Ya, but when the phone restart and then installing the new firmware it fail or unsuccessful only can 27%. Then the phone reboot, and after rebooting it says fail and try to install by kies.

if you dont understand best to search google for how to flash firmware via odin
in order to change firmwares on a samsung phone you use a tool called odin to flash the firmware onto your phone - that is the only way to change your firmware in this samsung phone if software update/kies update does not work

hey if you root and delete or modify something in the stock rom
firmware update will surely fail

Hi, with the help of this forum I was able to root my gio so that went fine now comes the question. II hooked the phone up to the pc and samsung kies said there is a firmware update so I clicked it and I got a disclaimer that when you're phone is rooted that upgrade to latest and greatest firmware this might fail because of the root.
What should I do now, do I have to unroot it before I put the new firmware on, or can I just proceed with firmware upgrade with the phone being rooted.
Thanks in advance.
Jan
Samsung kies wont notice you with that message.

Sorry for the late response (I was on holliday), with my stupid head I wasn't paying attentionin samsung kies and let kies update the phone. All went well unitl my laptop decided to update some drivers from the phone,my phone just started with flashing. So I got an error lucky me phone was still working, I ased a colleague of mine who I knew had experience with odin. After downloading the correct firmware he used odin to flash my and it works perfectly now
Thanks for the help over here.
So I was reading around the web - particularly on Droid-Life that the Verizon Note II now has been updated to fix the Exynos-related bug. Now, I'm on the international LTE model - GT-N7105 - and sooner or later I will receive the update as well. Now, as stated in the article linked earlier , a rooted user tried downloading the update and failed. So there's the backstory.
Now, as for my question. I will obviously have to unroot (which I am looking to do anyways) but here's the thing. I rooted using the ExynosAbuse apk from Chainfire. That makes the status in Settings -> About device set to "Custom", thereby preventing me from receiving OTA updates. ExynosAbuse has an unroot button. When pressed, it tells you to reboot to complete the process and then to reboot around 10 minutes later since it might reset the status to "Normal". Well, it doesn't do that for me.
So I used another tool by Chainfire; TriangleAway to set my ODIN flash counter back to 0 (in case it was causing anything; didn't check.)
Now, I used TriangleAway get around the "Modified" thing. Experimented with the 'Allow tracker to run' feature and ended up getting my flash counter to be 0 and my system status to say normal.
When the update arrives, I will probably have to unroot. However, as previously stated, my system status will go Modified when I do. So here's the question (and TL;DR):
TL;DR: I am having TriangleAway set to allow the tracker to run in order to have my system status "Normal" and I want to unroot in order to receive the update that has started rolling out. However, disabling the tracker and unrooting will set my device status to "Custom". That will prevent me from receiving the update. What do I do?
Additional info: I have not flashed ANYTHING custom - I only rooted for a few Xposed tweaks.
Thanks for your time.

1. Download the correct firmware update from sammobile.com
2. Update your firmware thru Odin
And you will have a fresh firmware with Status Normal.

Okay, so to clear this up:
- Will flashing the latest firmware in Odin (or Heimdall, which I'll be using; OSX...) wipe my phone? Will it though the flash counter?
- Can it be done through Mobile Odin without keeping root? Will using Mobile Odin to update my firmware wipe my phone?
Thanks for your patience with me, guys.
You wanna send phone for warranty ?
If no then forget about counter and flash latest stock firmware.
And flashing stock rom via odin won't delete anything.

Awesome, one last thing, if I used ExynosAbuse to root (the exploit which this update patches), and I use Mobile Odin's "EverRoot" feature, do you think it will still work? Thanks
Yeah but mobile odin can't flash tar images. You gotta flash via pc odin.
Then can root via cf auto root.

Not done downloading the latest stock image from sammobile but it downloads as a zip. Is this a flashable zip or is it a zip containing the tar file? If it is flashable, I can just use mobile odin, right?
[edit] it was mentioned that Mobile Odin does not support .tar.md5 files. It says that it does in the description?
It contains *.tar.md5
It isn't flushable via mobile Odin.
Only pc Odin.
Make sure your version is dll7 or ubdll3

Have just rooted using cf auto root and want to update my firmware which is currently on stock 4.1.1. I am in the UK but my phone is a grey import with csc code (AFR), which according to Sammobile is Kenya. Can I just update the firmware using any of the English 4.1.2 files using mobile odin without messing up my phone?
I haven't got Cwm installed as I only want to use official firmwares.
Thankyou..

Yes you can update any country ROM for same device.
Just to add if you want to use mobile odin, then keep in mind Mobile odin won't flash bootloader and i recommend to flash bootloader later with PC odin, still your root will remain intact.
PS : actually bootloader need not to flash everytime and only this time there is a fix for exynose bug so you need to do it.
you can find new bootloader on my same rooting thread post #4
How do we find out which version bootloader is on note 2?

Thankyou. I will have a look. Should I flash the bootloader first to fix the exynos bug, then the firmware, or do them both at the same time using pc odin?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
you need to flash bootloader separately only if you use mobile odin to update ROM.
In case you are using PC odin to flash latest stock ROM, that will include bootloader and need not to flash it separately.
This is b'coz as i said mobile odin can't flash bootloader.(safety feature)

I said to utkarsh that exynose is fixed with bootloader.
So
If you use mobile odin to flash latest ROM, SDS will fixed but not exynose yet
While flashing with Pc odin, it will fix SDS as well exynose

No need to do it
If tar file having it(4.1.2 of 2013 released have it), then it will get flashed from PDA.
I got an ota update of 4.3 and I downloaded the 700 firmware! But when installing it, when went to DL mode and on 35% approx., some error occurred and phone booted up back with 4.1.2! and now checking OTA updates says that the phone is running on latest update!

The only issue with odin update is that it cleans the internal memory! And I don't want that, I have alot of data in that.
Yes, I can copy that and paste later but then it ****s up whatsapp files and images and sometimes the android folder :/
Ps, phone is not rooted! Any way to get the update without wiping the internal?

Yeah I know, when 4.1.2 update came for my other phone, Samsung Galaxy S Advance, I used Odin only to update instead of Kies!
I've tried flashing with Odin the MJ5 bootloader. Also, I've tried flashing the wifi fix supplied from Dr.Ketan, again with no success. In one of those attempts flashing failed, as indicated by Odin. Now all I get is this warning: "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies & try again."
Can't do anything else, no recovery and no download mode. Help?! :/
