store. I immediately restored with that backup from TWRP because I would like to verify if the backup process working or not.
The phone did not boot up but stuck in AT&T logo screen for >20 mins. Wiping cache+dalvik didn't help. Factory reset didn't help.
I've already searched the forum. It looks like there is a similar thread there, but not exactly same as mine.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555120&highlight=nandroid
Is there any way I can get to rooted stock 4.3? If not, what are other options?
Finally I was able to come back with the following steps.
1. Download a "almost official stock rom" from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47816011&postcount=18
2. Put the rom in SD card.
3. Boot into TWRP recovery.
4. Wipe->Format Data->Yes
5. Wide->Swipe to Factory Reset
6. Wide->Advanced Wipe->Check Dalvik Cache and Cache->Swipe to Wipe
7. Install->external_sd->AT&T_I747UCEMJB.zip
8. Reboot and enjoy
UPDATE:
Actually this only works for the first boot up. As soon as I boot into OS and reboot, it won't boot in OS anymore. The device was stuck at Samsung Galaxy logo, even not went far to AT&T logo. I guess I'll try another ROM.

The link is still working for me, but I wouldn't suggest you trying that because it can boot up only once for me.
I tried all the ROMs posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540998
Most of them can boot up into the OS *only once*. As soon as you reboot the device, you'll be stuck in Samsung Galaxy S3 logo. If you wipe data, it'll go further to AT&T logo, but just not the OS home screen.
I ended up with installing SlimBean by following the instruction here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539313
I really love it because of its performance and it's highly customizable.
UPDATE: Since I followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539313 to installed the Slimbean, so my TWRP was upgraded from 2.6.3.0 to 2.6.3.1.
With TWRP 2.6.3.1, I was able to flash the "rooted stock rom" posted by loserskater here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47816011&postcount=18. The "no-reboot" problem is solved.
Hi,
I had rooted my samsung galaxy note 2 a year ago. Till then I successfully flashed many ROMs. However recently when I tried to install DN3 (Ditto Note 3) ROM, when it rebooted my phone stuck on the "Samsung Note GT-n7100" logo and could not move further. It was "soft" bricked. I installed Philz recovery through ODIN and able to restore my data. After then I tried 2-3 times to install the same ROM but every time the installation failed in between.
At last I tried to install Phoenix touchwiz ROM but my phone got hanged again in between during installation. It seems there is some problem in my internal memory card which comes in between during installation.
Do I need to format my internal memory? Please let me know the probable causes of this issue.
Just wanted to tell you that all the time I wiped cache + Wipe Cache partition + Wipe Delvik Cache before commencing installation.
your comments would be greatly appreciated!
Are you sure you have correct recovery? Phils v6 is incompatible with Aroma installers, you should use v5.15
Earlier I used "ROM Manager" to install the ROM but when it hanged then I used Philz 6.0. Should I use Ver. 5 for the same?

If you are installing ROMs from recovery and those ROMs have AROMA installer you should use Phils 5.15. Version 6.x hangs on Aroma.

Hi everyone
Sorry in case of repost.
I have a P5210 (Samsung Tab 3 Wifi). Once rooted everything was allright until I entered in recovery mode from the Rom Toolbox app.
I'm now stuck in a recovery loop mode and can't get out (CWM v6.0.4.7)
I've tried everything from factory reset / cache and dalvik cache wipe, to "fix" zips and so on. But nothing changes.
I've tried to reinstall CWM by putting a recovery image into a script and flash it through CWM. Seems to be done correctly, but when I reboot, it's still the same CWM (no update)
Eventually, i've tried to install some custom ROMs to start fresh : Every installation crashes at "WRITING SYSTEM PARTITION". I get black screen and a reboot.
And I've tried every custom Rom compatible with P5210.
Can you help me to get back to a clean configuration ?

Hi
It seems you were on kitkat rom which may have updated your bootloader to kitkat version. The CWM needs to be updated to work well with kitkat. I had similar problem with my SM-T210, and solved the problem after updating CWM as per this post for T210:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433853
Your tab is different from mine so i think you need a fresh stock rom install using odin, then find an updated CWM for your tab.
Hi. I've installed in the past the Rocket Tab ROM.
Now I've made a full wipe, to install a new rom. I have the PhilZ recovery.
I can install the rom without a problem. But when I reboot the tab, it enters in the recovery mode again, and not in the new rom. I've tried many roms but no one works. It loads the recovery again and again.
Anyone knows what the problem is? I need the tab so much to read my books

Try to reflash the recovery through the recovery, reboot recovery, wipe system and install Rom again. This should work but no guarantees.
