Just use .zip of my CID ? that's it ? i'm thinking of RUU method so i can get back to full stock , no root , no nothing.. this way i can know if it's a hardware or software .. cuz it was working perfect

There are stock too Yeah download it..Then restore it flash boot.img and recovery.img from backup and that''s it

so i download the proper .zip of my CID , flash it , flash it's boot.img ( where to get it ? ) and the recovery.img ? ( which one ? i'm on cwm touch , but using it with vol. up and down. )

When you download .zip..Extract it using winrar or something like that..Then from backup folder copy boot.img and recovery.img to your fastboot files directory on PC..Put backup on phone restore it..And in fastboot flash those two images

And then normally flash the .zip as if it's a normal rom ?
Thanks mate ! imma try that
this sends me back to factory rom right ?

Dude..Read..You only have to extract backup folder from zip..And then you can delete .zip file

Read the OP of the collection of nandroid backups it's all described there.....we can copy and paste it here if you like
And a ruu does not exist for that number. The only way to go back to stock is with a nandroid backup from that collection thread.

[Q] HTC One X - Installing JB OTA update with Clockworkmod

Greetings and Kudos to All the XDA Family, you guys rock!!!
I had just received my Jellybean OTA update 4 days ago (finally!!!) and a friend (who supposedly knew how to deal with Android software as this was my first android phone) told me that I should root my HOX since that would give me more control blah blah...
So I take him up on his offer and (u guessed it) he basically screwed up my HOX and stuck on the HTC quietly brilliant post screen.
In a nutshell and basically getting a crash course in disaster recovery over the last 4 days, here is the current situation:
1- Fastboot getvar all returns:
version: 0.5a
version-bootloader: 1.39.0000
version-baseband: 5.1204.162.29
version-cpld: None
version-microp: None
version-main: 3.16.415.4
serialno: ?????????????
imei: ??????????????
product: endeavoru
platform: HBOOT-T30S
modelid: PJ4610000
cidnum: HTC__J15
battery-status: good
battery-voltage: 3781mV
devpower: 37
partition-layout: None
security: on
build-mode: SHIP
boot-mode: FASTBOOT
commitno-bootloader: None
hbootpreupdate: 2
gencheckpt: 0
2- I have managed to find:
STOCK OTA zip file for my CID ver: 3.16.415.4-2.17.415.2
STOCK RUU ver: 3.14.401.31
I have no problem locking\unlocking loader (did the htcdev exercise).
When I try to use the RUU file it goes for about 4 min and then returns with Customer ID error and quits.
I used Clockworkmod 5.8.4.0 to copy the OTA file to my SD card no problem, when I use the install zip from sdcard option (after disabling both the signature verification and script asserts) I get:
file_getprop: failed to stat "/system/build.prop": no such file or directory
E: Error in /sdcard/OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_ARA_3.16.415.4-2.17.415.2_release_304331jrfus698taf4vm1x.zip
(status 7)
installation aborted.
I have put in over 20 hours into this over the last 2 days, HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!!!!

You need to be locked to use a ruu:
"fastboot oem lock"
Also run ruu as admin.
If it fails, I recommend you to restore a stock nandroid backup because it is a fairly simple procedure.
Download the appropriate backup here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
Then place it in /sdcard/clockworkmod/ and restore the backup in cwm.
If it doesn't boot that means your friend also messed with your boot.img.
I will give further instructions once you tell me if it boots.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Download this nandroid backup
http://d-h.st/y9S
then copy it to the phone via the recovery, the folder should look like this
Clockworkmod\backup\*time and date folder*\*backup files from the nandroid backup
then copy from the nandroid backup folder the boot.img file and copy it to the fastboot folder on the pc
now put the phone in the bootloader/fastboot usb mode
open a commandprompt inside the fastboot folder (right click in the folder and open commandprompt here)
then type
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
then you enter the recovery and do a FULL wipe of everything except the sdcard
then tap the backup & restore button and restore the nandroid
Reboot and enjoy,
Ow and forget about that full ruu, that one will never work because it is not for your CID......
^ Here we go again.

