Is there any way to make a customized pack of apps we need to be installed after flashing a new rom ?
Like i have to install facebook, whatsapp, viber , skype and so on , when ever i flashed a new rom, Is that possible to pack the apps we need in to a package and flash them just like we flash Gapps ?
You can make an update.zip in titanium backup for sure, so that it can be flashed in recovery. I have to find, though, where this option is. Probably somewhere in batch actions.

If I root my desire and flash a custom ROM will all the apps I have installed now
would be gone?
And if I bought an app, will I have to buy it again after rooting and a new ROM?
thanks
oh and im sorry if this is in the wrong section
For the first question, I think all your apps will be deleted just if you want. In doc kitchen, are two versions of rom, with wipe and no wipe, but the recomanded version is that which will wipe all your data. You can backup all your apps before that.

You can just back up all the apps via Titanium backup from the market. It will also backup your user data.
So you should go:
1) root & install custom recovery (usually part of rooting process)
2) install Ti Backup and run a batch backup of all user apps and data
3) make sure all your contacts are google contacts! Then they will just be re-imported when you register your google account on your new rom
4) pick your rom and download its zip file - copy this to the root of your sd card.
5) boot into recovery and factory reset i.e. wipe everything
6) still in recovery, select "install from zip" and pick the zip file above
7) reboot and wait (can be slow the first time), then run a batch restore from Ti backup and you are done!
Thank you very much its very helpful.
Do paid apps stay as well?

Yep they will all be backed up.
I forgot a step too - you should always do a nandroid backup (this is done in recovery) before wiping and flashing rom in case something screws up.
This way you can restore what you previously had through recovery.

When you paid an app on the Market, the info is attached to your Google account. So when you configure a new rom with your Google account, you see in the Market those apps are paid and you can download them again for free.
hello,
I rooted back in 1/2011 using Unrevoked3.
From there I changed from clockwork to amon-ra, installed busybox v1.17.1, as well as ROM Manager
v3.0.0.7. At that time I did a Nandroid backup (selected: boot, system, data, recovery, wimax, & android_secure )
From there I left it as a stock ROM with the following:
Hboot 0.97.0000, Build # 3.29.651.5,
Android 2.2
Baseband Version: 2.15.00.09.01,
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.15-ge2fb08e [email protected] #11,
Software : 3.29.651.5,
Hardware Version 3,
pri version: 1.77_003
prl version: 60671
Now I haven't really followed all of the ROM tweaks, variants, and developments over the past year. The evo is starting to get a bit sluggish...so I figured an update and a change would be good...I plan on going from STOCK to current stable cyanogen.
I think that I could restore the apps and such with titanium (if I ensure that 'system data migration' is enabled) however I would think that it would be best to start off fresh....
I would like to keep my text messages.
I have been scouring cyanogen forums, xda, and such... there is alot of conflicting/not updated information. I am probably over analyzing, just being cautions.
Question 1: should I have to update ROM Manager, Busybox, or AmonRa? (they are same version from when I rooted) <my guess is no, but I am unsure if there is some major bug that was fixed, especially with respect to AmonRa>
General Order:
1) follow instructions per
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...ated-07-august-2011-now-kernel-info-included/
(perform another nandroid backup, wimax keys backup > and make a full SDCARD backup to the PC > Flash Cyanogen > flash GAPPS > flash GPS fix > flash latest radio/wimax/pri/prls)
I have titanium pro, but there settings seem a bit overwhelming.
Once I flash cyanogen & radios...
Question 2: what is the best way to restore my texts?
I was thinking the following:
- First - delete all folders on sdcard except nandroid / TitaniumBackup
- Second - sync google contacts/calendar
- third - go to the market and install appbrain to re-sync applications that I like
- fourth- use titanium to restore text messages com.android.mms-FILENAME.properties (and .tar.gz)
Question 3: I am assuming that this is the only file required to restore my SMS/Text messages, am I correct?
or does cyanogen use a different application?
Question 4: is there anything critical that I am missing?
Thanks for your time
Qu1nn

Apps are fine to be restored with Titanium, that's what it was made for. System data, no. NEVER backup and restore system data between different roms.

Always update is there are updates available. 99% of the time, updates only make things better.

Pretty much. Put rom zip on root of sd card, boot into recovery, make a Nandroid Backup, wipe data/cache/dalvik, flash new rom, reboot. I'm almost positive the cm7 zip comes with gapps, you shouldnt have to flash those separately. Radios can be flashed anytime.

Again, SMS Backup and Restore. Simple app, one click to backup and one click to restore.

You dont need to delete things off the sd card unless you need the space. And you can use Titanium to backup and restore texts, but not if you are switching from a Sense rom to an AOSP rom.
Just start off fresh and forget the messages. Latest amon-ra is 2.3 and get rid of rom manager

None of the CM zip files, atleast none that I have ever flashed, come with gapps already bundled together. I've always had to flash them separately. Also, reflash your kernel after flashing your radio. Some people say this is a must and some people say its all hoopla. I always do it just to be on the safe side.

You don't need to delete anything off of the SD card but you do need to make a backup of your SD card beforehand. The very first time I rooted and flashed a custom ROM my entire SD card got wiped out somehow. I'm still not sure why since flashing a ROM doesnt write to the SD card. Either way, I lost everything that I had on there before. I've been doing incremental backups of my SD card ever since. Again, better safe than sorry.
I have Titanium Backup PRO and it works fine but is a pain.
When I say its a pain, its because when I flash new roms multiple roms per day, I always need to install the gapps and then go to the market and download the Titanium Backup app and the licence for the Titanium Backup PRO to work with a single click restore. Then I must wait till all apps are restored and then reboot. Takes about 20 minutes. I would like this time to be shorter and a simple install right after the rom is installed like a .zip install within the clockwork mod recovery just like the .zip for the gapps.
Is there a way to take the apps from Titanium Backup PRO and the system data and make them a .zip so I can flash them in Recovery mode?
Even if you cant do the system data, is there a way to have a .zip that I can install in CWM Recovery mode?
Any help for this is greatly appreciated.
This can be done but there is a app called apo2zip not sure how it works on jb though

titanium backup pro allows you to create a flashable .zip that will install titanium backup as either a user or system app (your preference). you can flash it after your rom, boot up, restore your pro key then do a batch restore of all your apps. cuts out a bit of the hassle.

Don't know of any tool that will convert TiB backups to cwm flashable .zip. However, you can create an update.zip of TiB itself within the app, which can be flashed using a custom recovery. Saves your from the hassle of signing in with your google account and downloading plus installnig TiB + pro key from the play store before you can use it.
BTW: flashing multiple ROMs per day? Talking about heavy usage.
Yes this is what I was looking for. Just didn't know how to do that. Didn't know titanium backup pro did this option.
I have roms I like and those that work on some things others don't. I love the cm10 but also the aopk rom. Then on Sundays I need ICS so the Verizon NFL app will work. I use about 10gbs a month.
Is there any possiblility to make all our user apps into a zip file which can be flashed after installing a new rom.?

yeah you need titanium backup pro for it.
titanium backup can backup user apps but for making flashable zip you need pro version(paid) for it.
Hi people i have installed one custom room in my s6 edge and i want the stock SMS app again but i dont know how to download and intall anyone can help me?
This can be done only if you have previously taken backup of system apps or entire rom , if not than you can reinstall official rom flash it through odin then take backup of all system and after installing custom rom you can install some app from backup created secondly you can search for system dump on google for this device model..
