[Q] Network Unlock Code Didn't Work - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hi Everyone,
I was recently supplied with a Network Unlock code by my old carrier which failed to unlock the phone (xperia so, stock firmware, no root)
Their tech department are adamant the code is correct and should work.
Their latest advice was to take it to a phone shop who of course were complete useless.
Has anyone any ideas?
My gut tells me the carrier has supplied the wrong code but I don't see how I can prove that unless I pay to get it unlocked on the highstreet.

record a video and send it to your network provider
or use some of the online services to unlock your device for free
(google somewhat)

[Q] Unlocking Problem URGENT

Hello,
I bought a Samsung Captivate Glide i927 (Rogers), and it was locked. In my country, I went to a local phone shop and they unlocked the phone. But after 1 month of normal using, the phone was locked again. So I went again and unlock the phone for the second time. Unfortunatly, after 1 month of using, the phone was locked again. Why? I don't know.
It was after I was restarting the phone. The phone asked me to enter the PIN code as usual. I entered the PIN code that I usually enter which is 0000. The phone writes "code accepted" then after 1 second the phone shows a black screen in which I read that the PIN code is incorrect and I have to contact the provider. I can use the phone applications, but I can't call or send a text message. I always receive "Not registered on the network". When I write *#746562#, the phone give me a list of information in which I read "Network Lock [ON]".
How to unlock my phone Again? Where I have to get the unlocking code? Is it free? is it for 1 month or for ever? What is the problem in my phone? Is there a trusted website where I can buy the unlocking code forever?
I unlocked an SGH-I927R in a way that's kept the IMEI intact and that's not out of reach for anyone with a bit of technical ability. It does require ADB, a hex editor and either root or CWM.

This came way too late ... I used Fast-GSM ... it takes longer than usual, I don't get an actual unlock code but did it with my ACE as well.
Its a bit more expensive, but hook his app up via USB w/ debugging, run the unlock tool whamo. Unlimited ROM installed, rebooting etc. Cyangenmod and it stayed unlocked.
Now, also on my i927r (Rogers) same deal stays unlocked.
I do wish I had seen this thread earlier, great that there's free ways to unlock it and pull out the code. Big thanks for doing that write up!

[Q] [Q} Sim not allowed MM# 3

hello guys, i just need some help with galaxy SIII, i bought it on ebay and it's for at&t, today, i went to unlock it so i can use it with metro pcs, some guy put the unlock code and it said " network unlocked " , so after that , i was trying to call some other phone, just to see if it was working, it showed me the error " emergency calls only", the guy told me to restart it, now it's showing me on the lock screen this error message " SIM Not allowed MM # 3 " , i don't know what to do right now, i need some help
the phone it's on 4.3 OTA Update
Might need a different/newer SIM. Otherwise I have no idea.

the SIM it's new, got it 2 weeks ago with another new phone i bought from metropcs, but do you know what that error means or something ? because i've seen different ones, like MM#6 & MM#4
Is the phone blacklisted?
Not a clue on the error. Never seen anyone else report one like that before.
the phone it's not blacklisted, everything it's clean

I'm in Canada and I use this website to check for black lists: http://www.protectyourdata.ca/check-the-status-of-your-device-in-canada/
If you want, could input your imei as another check.
I see Metro PCS uses AWS bands which the i747 and i747m does not natively support (http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/1498...-network-frequencies-and-phone-compatibility/).
Yeah.wanna to unlock your phone try galaxsim unlock apk from play store.

Easily sim unlock your Samsung Galaxy family smartphone/tablet (S, S2, S3, some S4, Tab, Tab2, Note, Note2...) so you can use any other network operator.
No need for unlock code on most devices: as simple as one button click, and you can change your carrier sim card !
GalaxSim Unlock is*. Even with recent ICS or JB roms update, your GS2, GS3, GS4 or Note2 won’t relock after reboot.

