What's the point of the pinch zoom in on the home screen? Zoom out edits the homescreens, but zoom in just takes me to a blank set of homescreens with no dock (just the page indicator) and no option to do anything. Settings and long press do nothing. What is this for?
I think there is nothing special about it. You can show others your wallpaper without any icons for example..

i have a weird problem with gsensor and photo album. whenever i turn on screen auto-rotation, my photo album will always be in landscape orientation no matter how i orientate the screen. and when i exit, touchflo 3d is in landscape mode also for a split second before it changes back. This happens even though I removed photo album from the whitelist.
anyone encountered before?
I think album automatically does that to show pics in their best way (or somethng like that)
Is yours the same? I know that the rhodium photo album will not rotate the photo, but it is supposed to orientate the icon bar that appears when you tap the screen. On my album, that bar is always in the landscape orientation even if I hold the phone in portrait mode. Similarly I can only swipe the pictures bottom to up to scroll, instead of right to left. The album will orientate correct in portrait mode though if I turn off screen auto-rotate.
I had the rhodium port running on my TP before and this is not the same behaviour. Is yours also like that?
mine always stays in landscape but some photos display in portrait. it doesn't bother me though. & yes, the menu/icons are always in landscape
Mine is like what you described. But I am happy with the way it is. The photo always displays at the full screen without the black border.
I am attempting to accomplish a theme much like what the Dell Streak guys are doing here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=899879).
While our screens are not 5", like the Streaks, we can get roughly the same viewing size with the "LCD Density Changer" app. The app just shrinks everything, so it isn't to bad with a younger set of eyes.
If this theme was set up on our phones, then the wallpaper and Icon placement would be distorted as it were cycled through orientations.
So my question/request for an app is something to lock your home screen orientation into landscape. ADW launcher is capable of this!! However, I purchased Launcher Pro Plus, and I prefer this launcher.
All the apps out currently only lock portrait (by turning off auto-rotation). And the only Google searches I can find are a few pointing to an app that fools the phone into thinking the slide out keyboard is open. That app only works on a device that has a physical pull out keyboard.
Thanks in advance
Nm. Misread.
When I go to change my wallpaper for the main screen or lock screen, its off. Like its supposed to go wide for scrolling but it just gives me a square to select with which makes the image distorted once saved. Is there a fix? Ive searched but havnt found anything. Help please. Include links if needed.
Thanks
I had the same issue yesterday and found several answers via google...
For the lock screen the best fix seems to be using a photo editor to resize the photo to 980x800 (or I think some multiple thereof), then upload it to your phone and select as wallpaper.
Wallpaper Wizardrii and Wall Switch both work for me for the main screen wallpaper. Both free and available from android market.
I've seen a ton of threads after googling about the opposite of my question, people asking why they can't set the background image to scroll when they slide through home screens, but I can't find any answering my question.
My background doesn't scroll, and I don't want it to. When I have an image I want to select to use as my wallpaper, I want the selection box shape to be in PORTRAIT, but it keeps the aspect ratio to landscape, even when I have the background image set to single page, no scroll.
The wallpaper selection screen looks like this:

I just want to be able to select that WHOLE image, in portrait, the way it looks there and set it as my wallpaper, but it only lets me make a landscape shaped selection, which makes the wallpaper end up looking like this:

I've been trying to figure this out forever, and no luck. Please help!

I'm pretty hardcore on knowing tips and tricks of our phones, however I never knew about this.
You can pinch and zoom, and position the wallpaper to fit your needs. It wouldn't hurt to put text on the screen as a hint.

Ok, thanks ?
