i have a weird problem with gsensor and photo album. whenever i turn on screen auto-rotation, my photo album will always be in landscape orientation no matter how i orientate the screen. and when i exit, touchflo 3d is in landscape mode also for a split second before it changes back. This happens even though I removed photo album from the whitelist.
anyone encountered before?
I think album automatically does that to show pics in their best way (or somethng like that)
Is yours the same? I know that the rhodium photo album will not rotate the photo, but it is supposed to orientate the icon bar that appears when you tap the screen. On my album, that bar is always in the landscape orientation even if I hold the phone in portrait mode. Similarly I can only swipe the pictures bottom to up to scroll, instead of right to left. The album will orientate correct in portrait mode though if I turn off screen auto-rotate.
I had the rhodium port running on my TP before and this is not the same behaviour. Is yours also like that?
mine always stays in landscape but some photos display in portrait. it doesn't bother me though. & yes, the menu/icons are always in landscape
Mine is like what you described. But I am happy with the way it is. The photo always displays at the full screen without the black border.

Didn't really know where to post it so I'll just place it here, please move this topic if necessary.
After flashin my device with some of the latest ROM releases I've noticed a problem with camera. By default in those releases the option of rotating picture 90 deg after taking a photo is turned off, so if I hold my device horizontally while shooting a photo, the picture is rotated. (yarr, this description pwnz)
That issue does not depend on any particular release nor sys version (both 6.1 and 6.5).
I believe this started with latest builds, didn't experience that with previous ROMs.
Try this
Gen.Y SensorSDK 3.3.18192831.1
The HTC Camera has a slight rotation issue with the new SensorSDKv4: the camera will only remember the rotation info at startup, so if u fire up camera in landscape (portait) mode, all your pictures will be taken in landscape (portrait) mode (even if u change the rotation when taking pictures). The only way to resolve this issue is to install the old SensorSDK. But the old SensorSDK has some disavantages:
* No native HTC rotation in Calculator (and any added apps in G-Config), requires 3rd party software for rotation (like ChangeScreen)
* While zooming in on a picture in AlbumV3 in landscape mode, the picture will turn to portait and some sort of overlapping occurs. The zoomed image however display fine, it only happens while you're zooming.
This is super annoying, I tend to shoot video/pictures vertically, because I like to just use one hand. It seems that when I play my gallery back through the phone, the picture looks right, but when I upload it to facebook and etc, the video or picture is rotated sideways.
I hate having to go into PS to re-rotate it back, is there a fix or a setting for this?
facebook should auto rotate pictures to the way they were taken. Either there is a problem with your facebook app, or there is a problem with your phone's gyroscope, and it's not recording the correct orientation in the exif data of the picture
Thanks for the reply. Hmm, it seems that it has always been this way. But I do notice that facebook does have a rotate option upon loading a pic/vid.
Is there any way to change this? It defaults to landscape, and portrait Apps display "sideways" instead of showing up in portrait on the screen like other devices....
anyone? its pretty annoying to have portrait apps appear sideways on a TV...
Hi all:
By fluke of chance, there was only once that managed to somehow get my photos in gallery to arrange itself in a horizontal straight line, like a filmstrip. (I enter the photo gallery by going into camera, and then tapping on the photos to view my past taken photos.)
Does anyone know what I am talking about, and what is the finger gesture or method to get the app to display my camera photos in a filmstrip mode? thanks!!
When you're in the gallery and have the picture in landscape, swipe left or right several times quickly to scroll the pictures along like a "film strip". The picture that it stops on will automatically fill the screen. Oh, and you do not need to access the gallery via the camera, this will also work by entering the gallery directly.
ah, it works! thanks so much! I found that quickly swiping about 3 times will do the trick. and it also works in portrait mode too!
On my Note II some of my videos are coming out 1080x1920 ie portrait instead of the correct landscape.
sometimes I video things with the screen facing UP in the sky (IE trying to CRUSH a rat I caught and the video comes out portrait.
how do I instruct the camera to ignore the orientation of the phone and ALWAYS encode as landscape. is there a way to can edit its meta data to display the correct orientation ?
rotating in youtube is lame
Turn off screen rotation before recording
screen rotation IS OFF (I keep it off by default hate it) the camera ignores it.
