Then probably the heat and battery drain is from the bad wifi reception.

Yes agreed the wifi reception is not very good. But about the heat, do you have heat problems when the wifi reception is good ? So that we can know if the heat is connected to the wifi reception problems or not.

This sounds as a faulty P6 unit... Perhaps it's better to use warranty policies and talk with Technical service...
Regards.
i just went to the huawei shop this morning with my 2mnths old p6 with its warranty card...
they said nothing to worry cause its fine and normal... and said its not hot issue.. its just warm which smartphones as normal...
but wtf....
the battery area is on back ryt side... the warm area is on left... just down area of the camera and flash... and the metal area of the power and volume thats the area that keeps warm or hot when im using it.. and it start around 4-5 mins of straight use of cam... chatting, wechat.. fb... skype..
aside from it ... it dsnt affect its speed coz its fast responce and battry last a day smetimes 2days of minimal usage...
what my concern is why is it getting hot or warm on that area and is it normal because im afraid its just 2 months old....

Well Skype obviously would cause warm. Thats a heavy usage. And its normal to get warm on that, just as it get warm on games. But chatting on whatsup and such apps, then than its unusual to get warm over that.

My HTC Desire has a serious issue with battery life. Although I shut down most programs and connections, the battery lasts about 3 hours only. Also I have noticed that the phone gets quite hot on the back by the micro SD card. Do you think that my phone is faulty?
I posted the same question on,

mmmm 3 hours? i think its faultly.. my one last more or less a day with normal usage. gets warm when i use it a lot.

There are many tips in this thread and how to identify which application is using the most battery, and which are causing the device not to sleep correctly. Its a long thread, but worth the read.
If it is only lasting three hours no matter what you do, and it's getting THAT hot, then yeah... I would say there is an issue. Maybe it is shorting out somewhere. I would take it back if I were you. It can have poor battery life under VERY heavy use, but that's still pretty extreme... and I have never seen my battery get above 39c.
I had this last night, but only while I was charging the phone. I pulled the battery & it was around the microSD that was hottest. Took it out & replaced n rebooted...haven't had any problems since.
Doub't the microSD caused the problem but might be worth a try. Either that or when I rebooted I didn't start the app that caused the overheating.
Does it overheat if you just do nothing with it when u reboot?

Hot Battery
I received my HTC on Tues night and within half an hour the palm of my hand was burning inside and yet still not healed (Thurs AM). P10 of the safety guide says this is nonionizng radiation (sounds unhealthy). I believe that the aerial is just beside the SIM and card slot and holding this next to your palm is warned against in the manual. Bit strange since that is how you would hold a PDA. However, I informed my service provider (Three) and they said it must be a fault so are replacing (with new apparently). Slighlty concerning however I will reserve the option to refund until I see the new handset. I might add that I have HTC's XDA Guide for bus. and that battery also gets very hot, but not as quick! Why put an aerial next to a battery, the combination of the two, I beleive is casuing heat issues.

My phone was charging, WiFi was ON and I was browsering the internet, then i watched a movie. suddenly it started to smell like pommes frites. The phone was lying on a sleeping bag ( which is air tight and works like a heat shield ) and seriously it almost went flame on! lol

highest I've seen is 38°C, I believe above 45 is extremely hot
I've had to send mine back to HTC for "stress testing" as mine can't even get past 33°C without going into a reboot loop . It gets that hot just with some light use of GPS + Maps or Mobile Internet + Browsing.
Hopefully they at least replace the MoBo or possibly even the whole phone doubtful though...
hehe, my active holder in the car is in such a place I aim the vent/blower at the back of the Desire. No overheating while navigating with the airco on!
But I guess having something this fast (1ghz) in such a small package which uses quite some power as well means it's going to be hot real fast.
Although I don't find the Desire -that- much warmer/hotter than some of the other phones I've owned.
I guess when your Desire gets really hot (over 40C-45C or something) you can always give HTC or the warranty service a call. Perhaps when some parts don't sit properly on the cpu (something like a cooling frame or whatever), temperatures will rise a lot. And might even cause the phone to reboot.
Hi, I had similar problems that is very evident when i started playing games. I sent back to HTC 3 times before they finally replaced my mobo. I suggest you guys do the same
Hi everyone

Anyone know how to solve this problem ?
Just as a disclaimer, every phone will lose signal if you grip it a certain way. Remember the iphone debacle?
But the quick fix is to just put a case on it. Your body will no longer interfere with the antenna and your phone will have the added bonus of surviving a fall.

