It is actually a very easy project that came up to my mind when i saw my old transcluent (was in a bad shape, totally covered with deep scratches)
Any hardcase should work
Things you will need:
A spare case lying around
Carbon Fiber Vinly/Sticker
A heat gun (In my case hair dryer)
Utility Knife/Razor
A needle
10 minutes of your life
Cut apprx. 25x15 cm of carbon fiber (CF) (depends on your case, use as much as you like)
Apply it, bend excess CF to inside of your case
apply heat with hair dryer (DONT USE TOO MUCH HEAT) while applying it to the corners for smooter finish
cut camera and flash holes from back of your case with a razor
stick a pencil from front of your case to the mic. hole
cut excesive CF that you bent over from back of your case if it does not fit.
stick needle to bubbles at 90 degrees if there are any, be sure to not to go too deep, just a small hole should be enough otherwise you will leave dents
Any decal should work, they are available in many colors i got 2m^2 of carbon fiber for 10$ on gittigidiyor.com (Ebay Turkey)
It should look something like this;
Great thread!
I've always been looking for a nice carbon-look case.
But where did you get the carbon sticker/venyl thing?
Search on eBay for “3M dinoc“. Great quality and easy to use. In this small size it should also be really cheap.
Looks quite nice, but I'd prefer my real carbon fiber case . Feels much better

My dad made me a carbon fibre to with some 3M that he used for his car originally. Awesome indeed. Thinking of removing it from the case though and putting it directly on the phone (search on ebay to picture sof how it would look like) since I like using the phone without a case plus it would protect it from scratches.

I was just going to post this haha. Great idea though, I love the feel of carbon fiber cases
You can also get from Carbon Fiber from Car modify Shops(could not translate to english sorry ) even my local Ford Seller had those but they are more expensive (You should get 3M branded ones if you are going to apply it directly to your phone so they wont leave sticky areas after removal)
Approx 2 weeks passed since i made that feels great and not a single dent, it is very durable
Why not just get the incipio dualpro cf case? It's amazing for the money, and I've bought it twice since I lost my first M7.

They have a white one as well, but the Black M7 with the Black CF Case are pretty much made for each other. I've dropped my phone countless times (because of my job) and it still looks great.

do you know many bumpers for ours SGS3?
Thank you

You can also find a few on ebay.
Thank you very much
Draco also makes a few aluminum ones. I have the silver one. A bit pricey but pretty high quality. And there was a 30% off code floating around here

Makes the phone just a tiny bit bulkier, but its a small price to pay for the protection in case i drop it.

I like these one ...
I have a few different plastic/rubber hybrid ones from ebay for like $5-$10 each. I really like the one I currently have that has a black top half and white bottom half, but these things like to come apart if you take them off a lot. I keep re-glueing mine back together.
I have these on my Nexus 4 and they rock feel and look awesome. Just order them for my HTC one. will report back. Usually about 1 or 2 weeks shipping.

is the power button cut out so we can use the IR blaster?
Look for pictures - in short yes the IR is fine.
It does not cover the whole phone. Back and sides. Top has a small notch for headphones trimmed out and bottom is open.
Most of these type of cases will always be that way. I think the POETIC case apparently had this issue.
How do you design a case and knowing all the specs and you forget about the IR ?

aaaand... back on topic.
Nice case! I'm still hunting down the perfect case; meanwhile I've just ordered a cheap transparent case for about £3.
I'm tempted by the Nilkin, but the fact that it doesn't protect the top and bottom is a bit off-putting.
Something like the double-dip hard case would be great for me, but I'm just not keen on the colours they used.
I rather like the look of the Urban Armor Gear cases though. I just wish they had it in this colour.

It is, very silky smooth on the sides.
Definitely less slippery than the phone would be on its own.

I've yet to get my HTC One but my Nillkin case has arrived and yes, it is true that the case is slippery. It feels like powder on paper less the powder of course. It's that kind of slippery.

