Hi guys! I just want to share my experience. I got this huawei ascend p1 originally on ics version, when b336 update came out, i immediately grab it only to find out that this(b336) is such a headache and worst thing i cant flash any official rom aside from this(b336), not even intermdiate pack works. I learned to root my phone by using vroot, install different custom recovery by using recovery tool app(i didnt use pc because until now i cant find that fastboot driver). I tried different custom roms (b704 marismillas, cm10.1, cm10.2, cm11, aopk, jellybeer, miui v5, v4) but when i try other official firmware it always gives me version list failed. I read in one thread that this happens in b336 because it has different partition and he suggested to flash cyanogenmod or miui, i tried this miui 3.1.11 and without editing the build prop i force upgrade to intermediate pack and finally it worked. From there i flash official chinese firmwares (have to be rooted to be able to flash gapps). Well i hope my experience will help other newbie like me. See you guys!

hi harrymason37,
I'm very interested to root my P1, and install any other rom version, but i'm in the same situation with this B336 rom ****.
Actually I love my ascend P1, because it is very slim and good enough for me, but i can't use tethering with it when running B336. So i am thinking to buy another one and throw this P1 away...
Could you explain me step by step, how to do to escape to B336 ?
So could you indicate me what cyanogenmod you have used and the way to do that.
thanks a lot if you can.
Zelio
Download miui 3.11.1 rom
And download b704 firmware here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508020
Using Huawei p1 AIO tool, flash miui rom
Put b704 in your SD card and rename it as dload
Now force upgrade:
Turn off phone
Press volume up, down and power simultaneously
When Huawei logo appear, release power button only for about 3 seconds and press it again and count 3 seconds and release all the buttons the flashing should starts now
Practice!

There you have the oficial CyanogenMod 7 rom support, instalation and development issues support.
In my opinion it is the best 2.3 alternative rom for p350.
The steps i know only in portuguese, but i believe i will find it in this link too.
The factory installed apps, the most one you will install with a Google package inside this link too.
The others you can download again on play store.
following a different guide i was trying to install CM Invasion V2 ROM.. i never got to the flashing ROM part... i was backing up the current ROM unsing ROM manager and my cell fone bricked... after banging my head... looking for solutions on the net and again banging my head... i finally was able to revive my cell fone (using kdz updater)... all this is a risky business
can anyone give me a near perfect guide for flashing ROM without using ROM manager.. please..
You'll have to flash a custom recovery first. Amonra is very stable. Then you can make a nandroid backup of your current rom from the recovery for you to go back to. Flash the rom you like and enjoy. If you need to do back to your original rom, just restore back from your nandroid backup

now flash recovery by going on thread then do steps
for flashing roms do following steps on recovery
1.creat nandroid backup only once not for everytime you flash
2.then go in wipe section and wipe all data
3.then go to flash zip manu and find rom then flash
4.sometimes some rom needs advanced steps for flashing like cm 7 official needs to format/system(steps for it it mentioned by the developer on his thread)
done reboot then enjoy flashing.
hope this will help you...........................
in future do not install recovery from rom manager it will brick your phone untill it gets perfect for our device
Remember we have a wiki page for this phone with an all-in-one guide for modifying it (rooting, recovery, custom rom installation, troubleshooting). I try to keep it updated, nice and clean (kinda hard some times).
About Android versions: The Optimus ME comes with Froyo (2.2) there is no other official firmware for it. CyanogenMod 7 is based on Gingerbread (2.3) which now has official support and is working pretty good now (yes, previous versions were slow, buggy but now they're pretty stable)... Honeycomb (3.0) is only for tablets, so it's not coming to P350. CyanogenMod 9 is based on Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0), which for this device is still a work in progress, so don't expect a timeline nor a soon release. CyanogenMod 10 based on Jelly Bean (4.1) is still a myth for the P350...
I hope to have answered your questions...