[Q] E980: "Your phone is not personalized"

This has been a royal PITA so far (NIB AT&T, for use on Metro/T-Mobile). I've slowly fixed issues to get towards a working phone, but am not there yet. Fixed the access point entries not saving issue. Created an APN with numbers taken from my other working phone. My phone number is now back, listed under status. The wrong IMEI was there without a SIM, but went blank when the SIM was inserted. Now there is the wrong IMEI there no matter if the SIM is in or not. I also have a signal now, which wasn't the case before. I can also search for networks in the area & it returns several. No incoming calls, & outgoing calls gives me an "Emergency calls only" pop-up. It seems the issue I have left are not being able to connect to a network, which I thought might be a carrier lock issue, possibly tied to the mismatched IMEI's. That brings me to the post title. If I keypad in 2945#*980# I get to the unlock screen that says "SIM unlock process". There are 5 choices to click on, but everyone returns "Your phone is not personalized", with a dismiss button underneath that statement. Does the SIM need to be rewritten to match the one in the battery compartment?, & what to do about the SIM unlock screen?
The phone was off overnight with no SIM installed. Fired it up & the screen said the SIM was missing, turn off, insert SIM, restart. I did that & now the message "phone not allowed mm#6" is on the screen.
Need to get it unlocked.

If you reread the OP you will see that it's not possible. I'd have a code, but also 5 greyed out areas where it would not be possible to enter it.
Ok.. Use Google. Your phone needs to be unlocked!

I've spent the last month using Google. The only thing I've come up with is possibly something like an Octoplus box to unlock it via USB, but no definitive answer yet.
I forgot to state that I contacted the seller & they didn't want the phone back. They directed me to a service center. I sent the phone out & received it back a few days ago. They voided my warranty & told me I was SOL. Now I'm thinking I need to buy something like an Octoplus Box, but can't get a definitive answer on whether it will work or not on my issues. Skip forward to today. Found a local place, visited them, & was told the phone is indeed unlocked. A prepaid AT&T SIM card connected to the network. A call to Metro resulted in them registering the screen IMEI to their network. The phone now works with my SIM card. Problem solved. That doesn't say much for the customer service of the seller or the warranty company.

Search the forum, there are methods with a bump'd image. You can also pay $5 for an unlock code which is what I did. Good luck

Bump is for a bootloader unlock, not for a sim unlock. But you can find it here (ONLY USE WITH KITKAT).
Just contact the carrier via their support site, open a chat session and request an unlock code. There's no charge, and you'll receive it during the session. You could also try the Mobile Device Unlock app if on T-Mobile...
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-14011
Again, if on T-mobile these are the unlock requirements

Will try that thanks
Same problem
Hey guys, I'm having the same problem
I own a D855 phone bought at SFR (in France), I'm about to change of carrier but SFR made a mistake when they created my unlock code, so now they are contacting LG to have a new code, but it'll be too long... (up to 4 weeks)
I'm sure there might be a way to unlock a network without to have to pay, right ? Don't know, maybe a file to edit or replace or something like that ?
My carrier will be automatically changed in about 2 days, and I wont be able to use my carrier services network anymore in 2 days if my phone/network isn't unlocked.... So no more texts, no more calls, ...
I'm using Fulmics ROM & last Xceed kernel
Thanks
UPDATE : I bought an unlock code on https://www.freeunlocks.com but they gave me the same code that my carrier gave me. This code doesn't work...
I really need help, any way to unlock my phone and use it with my new carrier please....

i bought a tmobile phone on ebay and its locked Help?

can anyone help me? I need to get the phone unlocked so i can use straight talk.
Locked how?
Sim locked I'm going to assume. If so, you need to contact T-Mobile or use an online un-locking service.
Use unlock app that comes with phone...I use hola app and change location to US and open the tmobile unlock app since I'm OS...I had no issues unlocking...howver for me...I had a US tmobile sim card so you might need to get a hold of one