Downside is cases tarnish the natural beauty of the phone that the cell phone manufacturers intended. I just take the risk. I would rather have a nice looking phone IMHO.
I already have this one http://www.otterbox.com/HTC-G2-/-HT...C4-G2XXX_color=20&start=1&cgid=desire-z-cases
gripping ANY phone tightly/awkwardly over the antenna will cause loss of signal. Some are worse than others, but it happens to any modern phone with an internal antenna. Cases help, but you're still going to be able to replicate it if you try hard enough. The phones are designed so that the antenna will more than likely not be blocked if you're holding it in any normal conventional way during regular use.
One usual culprit for the G2/DZ is the WiFi signal getting weaker when using the hardware keyboard, because your hands are covering the top and bottom of the device.
so isn't any idea to solve or help a little with this problem ?

Like I just said, there's nothing you can do other than just don't hold the phone in such a ridiculous way. You can't move the antenna inside the phone, it is where it is.
In normal use I highly doubt you'll ever see drastic signal drop because of the way you hold your phone. Nobody normally holds a phone in the way shown in the video.
So tell me how to play in gameloft games where all of them is in landscape mode

like I said, using the phone normally (yes even playing games in landscape) your signal shouldn't drop so low that you will be completely disconnected from the network. Don't get scared just because the bars drop.
But i already play at Order and Chaos and this game are also in landscape mode and unhappily i get lost connection every few minutes ;/ and the game has reconnecting.

There's nothing I can tell you. The antenna is where it is. If for some reason you're in a low signal area to start and you cover the antenna you're going to see loss of signal.
Tell me if i give back this mobile on warranty then they are able to solve issue ?

You're not listening. Every phone has this issue if you hold it in the right place. Its a cell phone with an antenna. Its just going to happen, there's nothing you or the manufacturer can do to "fix" it after the phone has been made.
I acutally thought this was a radio problem. I switched radios and noticed a slight improvement.

A radio update can help your signal a bit overall, but it will never remove the effect of strategically covering the physical antenna. What it would help with is a default low signal, that gets worsened to the point of disconnection from the network by covering the antenna (aka your normal signal could be higher, so that when it gets lessened it still stays connected).
This thing gets hot. I've had an HTC Hero, LG Optimus, and HTC Evo 4G before (all on Sprint) and none of them got hot unless I was charging it and talking on the phone.
But this Nitro gets hot after just a minute of browsing the internet, or even just playing with the settings (ie not using the radio). It's not the battery getting hot either. It's up on top of the phone around the camera. I have no idea what's causing it.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Yeah.. that happens to all of us. Under-volting helps a bit.
Welcome to the hell that is the Nitro's constant overheating!
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing it! lol

Depending on how new your phone is, if you can still return it I would honestly suggest doing that. This phone WAS good when it was first released, but the other offerings on the market now (HTC one X, galaxy S 3, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Nexus) blow it away.
The screen is awesome, but you can't only base a phone's performance on it's screen quality.

It's a software issue I believe. If after using ur browser of the Facebook app and hit home then open the stock application manager u will see the browser can use up to 28% and Facebook spiking to 70% CPU usage and since the small logic board holding the core CPU is at the top of the phone it can cause the overheating in that area

Gotcha.
Does anyone know if CM9 fixes this? Or maybe the ICS update will?
The phone will always get hot if you are heavily using the CPU, regardless of what ROM you're using. That is considered normal. It doesn't mean your phone or ROM is defective UNLESS your phone is rebooting when it gets too hot (i.e., it's overheating).
The Nitro is just designed with a CPU that gets hotter than most.
mine doesn't get hot. warm yes. hot, not in the slightest.
Mine starts to get hot after about 10 minutes on a voice call. After about 20 minutes I have to go to speaker phone because it's just uncomfortable to have next to my ear. I'm hoping that this is a software issue and that it gets resolved with the official ICS release.

