its port based on CM10
If it's based on cm10, then it is not compatible with locked boatloader.

I told you!
For now no solution for V5, maybe someone port the rom and use stock bl, as it was on V4.
The main problem is that is that miui gave up on lt26i so we wont have an official solution.

Open the ROM.zip with 7zip, WinRAR or whatever and replace the current kernel with the stock kernel by copying stock boot.img and system/lib/modules folder into ROM.zip, that might work.

Also the build.prop is messed up. Is this really based on Stock (official) JB?
Code:
ro.build.display.id=cm_nozomi-userdebug 4.1.2 JZO54K eng.root.20130517.233532 test-keys
Code:
ro.cm.version=10-20130517-UNOFFICIAL-nozomi

MIUI V5 is NOT based on Official Kernel from Sony.
It does not work on Locked Bootloaders... still hopping they make a version with that kernel, but for now no options for LB with MIUI.
That's what I meant

I am currently on CM10.1 for Galaxy Grand (Custom ROM) and right now the baseband version i have is I9082XXAMD1. The latest updates to stock ROM through Samsung, updates the baseband version to I9082XXAME4.
How can i update my baseband version while using CM10.1?
With AMD1, CM10.1 is running absolutely fine (disregarding the bugs known). If i update to AME4, can it (will it) somehow affect the functioning of phone/call feature ?
Anyone?
You get no reply because you seem to confuse "baseband" to "firmware" version. The firmware XXAMF7 has baseband XXAMC4. Baseband pertains to the modem. If you have dual sim grand it will surely enable 2 sims on XXAMF7. CM10.1 works only on 1 sim.

I flashed stock ROM then revert back to cm10.1
From galaxy grand CM 10.1 firmware..
Worked. I hoped there would be an easier way though.

No.. there is no other easier way.. If you flash only the kernel file.. U will get unknown baseband issue.. So better flash the stock firmware then revert back to cm10.1.. this is the safest method..

Maybe flashing the modem not the kernel will solve the OP problem? AFAIK kernel flashing does not change the baseband. Pull the modem.img from the stock then add it to rar using winrar for example then flash over cm10.1 using odin. Anyway I have not tried it so OP you are on your own.

Answer
Why you don't try out to install rom through official recovery already installed in Grand.
I've got the same dilemma, I've got an s4, so I flash stock rom, then have to root that rom after update and reflash cyanogenmod?

No straight way to update baseband version
I'm on an i9295 with CM11, but the baseband (modem) version is leftover from the stock Touchwiz 4.2.2 I was using ages ago. It doesn't seem to be any fast/smart way to update it. I'll have to spend some time on this. The only way I can think of is the one proposed by rejocie001. I'll have to flash a newer Touchwiz firmware, which will update the baseband version, then I'll have to push CWM via Odin, which will hopefully allow me to flash the CM11 zip again.
If anyone has a better way to do it, please speak up, it can save me a lot of trouble. Don't leave me in the dark here.
Thanx.
only 3g
please help. i flashed my note 3 with cm12 and cm13 but i only get 3g connection. how can i make 4g again?
thanks

U should flash xxmc8 jb firmware if u want harald's cm10.
It's not a hard task.
1- download odin
2- download xxmc8 firmware (from sam mobile)
3- extract the file downloaded from sam mobile
4- flash it via odin as pda part
5- download cm10 (i prefer harald's version)
6-flash it via temporary cwm (see roms thread about installation process).
Any help needed? Just ask.

Hi there,
since I didn't enjoy compiling CM10.1 (even if it worked afterwards), I wanted to "start" developing on the stock 4.1.2 kernel but although my build booted, there was no signal.
I downloaded Samsung's source (GT-I8160_JB_opensource) and compiled it with the prebuilt compiler from CM's source (arm-eabi-4.4.3) embedding into the kernel binary the default initramfs from the stock kernel. Deleted caches and the phone booted normally, but the baseband was unknown and no service was present. Reflashing the stock kernel brought back signal and everything worked fine.
Any advice for a novice?
Thanks
try flashing other modem.bin.md5 (from other fw version)

Oooh thank you Rox...
I used the XEO XXMG2 release... but I don't see how would changing the modem solve anything, I mean, which should I use?
--EDIT--
May it be because I flashed the kernel by Heimdall instead of flashing it at runtime via the terminal (and thus the device is not official anymore)?
I forgot to tell that I'm doing all this on the stock ROM.
Do you have imei?

Nope, with my kernel *#06# gives "null / null". (With stock kernel everything works)
You tried other modems ?

No, I didn't because I don't have the possibility ATM
BTW all the other kernels I have tried didn't give me this issue.
