How do I figure out the proper ROM and CSC that the phone should have to recieve natu - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys! I bought a 2nd hand Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Although jelly bean 4.3 is out for the device and in my country, it is still not updated. It seems like the previous owner changed the ROM and CSC of the device before.
Of course, I am unable to contact the original owner. I got this from a buy and sell shop.
Is there any way for me to figure out the right ROM version and CSC for the device so it can get the normal updates from Samsung?
Thank you so much!

I bought my GT-N7100 in Indonesia. It is compatible with my phone?
The firmware is for China,I f your phone is N7100,you shouldn't face any problem..so go for it.But,Beware it might contain KNOX enabled bootloder,so do some research before flashing..

Hi ,
Don't flash this ROM for Indonesia version of Note 2.
The boot loader for China Note 2 is different from International ones.
There are strong reasons, that you may brick your phone. Thanks
Hi there,
Sorry to resurrect a month old thread. I just wanted to chuck my findings at this as I have recently received a GT-N7100 CHN N7100ZCUEMK3 Galaxy Note 2 as a birthday present from my wife. And if anybody could recommend any suggestions that would be great!
As I now live in the UK as opposed to China I was getting frustrated that I couldn't use Google Play and the default search engine is Baidu and can't be changed to Google, so i've been trying for the past few days to flash it but it just won't work.
I've been downloading only the official stock roms for the international N7100 and so far i've tried 10 versions from various regions (Europe, UK, India, US) and none of them work. Some fail the moment you hit start on Odin, others will go through the entire process and fail at the end - thus soft bricking my mobile.
Luckily I have been able to use Kies to restore it - which I've installed on the laptop as opposed to my PC which is doing the flashing - but this just puts it back to Chinese mode.
I should also note that the China version is Knox enabled - mine is now burned so anybody else trying this really ought to be careful.

Sorry to resurrect so old thread, but I have an exact same phone with that firmware from China, and wanted to put either the international version or cyanogenmod on it. So did you ever get anything besides China roms installed?

Lollipop for AT&T Galaxy Note 4.

Hello Everyone,
I am from India and I recently bought a Factory Unlocked AT&T Galaxy Note 4 online (The phone is from US). It has Kitkat on it and I dont think I can get Lollipop over OTA for my phone. I found a link to download N910AUCU1COC4, So my question is can I go ahead and flash my phone with this firmware?
I just want to make sure it will not cause any problem likes phone getting locked again or something? (This would really suck )
I will really appreciate your help guys.
Thanks,
NJ
You can flash it thru Odin... Good luck!

Hey i know it's a bit late but is there anyway you can supply that link???

Flashing generic Samsung firmware to carrier branded Tab S4 (SM-T837T -> SM-T835)

I think this has been asked before in a different way in this section but no real response yet. I did some research in the other Samsung device forums and see that often it is possible to remove branding or switch carriers adjusting device ID and bootloader etc. But no idea how to do it for the Tab S4.
I'm sick of waiting for slow updates through T-Mobile (or any carrier) and would like to fully unlock it's potential with Android 10 rather sooner than later. I bought this device second hand network unlocked.
Any short or long answer to these questions? Can it be done? If so where to start?
Am looking to do so, with the t835 you will have full calling functionality,,,

not needing the calling function on a tablet. but steady updates are welcome... tired of waiting twice.. first for Samsung with slow update policies then another time for carriers that already got their money and cant care much a anymore...
i'd be looking for T835C since I'm in China now.

The short answer is no.
I've tried that after I found my T837V can be successfully loaded with T837R4/T837T/... firmware. I thought maybe I could flash stock firmware of other versions. But if you do that with any firmware other than T837*, you will get "secure check fail pit" error. So sadly no.

Thanks for the response! So it does mean you can freely flash T837 versions which could mean I can just wait for the first version that comes out with android 10. Any first release should work. Right?
Turkey version has it:

T837 is Turkey version and I've tried it. It can't be loaded, maybe it need to be T837x which are all US variants.
As for Android 10 update, I think this will work. I'm waiting for the first one who gives the OneUI 2.1 update. So far the Verizon version(T837V) seems to have the most active firmware updates.
In the USA, SM-T837 ARE carrier tablets.
There are the SM-T837A, V, and T; ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile. TheSe are locked to the Carrier. If you have them unlock it, OTA upgrades are over. If you know how to hack the firmware, you can write over the carrier version. The best way to go is probably custom ROM AND ROOTING. But in other nations, it will probably work to write a different Samsung ROM. The SM-T835 HAS no US version, so you can probably write any tab s4 Factory ROM to it.
The USA HAS so many cellular devices, the rules are strict. And, the carriers sell the devices pretty cheap. So, they want them to stay with their service.
T-mobile update for android 10 finally out just got it

Send it back. With a tripped Knox efuse if you're using as a stock phone many secure features will be unavailable. The only way to fix it be to replace the mobo.
If you use it rooted some work arounds are available. That said the N10+ will run very stock once optimized. Unless he wants it to be rooted make the seller eat it.
