OTA to 4.3, can i install JediX20? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi all,
I just got a Note 2 T889 with OTA updated to 4.3. I rooted and installed JediMasterX2. Running well for past 3 days. Can I flash JediX20 if I wanted to or not possible on boot loader T889UVUCMK7?
Since I don't have warranty not issue with Knox.
Reason is that I remember getting exceptional battery life on 4.1.2 on my previous Note 2.
Thanks in advance.

Update, after suggestions from experienced xda members. I flashed jediX20 on 4.3 dootloader. So turns out as the zip file does not have the bootloader to install so installed as usuall. JediX20 does require to install twice as this is an issue with 4.1.2 install not the 4.3 bootloader.

[Q] 4.3 on a rooted Note II

When you rooted, you got a custom recovery, and that stops the OTA update.

For a 4.3 ROM, you need to install 4.3 bootloaders. Are there any drawbacks?

I'm considering upgrading to a 4.3 rom from 4.1.2 and I've learned that a stock image of 4.3 must be flashed first (thorugh Odin?) to update the bootloader to 4.3.
Is there any drawback to upgrading? Will I still be able to flash 4.1.2 roms using the 4.3 bootloader? Will I be able to downgrade to the 4.1.2 bootloader (should the need arise)?
Side question: is Odin the only way to update the bootloader? Can it be flashed through TWRP?

You'll have Knox. (Stock) which locks u down cause u can't downgrade and by rooting, you're going for a un-reset-able Knox Warranty Void trigger. Downgrading bootloader is impossible as of now, but flashing ROMs should be possible. (Should, not damn sure)
Side Answer: don't think so. Just flash stock 4.3 through TWRP and u should be good to go.
Smack that thanks button If I helped!

I'm running 4.3 JediMasterX2 with old bootloader and devil kernel and everything seems to be running fine. There was a very informative post made recently they gave a clean and simple explication of pros and cons to bootloader update. I'll try to locate and post a link but long story short, it's in your best interest not to update bootloader if you don't have to.

Please don't do the official update and get yourself locked down like many of us have. I have flashed many 4.3 roms and they worked fine. Got a new phone and did the official update and now I cannot send this device in for warranty because of the KNOX flash counter.

Sorry idk what happen but it's fixed. Cipher also posted link a few post up.

which is the best way to get to 4.3 from stock 4.1.2 without tripping knox?

my head is about to explode going through all these 4.1.2 to 4.3 upgrade posts. i got my hands on another note 2 (my other note 2 is tripped), so i have the opportunity to start fresh again.
Which flashing method via pc odin will get me from stock 4.1.2 to 4.3 without tripping knox 0x1 and without having to flash other kernels to make things work?
ALL I WANT is to get to 4.3 with root to debloat / working wifi , and the ability to update or revert back to stock in the future WITHOUT tripping knox counter 0x1.
Is there such a thing? To be honest Mr. Robinsons thread is the only one i've gone through all the post's, but even then i see conflicting posts about knox being tripped from those with bootloop and freeze problems during mr robinson flashes.
please help a confused brother.
Dont update to 4.3 is what I did.
Im running Ditto Note 3 Rom.. Its an N7105 Rom with Note3 Features.
Flashed Devil Kernel 2.3.2 to get wifi working.
Then flashed the T889 MK7 Modem to get the new radio.
Runs solid. Just keep an eye on your Ram usage.
This is WITHOUT upgrading Officially to 4.3.
thanks, You are still on 4.1.2 bootloader? dn3 has no issues with t889? and how do you compare the ram usage to stock 4.1.2?

More specifically, don't update your bootloader. Your current 4.1.2 bootloader will work perfectly well for 4.3 roms but you won't inherit knox and, as mentioned above, you'll either need to flash wifi patch or the devil kernel to get wifi to work.
What I did, with no problems:
1. Take note of all apps
2. Make backup of efs and data on internal/external storage
3. Cleaned up storage in the device.
3. Format sd card
4. Clean flash of 4.3 rom
5. Flash modem
6. Flash devil kernel
7. Boot into rom and download apps from play store (No tb restore).
thanks, are you on dn3 as well?

No but the process for all 4.3 roms should be the same if coming from 4.1.2. One thing I forgot to mention is to update the modem. Some have reported a more seamless transition using new modem.

I just changed kernels to AGNi Kernel. Gonna test it till tomorrow. So far so good tho.
issue
i already updated to 4.3 and went back to stock to 4.1.2 via odin and since then i have had a ""touchwiz not responding"" pop up on every boot up and at times 4g data works but doesnt really, it freezes in a way that all my text and email just pause until i reboot phone... now i cleaned it and all but it still does that... so i have a replacement coming in from tmobile today and hopefully all goes well huh... i told them i have had issues since i got the phone 3 weeks ago so,...should i go ahead and accept this trade of phones or reject it...

the main thing you have to worry about is cleaning up root and triangle away your binary if you have counts. I don't think t-mobile are warranty nazi's YET when it comes to knox trips. i know it will eventually change though.
flash back to 4.3.. you can get the stock rom at sammobile. it will look funny to tmobile if you are at 4.1.2 with a 4.3 bootloader.

As long as you don't update via OTA, Odin or Kies then you should be ok. Just root, install a recovery and flash a rom, modem and kernel......and maybe Superuser (depending on the Rom)

[Q] Updating my rooted Note 2 Question

I heard there will be a 4.4.2 update for note 2 on T-mobile. I'm so new at rooting but I was able to root my phone. Now, how can I update my rooted note 2 from 4.3 to the latest one without bricking/breaking it? I don't have any custom rom, I am still on stock rom and I used chainfire auto root. Is there any way to update my rooted note 2? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
It'll be awhile before it's released, probably a month or two. There will be plenty of time to figure it out.

you need to install a custom recovery such as TWRP 1st of all. This will allow you to install a custom Rom. You can find the link & all information related to the t889 note 2 under android development.

[Q] Help Softbricked my phone.

I got my Note 2 about 6 days ago and was on firmware 4.3 I noticed that the battery was draining very fast so I looked around online and found
4.3 had this problem so I updated the firmware to 4.2.2.After a day or so I got fed up with touchwiz and said screw it im going to root my
phone.so I started getting the note 2 ready to root this went fine I was able to boot up my phone with twrp. So then I made a backup through twrp
just in case I screwed up my phone. I then Flashed CM11 to the phone but it failed so I tried wiping the caches and it failed again. I then try
Booting it up but it is stuck on the Samsung logo. So I turn it off and said no big deal I got the backup I can flash so I try to flash that but it fails to
but after this I notice my Knox security is void.so im wondering is the Knox security causing the problem. Because after I did this I did some
Research and It said that It would void my warranty and it had an efuse? What exactly does this Knox voided warranty mean does it mean my
Is useless can or can I still flash roms to it ? And If so how would I go about doing this because im all out off ideas.
Flash this using Odin to get the phone back. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53353625
Then use philz 6.07.09 and not twrp. That's where the problem started.
Thanks

It's really personal preference so you have to flash everything that's out there to see which one you like. I'm a flash a holic so I tend to flash anything new and will change between touchwiz and non-tw ROMs based on my mood that day. Enjoy!
bootloader?
Just one more thing I read somewhere that the Verizon note 2 was the only note 2 with a locked boot loader .If this is not true could you tell me how to unlocked it because I feel like I looked everywhere.
