Hi!
I'm trying to have text that hugs the outside of a circle. Now if the text string is long it pulls away from the curve of the circle and if the string is short it curves right into the circle.
I'd like to have it just ride the outside of the circle no matter if it's 10 characters or 100.
Anybody have an idea how this is done?
Many thanks in advanced!
Hi,
What parameters are you using to define the curve?
Regards
Ok,
I've had a play and this seems to work.

Define the circle, here I have a Diameter* of 180*.
Add a text module, set the Text Alignment to Centre.
Set Curve to 175, now the magic bit is setting the Width which is Pi × Diameter* = (3.14 × 180*) = 565
I've learnt something today, l hope this helps.

It did help. Couple of questions!
1) How'd did you figure out the 'Curve' angle?
2) The shape outline just color that so it vanished? Correct?
I think I got it!
Mark,
Is it possible to have the text upside down at the bottom of the circle so that reads right?
BTW you're like God for this little trick!
Hi,
Good stuff.
1. Just a bit nerdy with numbers, as it was based on circles Pi came to mind (shame I'm not smart enough to do anything productive with it )
2. Yeah, I just put it there so I could see what was happening.
Play around with Rotate in 90 degree steps (you will need to adjust X and Y positions) this will move the centre point of your text to 3, 6 or 9 o'clock.
If you change the Curve to a negative number it will bend the text in the opposite direction (you will need to reduce the Width, which appears to be;
(diameter-(font size+some spacing from the circle)*Pi
Here the width is (180-(15+4))*Pi = 505.

This formula, where did the 15+4 come from? I'm following the rest. I would need to make another lay to do this since the text would be inside the circle. Not a problem. And I guess that circle outline is going to help as a point of reference.
Interesting!
What could be interesting is if Zooper every animated something like this. But .. I'm sure that would go against being battery efficient.
Thanks for all your help! :good:
Hi,
15 is the font size and 4 is approx the space between the text and the circle.

If I could bother you one last time?
Is there an easy way to absolute center elements on the grid? That would make lining these circles so much more easy!
Thanks again!

Hi,
Unfortunately it appears that circles are anchored on the point that they are drawn, imagine the place where you would put a pencil to draw one by hand.
I agree it would be easier if the anchor point was the centre the circle.

Didn't put this in Themes, since it doesn't exist yet.
Anyways, I was thinking about going ahead and finally diving into theming... however I didn't want to just go with what's been done before. I wanted to create something new. Something different. Something that doesn't try to be something it isn't (yes, I stole that from the Google event speech).
Sat down with photoshop and 3 hours time. This is what I came up with, and I'm here for opinions:

Of course, nothing about this is set in stone, that's why I'm here. Testing the waters if you will.
So... thoughts?
Looks cool. i think it would be much easier if the notification Widgets were
+ lit up = activated
x darkened = deactivated
Just a thought
Also if you could make one with a more neutral colored theme I would be sure to use it. Blue and yellow reminds me of my most hated elementary school

I was thinking along the lines of "X" for turn it off (since it's on), and "+" for turn it on (since it's off). I can see what you're thinking though.
I was building it on a complementary color system, but I can look into other colors too.

I'll look into changing the yellow, since nobody seems to like it.
I like it. Especially the X being the only, If you follow the Slenderman mythos that is the operator symbol. I like it cause it says that the item with the symbol is in operation.

Awesome.
Looks like I'll go ahead and start learning to theme then. Anyone have any suggestions as to what color to replace the yellow with?
Also, does anyone know if drop-shadows (or just a black glow) are possible in a theme?
Looks clean and cool... I even sorta kinda liked your yellow! Haha.... Would definitely run your theme if you decided to make it.
Yeah, I think your colors look good, I am interested to see how it turns out
Looks like something out of the X-Men comics. I like it a lot!
Hey guys, I bought the white wireless charging kit from Alibaba express and it works perfectly however I wasn't too happy about the indicator lights as they were too bright for me and I couldn't sleep at night with those bright LED's..so I went ahead and carried out a small mod. This might be helpful to someone so thought I'd share it here.
I opened up the charger and placed a thick piece of tape on one of the sides right next to the LED's. This side faces my bed so I wanted to make sure all that light bleed was taken care of.

Then I cut out small pieces of black tape and placed them right above the LED's.
Here's how it looks.
I also stuck an NFC sticker on the inside which I've programmed to toggle between silent modes and use before going to bed.
Here's how it looks, a good round LED with no light bleed and NFC functionality as a bonus
Sorry I didn't take any before pictures but those who own this charger will know how it looks and is not very pleasant.
Cheers.

you should of opt for a black base, not light bleed and less bright.
I personally just used a single strip of black electrical tape.solved all that within seconds.
Do you happen to have any before pics for comparison?

Nice.... The design kinda reminds of Ulysses Nardin watches for some reason, albeit a bit more on the simpler side. It would be awesome if someone made a UN face

Thanks for the great watch face, the black and orange is my go to face.
The recent update still has the day off for me, it says Monday, but its Sunday at 9:30 am.
I guess we have to wait for Facer to really get to the bottom of it.
That's really strange, I use 1 of these everyday and it has never been wrong for me. Noe it would be a lot easier to adjust though. If you go into Tue settings for that hand you should just be able to adjust the +2.
My watch shows Sunday, see attachrd screenshot

I'm not sure what you mean by +2.
Where do I add that in the rotation code?
The updated face should use the following for the rotation
((((#DD#+((#Dyy#+2)%7))%7)+(#DH#/24))*(360/7)) if yours doesn't display that, its not the updated version.

Yea, i returned mine and now its much better. Not sure how good the quality control is on these phones but maybe we just got unlucky with this issue.
I came to post something similar but I'm not sure if it's an actual issue it app specific honestly. I'll try to get a shot of it but it's Garrett noticable. Over in the top left there's sometimes a slightly discolored line. Very faint. But it's only there when using certain apps. Some apps it doesn't show at all. It's really noticable with Twitter. Another strange thing about this line is it doesn't matter the background color. It's shows up with dark apps and light apps. But not all apps these colors. It's very bizarre... It's where the glass starts to curve I'm my opinion.
