Just wondering if it's just me or the screen on the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is way too sensitive. When I try to scroll the page (on Google+ for example) I always end up opening something. It makes me not want to use it. It's really frustrating.
I also tried using a stylus (Wacom Bamboo Solo) and the result is the same.
So, is it only me? Is there any solution for that?
I have the same issue using Pulse. It's been good for gaming though. I might try a screen protector and see if it makes a difference.

Depends on what you're coming from.
I found the S4 to be very sensitive at first but that was from the S2 and OneX. The S3 may have been about the same as the S4 for all I know.
It would make sense if it started in Samsung devices when they added the hover function to their devices. They also made them more compatible with gloves around that time.
I doubt the Tab Pro is much more sensitive than the S4 but I don't own one yet.
You'll likely get used to it very quickly like I did.

The sensitivity on my device was extremely off.
I did little research today. I went to Best buy and tested the Tab Pro 8.4 in the showroom, it performed much better than mine, no issues, "normal" sensitivity... (looks like this issue is not affecting all the Tab Pro 8.4 tablets)
I called Samsung support to find out what's going on. I was told to do a reset on the device. I did it through the Samsung recovery - full wipe.
Now everything seem to be "normal". Looks like that solved my problem.
BTW, I'm using HTC One (replaced my old S2)

I have the exact same problem.. The screen is way too sensitive and I hate using this tablet. I wish I could return it. Thought it was just me. A very slight flick and the page zooms to the bottom. sometimes touching the screen causes I to zoom in and out to the places I don't even know where it's going.

Same issue here. Way too sensitive at the moment. I end up tapping the ads or opening unwanted links when browsing the web.

Try to do the factory reset and post your feedback after its done.
Do it in the recovery mode.
1. Power down your device.
2. Hold Volume Up and Power at the same time until you see the Samsung logo appear. Then release.
3. In the recovery mode press Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
4. Reboot and wait for few minutes untill everything loads.

Thanks! Made it a little better but still kind of annoying. When scrolling through youtube videos, a video starts playing when I didn't intend to click on that specific video.

My Tab Pro 8.4 has the same problem making it almost completely useless. When scrolling it constantly opens wherever I lift my finger. It's also constantly zooming in & out. I tried the Wipe Data/Factory Reset twice with no resolution. I didn't use it much the first couple weeks as I was waiting to get a case before using it and now it's too late to return it to Best Buy. I wanted to love, it but I find myself never using it now. I also tried adjusting the Press and Hold delay.

After I did the Factory Reset I noticed some improvement, but I'm still not satisfied with it. On top of that I started noticing the digital noise coming from the speakers (reported by other users) when I open a game and mute the sound.
And just like like you, I don't want to hate my $400 device.
I decided to send it to Samsung for repairs. I'm shipping it today.
BTW Best Buy's return/exchange policy sucks!
I went there after 25 days of purchase to ask if I can exchange it and they said:
"no, but you can bring it to the Geek Squad and they will take a look at it for a small charge" :/
We should definitely have more than 15 days to return/exchange faulty device!

I believe it's up to 30 days, the 1st time my gear was back within 4 days but 2nd time was over 3 weeks.

Opening those ad pages on websites and opening random videos on youtube is getting really annoying. Samsung needs to provide an update asap. The screen sensitivity makes this tablet useless.
just got my Tab Pro 8.4" 32GB today instead of the Tab Pro 10.1" which i returned.
was a bit nervous about the sensitivity problem. but after playing with it for about 1 hour I can say its perfectly fine..
My 8.4 is the same, way too sensitive.

I have this same issue, too sensitive.
Same problem T325
same issue with hong kong version.
I flashed unofficial cm11, it improved the problem, but it still happens. so I assume this is a hardware related? Then I tried us and china official roms, make the tablet unusable. This is too bad. I want to love this tablet, but samsung just ruined it.
I had the same issue across all 4 devices (multiple exchanges for the speaker issue).
I found that If you install a screen protector it minimizes the problem. So I would give that a go.

Anybody have this problem, it started when I flashed AOKP r31. But then I went back to completely stock but it still happens so it must be a hardware failure. The problem is I can't recreate it when I want, I just sorta happens every so often. How can I get it replaced for a new one (as it is obviously not 100% functional and I spent to much money on it to just go meh). I am guessing samsung tests returned models so if they test and they can't make it happen when they want would they still replace it? Or is the a way I could fix it or anybody else had a similar thing happen?

You could order a new back cover - I think it comes with both the switches attached. There's also a video on YouTube showing how to disassemble the Nexus.

Hey everyone,
I bought my 8.0 this afternoon (was looking at tablets and saw a lot of good things mentioned here so i took the plunge) and its not turning on. When I turned it on for the very first time, it stayed on the Samsung screen for a long time (i would say 10+ minutes). I know from my other Samsung products that it usually doesnt take that long to boot up, even for the first time, so I hit the power button to restart it and its hasnt turned on since. Has anyone heard of anything like this before? By the time everything happened Best Buy was closed so I will take it back tomorrow for them to look at but I was hoping someone may know whats the issue and I wouldnt have to return it. Thanks in advance.
Are you sure it has enough charge? Try plugging it in for a while.

