I have a feeling that people are only looking in the "ROM" section of the ZL XDA section, and NOT reading through the forums.
*
I've linked people to to Rom's and kernels a lot lately, and these threads are easy to find if you look in the "Forum" section of XDA.
*
I hate how they have tabbed out and tried to filter the section. It just creates apathy and lazy people, lol.
*
There are more Roms, and development related threads than just the ones you find in the Rom section.
*
Attachment 1 is of the Rom section in the ZL forums. It only shows a handful of whats actually out there. BUT NOT EVERYTHING
*
Attachment 2 is where to go to find ALL the development being done or posted on XDA relating to our device.
*
I know this thread seems unnecessary, and it should be.
*
But I think it might help a couple noobies, or lost individual.
*
Just sort of a push in the right direction.
*
Hope it helps!

This is just a small plea to those of you who help the Moderators by reporting posts using the red triangle.
There are two situations where it would be useful if you give us just a little more information:
1
If you report a post saying "this thread is posted in the wrong forum", then it would be useful to suggest a better forum to move it to.
2
If you report a thread saying "there is already a thread on this topic" then it would be useful to have a link to the other thread.
I know some members do this already, but it really does save a lot of time for tyhe Moderators, if they do not have to search around forums with which they may not be familiar. It may help to know that many Moderators will deal with such issues, even if they do not know much about that specific device or the forums in question - we will not be annoyed in any way, if you suggest where things can be moved to or merged etc.

They also mention Rom Manager as an easy way to get ROMs.

We are all over the WWW as a reference point
I love the part where they mention and actually encourage you to root your device and then mention that it voids you warranty but then also that you can unroot.
Props to ALL THE DEVS who have made everything we enjoy possible.
Xda will take over the world one day.

Nice: I have noticed xda being referenced in many online sites (like mobilecrunch) as wel as in the good old fashioned hardcopy magazines.
Probs to all the people making this site the place to visit for all mobile phone related tips & tricks, dev work and Q&A
All your base are belong to us!
i liked the picture.. XDA ftw!
Hehe...sweet!
AAAAHHHHHHH!
Before asking stupid questions as a NOOB I should first search the forms. But it seems the search field had vanished after some database maintenance (at least, that is what it said).
Is this a stupid question or what?!
Nope, not stupid. Has vanished for me also...
I think they've taken it offline due to high server load issues or something like that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php (there is a note that it is disabled for the time being).
How about the search widget?
Pretty damn interesting question
Haha

Why not use the Android app.
The search button won't vanish.
Though it's also not giving the results
Seems like a torture. I managed to search via Google. Try typing xda along with the search terms. May help.

If your using the new theme then it may be in the collapsible side bar. Otherwise it's a bug due to some backend server jiggery pokery.

*NON-NOOB FORUM FOR SGS3*
Xda community,
I decided to start this thread to help some oldcomers along. Senior members feel free to ask any questions in here. I'll point you in the right direction and tell you how I found that information.
YOU KNOW YOU'RE A NOOB IF..
- You are new to rooting
- You are new to flashing roms
- New to adb, fast boot, drivers, bootloaders
- You don't understand the terminology
- You don't know the difference between a rom and a kernel
- You don't know how to use XDA forums
- You can't explain what rooting is and what it does
Is this a joke? Now we have 3 Q&A threads...

On some real sh*t, definitely feels like some apple/samsung type shhiit going on lmao .. As long as its cutting back on confusion..
I'm sure the "old comers" already know where to look and what to look for. Besides xda does have a search feature.

Ok, so shouldn't the FP3 (and FP3+) get a forum section? And if so, is that something normal users can do or do we need help from staff?
