Hello, does it matter which Slimport adapter I buy? Can I just go for the cheapest?
I bought 2 different ones on amazon. Both work just fine. I like this one a bit better. Better quality and it just looks better.

The adapter shouldn't matter, just make sure you have a cable and TV that support HDMI 1.4a. While HDMI 1.4a is a bit old now, if you haven't upgraded your TV and cables recently you may find yourself in an incompatible situation, regardless of the slimport adapter.
Buy the Analogix SlimPort SP1003 on Amazon for $29.00. Don't waste your time with those cheap ass Chinese made "SlimPorts". This is the official. I bought 2 cheap ones on Amazon and they didn't work at all. Trust me.

Has anyont tried out HDMI/ USB adapter on this yet? Is it full mirroring?
Using an MHL adapter does give you mirror display output. There is not enough power from the phone to power the MHL adapter, so you must use a power adapter.
I used an HTC MHL adapter. Check with Monoprice, they just started carrying generic MHL's.
Did u guys gets an adapter with your phone? Wirefly said I wasn't supposed to get one.
Uhhhhh... Last time I looked, Samsung wasn't buying HTC branded accessories and including them with their products! LOL!!
No MHL included.

Nope. They are cheaping out on us. Just the phone and charger.
The European version at least got some decent looking headphones, and I have seen one set actually have a basic leather case. The case might have been a reviewers special or something.
Best place I would recommend getting an MHL would be Monoprice. You can get them cheaper at Amazon or Ebay, but you get what you pay for from those places.

That would be an MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link)
Usb to HDMI with another USB port for power. I have an HTC version. Works great, must use power to usb port next to HDMI output. Some devices have enough power to drive the adapter. Unfortuntely, the E4GT does not.
What, not even headphones.

However wondering if there is any way to make the video quality playback better?
should one adjsut the screen density or any other settings?I have you tube and netflix playing well but not in that high of quality IMO
what cable should i be looking to buy for the MHL to HDMI converter. As in is there a specific brand that is going to be better quality then another? Being that the one offered through verizon is Ibolt and not a OEM product.

I purchased the Samsung HDMI/MHL adapter and it works, I don't know if the quality is any better then other brands (no ground for comparison).
I've been using the one from Monoprice. I haven't had any problems with it.
I've read several discussions about MHL cable, some suggested to buy only OEM stuff, some say even non-OEM stuff works good.
Now that some time has passed, what's the suggested MHL cable to buy?
Go to monoprice dot com and get the one they have. Mine works great and it's like $8.
I ordered the Monoprice one as well. Does yours require a micro USB connection to a power source in order for it to display?

Its works fine
Don't know if monoprice ships to EU
EDIT: Yep it does but it's 30$ of shipping :/
I've heard a few reports of people finding their cables only seem to output 720 instead of 1080. Not sure if it's cheapo cable related, or what, but possibly something to look into before ordering.
I'm really looking forward to grabbing one of these cables and a bluetooth mouse & Keyboard.

Of course it would output 720p. It only outputs 1080p when you play a 1080p video. Either it works or it doesn't. I'm sure all of the mhl adapters will output 1080p when the phone should.

I have a genuine one, it's fine, but as you know you need a charger and HDMI cable. Wife's SE Neo has micro hdmi connector and she only need a cable (supplied) and that is definitely more practical.
Wondering if exist some MHL that works without power adapter ?!?!
I'm wondering which MHL adapter to get

http://www.amazon.com/Menotek-Adapt..._1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359051896&sr=8-1&keywords=MHL
Also, has anyone tested Miracast on this device yet?
Get the cheapest one, there probably isn't any difference between the 2.
Mhl is a Samsung thing ain't it? I would think you would use a slimport like the nexus 4.....
This is the one I bought: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/180895011500...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_4583wt_1341 (Just search HDMI MHL adapter on eBay). Got it for $4.50 and it works well.

MHL is a standard protocol. Some HDTV and Receivers from Onkyo and Denon are suppporting it it their latest gen products.
Some adaptators support 720p and some can do 1080p.
just a reminder mhl is not supported on any custom rom
Not even on CM10.1?
Has there been any progress made regarding MHL support for custom roms(CM,pacman etc) ?
I understand the Nexus 7 (2013) has the slimport myDP standard or whatever it is. There is a $30 adapter on Amazon with tons of good reviews, but do you think this adapter on eBay would work?

Just wanted an opinion or two before I drop $15 on it. Thanks!