The sides of the Nillkin are the smooth rubbery coating like you would find on the back of some of HTC's older phones (ie S710). The back is textured with a pattern, so it isn't the same feeling as the sides. I would say it's definitely less slippery than the phone naked.

Was wandering if anyone tried this. It actually looks decent on the YouTube videos I have watched. 10 with case, screen protector, and nfc tag.
Made the mistake of buying a double dip case today. Didn't do anything but I decided it wasn't worth the risk so I took it off and boxed it back up. The sales guy asked to se my phone when I was looking at it and he decided to quickly slide the phone in from the top and pop the ends on himself. I was scared to take it off. I liked the fit of the case I just didn't like the colors and was nervous about the future damage it might do.

Got mine about a week and a half ago. Got the soft suede like grey one and I love it. Looks beautiful, feels incredibly well made, sleek as can be and gets out of the way when I don't need it Based on this case and the other Nillkin cases I've had I am seriously becoming a Nillkin fanboy
I bought the black one and I am generally happy with the case. My only gripe is that the material on the inside of the flip is microfiber and boy does it get nasty... Especially around the edges.

Yes I have to agree. I have the black Nillkin flip case and in the beginning I was like this case is sweet but after that first week it's just ehhh... The inside of my case (the inside flap) is dirty and just an eyesore but the good thing is, I'm gonna cut the flap so it's not as wide and just tape it up with electrical tape for the frayed edges. I'm trying to cut it so it can fit into the cd slot in my car so I can use it as a DIY car dock sort of. One thing I have to say it does snap on well to the One. The case kinda distracts from the beauty any way. I ended up buying a phone sleeve with a card holder so I can minimize the **** in my pockets and so I wouldn't have to use a case but it's still protected while in my pocket.

Hellow everyone,
I am really searching to find something good to protect my Htc One but in the same time to not make it double or triple of it;s original size.
I was seeing the Incipio Products Like Feather, Frequency And Carbon Fiber , also the Htc One Original Cases .Plus would be nice to buy these alluminiun cases??? What you would suggest me to buy. By the way along with the case i am planning to buy a screen protector like the Mime Ghost Glass for Htc one.
Your Opinions would be very helpfull.
I bought this case: http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-FlipBo...qid=1377379829&sr=8-3&keywords=htc+one+poetic
It's slim and looks good. Doesn't provide a crazy amount of protection but it's enough for me to not worry about it in my pocket or setting it down anywhere, and I like the flipbook style. You can also still use a screen protector with it.

funny, on this link, with the phone in the case, it looks like there are cut-outs for the camera (and the noise cancellation mic), but there is on picture of the entire case without the phone in it, and there appears to be no cutouts for the camera. I would imagine that there ARE cutouts for the camera, no?

Yes, there are two cutouts on the back: one for the camera/flash and another for the mic. You're right though, the pics are misleading. I had seen this case in the wild before I bought it so I knew what I was getting. Also for that price you can't really go wrong.

Just tried a skin and bumper combo. Best compromise between protection and looks IMO. Nothing will top an otterbox for protection, but makes phone very bulky and it overheats too easily when using navigation.

this one I got a few weeks back, and it is the best case I could imagine for the One! Protection all around, wrapping over the edgres where the screen is. All buttons covered solid, and these covers help to push the Power/Vol buttoms. I can only say, I am totally happy with this case! A bit pricey, but worth every penny. Gives the One a real trendy look, and is available in different colours- I got the black/black one

Only issue is note doesnt sit great on my charging stand but it still makes enough contact to charge.

I would have t I agree with gatesjr and patt2k, the tech21 case is one of the best cases i have had. Its slim, relativly sticky when placed on glass or other similarly hard surfaces, and has minimal screen blockage around the edges making it relativly easy to say drag a icon from one screen to another. It was a little pricey compared to some of the 2 part silicone/plastic cases for 9 or 12 dollars on amazon (which i like them to have had good luck with them) but overall this case is my favorite. All holes line up and just feels plain good in the hand. Plus when i take my phone out of it to clean it up, it still looks like it came from the factory ?