? snapdragon is in alot of phones wtf are u talking about.
mine only got "hot" one time, when i left it in the direct sunlight in the car with the windows up and was shopping for 30 min or so, when i came back it was hot, i left it on mistake.
other than that i've only had it very warm a few times, when charging while doing heavy usage, this is because your battery gets real hot, you can get widgets that give you the temperature of your battery, which is more likely to overheat than your cpu, unless your cpu is overclocked too much.
if your phone is getting warm brand new, your battery is getting broken in, don't panic, keep an eye on it though and it should break in over time. my battery got warm alot faster when it was new, and it didn't get as much lifespan as it does now, as far as i know this is normal.

Sure - any huge data usage, (especially with 3g/4g/lte) will cause the phone to heat up in the cpu area - this can be coupled with high graphics usage, and/or high ram usage -
electricity generates heat as a waste product - it wont get too hot, but it will heat up.
My gs2 would occasionally get so hot i didn't want to hold it or let it sit in my pocket
My new gs4 got plenty warm when redownloading my podcasts, and durring the first google device restore.

I believe there is firmware update that is compatible with the I9505 Tmo variant. You may want to do some searching and check it out.

Heat is not the same thing as over-heating. These chips have a maximum operating temperature rating of upwards of 70c. There are a myriad of reasons why any two devices would operate at higher or lower temperatures including ambient temperature, radio actions (high-throughput or low signal recovery), and of course running processes. There will always be people who think their phone is "too hot" since it is a purely subjective claim.
yeah honestly is at 40c and thats beyond hot!!

Yep, mine heats up on the top back of the phone. But it doesn't overheat when I'm on the phone though. I talked for over two hours and the phone stayed cold. But if I play around with menu and installing apps, it gets noticeably warm. I used S2 for two years and didn't remember it getting this warm.

Like others mine heats up at the top back at times but never to a serious, uncomfortable degree. Pretty sure my Blaze would get hotter at times from less taxing usage.

51°C no runing games or anything heavy as i said (App:CPUTemp ).

I think its normal in normal hot weather conditions. Mine is at 47 right now.
In compare to my device (CM11 by Rox) my idle temp is around 20 C and MAX 45 C after few hours of Thr Room gaming. In GPS routing mounted to the front window of my car and 500 km. of direct sunlight + incar temperature Around 30 C the max that I was saw is 54 C. Please, check the others opinions of others S3 Neo owners, because for me, your temps is high enough!
Regards

Strange but i remember once i had the same issue on using net through chrome and i had a pouch like this. I did nothing. I turned off my mobile for few minuts and it was just fine. But in low signals i have never used chrome again. If your phone is doing this continually then may be there is a problem. Then try to use mobile without pouch.
Relax sometimes it happens.

Oh good. Then i think it was just a little issue for some moments. Anyway good luck. Have a safe and sound mobile.
May u should check you battery, because I had a similar issue and recognized yesterday that the battery is bloated. I used it for 9 months, and I think the life expectany of a battery is higher. Just a hint, the phone was always warmer than others also for me.

From the screenshot attached you can see that batery temperature is much lower.
Looking now i see 50°C CPU and 37°C battery.
Also if you still have the phone could you measure the temperature after 5min of light web browsing?
The model is i9301i single sim with the same silicone case. I think the problem is your non bloated software. Do you have high usage of the phone resources? Facebook, twitter or something? What about the rom?

Don't use any of facebooks, twitters and other stuff.
I like to keep low as possible.
Usualy 90% of battery goes to screen.

Hey man hey hey
I think your CPU Temp app is a crap. Take a look at attachments. I took them at the same time. But i am using two different apps. And i am just using UC browser and whatsapp right now.
First try another app. If problem doesn't solve then it might be the signal problems.
And right now..... take a look please

Take it easy. Use your phone without pouch. And update your mobile to new firmware.