Hello everyone.
I want to install cyanogenmod on my device, I am aware that there is not official rom for my device but there is an unofficial rom.
I did a research on the web and for what I understand there are some problem with my device because it is de latin-american version, I found a method too were I have to copy the "tee" folder from my device before installation and then paste it after the installation(that is supose to solve the 3g signal).
I am a complete begginer in custom roms, I have never installed one in my life. I have a lot of question: I need to have kitkat in my device to install the latest version of cyanogenmod? (my instincts says no but for what I have read I am not so sure) where can I go for a tutorial of installing roms? this rom (cyanogenmod) can work on my device?
The other alternative I have is slim bean, a jelly bean rom based on cyanogenmod(I even have found a tutorial in youtube that explain the installation and seems easy) but the link to download the rom is dead and there is a version specific for the latin american version.
by the way the latin american version is the one with a L at the end(gt-i8160L)
thanks
sorry if my english is bad.

As my device is a I8160, I'll answer the general questions.
The firmware that you need in your device would be a stock Jellybean firmware in order to install CM 10.1, 10.2 or 11 or any KitKat based ROMs.
As for the tutorial for flashing ROMs, this excellent guide by kyrillos13 might be able to help you (although it is meant for I8160..):

Before I start, I would like to say that I'm a newbie and therefore would appreciate it if people understand and help me with this
Anyways, I have a T211 rooted device and is also using the v1 of Deleterious Custom ROM (which is now called S.E.A.L. Rom). The kernel I'm using is blackhawk (the latest one, of course) and now I want to flash to the new KK firmware (I just learned that other countries - mostly Asia - received KK this month). So my question is...will I have to flash it through Odin? Will my root be deleted? What about my custom recovery (I'm using CMW, btw)? And is there a posibility that my device will be bricked using Odin?
Also, did anyone tried to flash any of the Asian KK updates? And were there any bugs? (If they were and as long as it wasn't a major one - say WIFI - then I probably still install it, just saying.). Please help.

It's not unusual for that entry in the build.prop to be blank, and shouldn't cause issues. I think the default there should be '11 11', though having it blank should be fine (pretty certain).
> Working perfect on stock based rom
Which roms are you flashing that are giving you problems? Many of the e980 roms are bugged out in various ways, maybe it's just a quirk of the one(s) you flashed? I had a similar problem recently, wifi just would *not* stay enabled, would not behave. I don't remember which rom it was though; I flash too much.
You've flashed the Kitkat 20g modem, yes? If all else flails, you could always flash back to Kitkat stock and start over, that's guaranteed to tell you whether its a hardware or software problem (if it persists after that: hardward, got to be).

Booyah: E980 20g Kitkat TOT.
Also, with Lollipop roms, I don't think any of them are totally stable or functionally 100% yet, so that's not a place to go if you want stuff to work. There's plenty of nice Kitkat roms like PAC-rom or Carbon-Rom is you want stability and want for your phone to work fully (but thats no fun! ).

Oh, no, you misunderstood: you don't use the CWM, you only install it and then quickly install *over* it with one of Freegee's recoveries. Never use the Sphinx CWM, as you'll get errors when you go to flash roms. You only insatll the Sphinx CWM so that Freegee will recognize your device and function, it's only a stepping stone to Freegee, not a recovery you should use on its own.
And, in light of recent developments on the TWRP 2.8 front, I'd say give that a try instead. It mounts your external SD just fine. THe only things I've flashed with it are BlissPop builds and Gapps, but all without an issue yet. Go for the one with the Play theme and enjoy its gorgeous colors.
Thanks buddy.. Freegee recognized my device and installed cwm succesfully

after kitkat update now I m installed those custom roms again but still there is a same wifi problem sick off totally !
Hi there.
I have the Huawei Acsend p6 phone, i have some rom of our cellular carrier, i'm not sure if it's custom or official rom with some minor changes. anyway, i can see that the build is "b130sp03".
i want to be at kitkat 4.4.2 with a good custom rom (one of the reasons i want custom is i not sure if my ver is official or not). the thing is: i'm new in this, and i don't know how i get from here to there.
i see some custom roms here, and each rom says you must have kitkat installed, or you must have this build installed before... so i go to the mentioned build, and then i see you must have that build before you install it... so i really don't know where to start and what is the right upgrade path for me.
can someone instruct me how to burn new custom rom from where i stand, and which builds (with links) i need to install after that in order to get to 4.4.2. Thanks a lot!
oh yeah. i rooted my devices. and install touch CWM
