*NON-NOOB FORUM FOR SGS3*
Xda community,
I decided to start this thread to help some oldcomers along. Senior members feel free to ask any questions in here. I'll point you in the right direction and tell you how I found that information.
YOU KNOW YOU'RE A NOOB IF..
- You are new to rooting
- You are new to flashing roms
- New to adb, fast boot, drivers, bootloaders
- You don't understand the terminology
- You don't know the difference between a rom and a kernel
- You don't know how to use XDA forums
- You can't explain what rooting is and what it does
Is this a joke? Now we have 3 Q&A threads...

On some real sh*t, definitely feels like some apple/samsung type shhiit going on lmao .. As long as its cutting back on confusion..
I'm sure the "old comers" already know where to look and what to look for. Besides xda does have a search feature.

Hey guys, im reading the new Popular Science magazine and theres an article about customizing your android phone, and they say to visit XDA to learn how to root your phone, as well as install a custom ROM.
They also mention Rom Manager as an easy way to get ROMs.
Just thought id let you guys know
Interesting
Oh yea! Here's a (crappy) picture of it!

We are all over the WWW as a reference point
I love the part where they mention and actually encourage you to root your device and then mention that it voids you warranty but then also that you can unroot.
Props to ALL THE DEVS who have made everything we enjoy possible.
Xda will take over the world one day.

Nice: I have noticed xda being referenced in many online sites (like mobilecrunch) as wel as in the good old fashioned hardcopy magazines.
Probs to all the people making this site the place to visit for all mobile phone related tips & tricks, dev work and Q&A
All your base are belong to us!
i liked the picture.. XDA ftw!
Hehe...sweet!
OK I know this sounds kinda ridiculous but I will donate $50 to the first person who makes a perfect working AOSP ROM for the ET. No jokes and please at least reply if you are interested
Here we go again.

Personally, I Agree With Him. This Is The Best Phone On Sprint And Yet NOBODY Is Giving It ANY ICS Love. Somebody PLEASE Prove Me Otherwise.
I am happy with Gingerbread
Tried ICS on my Nexus s 4g, no great shakes...I am happy with Gingerbread on this phone ... once ICS is officially released the devs will make it even better here..
Not trying to be rude to the OP but someone please delete this thread. We had way too many problems with the last one.
There are forces at work on ics for our phone already. I hate the saying but 'patience is a virtue'. Just hand tight. I'm guessing that by the end of Feb at the latest we will have an ics rom
Based on previous experience and XDA's general disdain for these bounty threads - closing this thread. ICS is in the works but it's not so easy. Bounty threads don't work - period.
Hey guys,
I know there are mods out there to get any apps working on Multi-View with rooted Galaxy Note 2's. Has any one attempted to use one of these hacks with the Sprint version? Or do we have to wait to get firmware specific mods to achieve this?
Totally wrong section bro.... Do a little more searching and don't be scared to test something out to let us no if it works or not lol

Ok, I will post somewhere else. I know some type of mod has to be applied for this and you have to be rooted.

I haven't been on this forum in a long time. I just recently switched back to Android from iPhone 5. Apple really let me down...
I've already contacted goddamnit for the unlimited apps for multi window mod for Sprint. As of now it only works for deodexed roms. Patience, we will get some love soon.

Stock deodexed LJC found here, thanks to Josh

Is XDA really spreading malware?
No, that's a false-positive.

what he said^
Got the black one, maybe I should have gotten the white one, but either way I like the carbon fiber look.
I opened the thread where it has a ton of guides and it looks fairly simple as I've done this many times for all sorts of phones.
Being I just got the phone (10 minutes ago, lol) I'd figure I better ask first.
here is the root youtube from that guide
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7aaJB-8FYU
Then after I do that, I am going to reset the Binary Counter by using this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FXULkN5rAU
Do this look kosher ???
Am I good to go?
I don't plan on installing a rom right this second, but I would like to get it rooted for certain apps, and of course to be able to install a recovery.
Thanks
Lol man. I just popped my sim card and set up xda app and already wanting to root it. Its literally been 10 minutes for me