If you find that there is enough of a charge If I were you I would just have it replaced especially since you're starting off on such a bad note.
Thanks guys for responding.....ya i have been letting it charge since i first made this post and its still not turning on. Ill just have BB swap it out
First one I grabbed yesterday had LCD leakage ( like someone put a lot of pressure) in the upper left corner. Swapped it out no problems. Second one looks like its good lol.

Try Samsung support chat
If you are getting desperate, you might try Samsung support. They have a chat service and the helper may be able to get it going. If you hold down the power and volume up (or is it down) buttons for 15 seconds, you might get the reboot menu. But I would connect with Samsung's 24/7 chat help and see if maybe they can help.

Yup. I was on the Flyer forum a decent amount.
Ltd leakage seems to be almost normal you're never gonna get a perfect screen. My nexus 7 had it my note 8 has it a little but it's only noticeable on black screens...which I don't encounter much. So bleh

When I boot up my SGH-I467 (Galaxy Note 8 AT&T LTE) it nearly always displays a screen that looks as though its damaged – just horizontal coloured lines or blocks of colour across the screen with no hint of any image. It only boots up correctly about 1 time in 20 or 30. Once it does boot up correctly everything works fine and there’s no hint of anything wrong with the screen itself. It’s also OK if I just turn the screen off between sessions. However, after recharging the tablet the problem recurs when I switch on. Its on firmware version 4.1.2 which appears to be the latest available for this AT&T version. Any ideas on what's happening and a fix?

I'm very disappointed that my post has had 118 views but no replies so I've added two photos of the screen showing what usually happens when I boot up. Note that about 1 time in 20 or 30 it boots up fine and operates perfectly in every respect and I've then been able to use it for hours continuously without any problem whatever.
Does any one know whether this is likely to be a screen/digitizer problem or something else?

I have never seen this and I have the same model. It sounds like whatever it is, you should be able to take it in for warranty service.
I'd say probably the screen and not the digitizer

There's a post in this forum about screen replacement and I think that he does them as well. If you can't find a solution, then it may be the best way to go. Also, try asking Samsung themselves. If you explain the situation, they might be able to help you.

I'm hesitant in attributing this to a screen problem. I normally swich off the device between sessions of use but then have the problem booting up to a good screen. However, I thought it would be easier just to leave it running and the screen has perfomed fne for the last 72 hours with me just fully dimming screen between sessions of using the tablet. Is there anything else that might cause this?
The only things that i could think to suggest would be
1) Have you tried wiping the cache?
2) Have you tried a factory reset?
I'm no expert, but if it were my device I would try both of these before sending the device in for warranty service.
Not saying either is a sure fix, but thats what I would do.

Sorry for long delay in responding to your suggestions. I'd already tried a factory resent but not wiping the cache. I did both of these after your suggestion but no change to the fault.
My nexus 7 is under a year old and I have been having problems where the screen, after a period of the device being turned on, stops registering lots of touches unless you press quite hard and there are about five 'ghost touches' every time I press it. Strangely this stops if in start charging it or restart it. I emailed Google several months ago and they told me to clear the cache partition, which I did, and that should fix it. Which it did, for a few weeks but then it happened again. I have not really been bothered by it as I could just restart it bus as it is coming towards the end if my warranty I am debating taking it back. It does not happen regularly but it is annoying when it does. It is also triggered by many of the patterns in nexus 7 II tester (http://bit.ly/1nWtxIk) and I have to restart it even if I exit the app. Looking at the reviews of the app it seems this is common but people do not have to restart their devices to stop it, they can just exit the pattern.
Has anybody else had this problem and is there a fix without factory resetting it or taking it back?
Thanks a lot

Hey - I got a like new Galaxy Tab S 32GB for $190 a few days ago. Theoretically a great device...
However, it crashes all the time. Just putting some load on it, even Google Maps search can force reboot it. Games like Iesabel or Shadowrun crash on start.
Is this normal with this thing or is there some internal damage? I rooted and to look at logs and found no issues and fresh installed the latest OS image via Odin but no change.
I am baffled a high end device would display such issues. My other tablets (cheapo Lenovo etc are all fine with these apps). Any tips?
I have a day or two to return this thing. Would love to keep it but realistically it's just too frustrating.
Thanks.
(bollocks, just saw there is a Help and Troubleshooting forum, but don't know how to move this thread. sorry...)

I'd take it back , sounds like a hardware issue.
Had mine for over a year and can honestly say its never rebooted once.
Agreed with the post above me. It used to be Samsung flagship. Mine did reboot once in a blue moon but very rare.

Yeah, thanks guys. That's what I'd expect from a Samsung flagship. I'll return it. Cheers.
Yeah, loose battery connection is a big problem on the 8.4" and the odd 10.5" , bending the tablet can cause this problem, that is why the 8.4" is more affected, you have to be a giant to fit the 10.5" in your pants pocket.