What I'm trying to do (actually not very much) is just updating from ARHD 9.9 (ICS) to ViperX 3.7.0 (JB). From what I read I should have two alternatives:
1) Updating hboot to 1.33 and then flashing ViperX 3.7.0, but I don't know for which damn reason it gets stuck at the flashing part (fastboot flash zip firmware.zip). I know that u would suggest to enter the command again, be patient and pray, but the point is that it gets stuck at [Sending....] for hours until i close it...
2) Restoring the stock rom and update hboot with OTA updates...and here, i'm quite confused. First of all, I'm not sure about which RUU i should use. Second...what's the main-version number? From what i read, this number should be lower than the one in the RUU, shouldn't it? Mine is 4.28.707.10 and it seems to be high for almost every RUU i download... I tried many RUUs and they give me errors like 140 and others as well. I'm just really confused and tired...
Can you please help me?
(bootloader) version-main: 4.28.707.10
I could only find one person who reported with this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2108580 and it seems it didn't help...
Do you take a nandroid backup of your stock rom?
Thanks man...
If i had a nandroid backup, i wouldn't get so crazy in looking for the right RUU i guess :crying:
And yeah...I bought it in China Shanghai, but in a kind of grey/blackish market  It probably comes from taiwan or hong kong...
isn't there any way to lower your main-version?
Nope, lower mainversion requires SOFF,
Very weird mainversion, I would suggest returning to a "stock"-Custom ICS ROM and restoring your stock recovery then contact HTC about JB upgrade, i think they might charge you if they find out you are not on stock rom.
try this command: fastboot oem readcid, i wonder which cid got that software
Dont bother trying RUU's or firmware.zip that dont have matching (or higher) mainversion.
Hi Vcek, thanks for the help, but I'm really noob...can you explain me better the things that i should do?
What do you mean by 'returning to a "stock"-Custom ICS ROM'?
This is what i get with the command fastboot oem readcid:
C:\apps>fastboot oem readcid
...
(bootloader) DEBUG: cid: HTC__621
OKAY [ 0.125s]
finished. total time: 0.125s

He bought his cell from grey / black market, so even if he returns it to HTC, I doubt it's gonna come under warranty as it was not purchased legally.
As i told u, i tried to update the hboot by flashing the firmware.zip file (with hboot 1.33)...unsuccessful (stuck at [Sending..] ..do u know which could be the reason? There must be a solution! Am i stuck to ICS foverer? :crying: What does the version-main number mean?

You can not flash a firmware with lower base... You can't downgrade on a S-ON device...
Since your base is 4.28xxxxxx the only chance you have in updating your device, is to go full stock with a 4.28xxx nandroid backup and then update OTA by software updates in phone settings... However, you can't because you didn't take a nandroid backup to begin with and your version-main is really rare so there's no nandroid backup for it in the nandroid backup section...
For your cid which is HTC__621, nandroid backup is for older version-main: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0PPYfhK8ynbTi1JaS1KUGxfSVU/edit
You can try to restore it, but I doubt it will be of any help... However, give it a try and lets hope for the best!

Put all files in /clockworkmod/backup/28-05-2013/ or if the backup already has the folders, just put in the respective ones...
Make sure you have a different rom.zip file so that if this doesn't work, you can install a rom instantly so that your phone works for the time being
Put boot.img in fastboot folder... flash the boot.img via fastboot and then fastboot erase cache... go to recovery and wipe data/cache/dalvic and then format system... Now go to restore and backup and restore the nandroid you just copied in the clockworkmod backup fodler... REBOOT!
Again, I'm not sure this will work as the version-main is lower in the backup, however, you don't have any other choice!

[Q] efs and IMEI messed up, HOX endeavoru

Hello! I've tried various places but can't find a soloution so:
I successfully rooted and flashed my HTC Once X International with AOKP ICJ 4.2.2 a while ago. Few months later, I decided to try the ViperX rom but ran into some problems. After wiping, flashing the boot.img with the Venom Flasher and successfully installing the new rom, I had no service and was "stuck" in Airplane mode. I found out that my IMEI is blank and that my efs folder is also gone. I have a stock root nandroid backup but it does me no good with the missing efs folder and IMEI. I am using TWRP v2.4.0.0. since that's the only version that gave me touch control. I have no backup of the efs folder as I was not even aware of it's existence until today.
I am really sorry if this question has been answered before but I could not find a solution no matter how hard I searched. What do?

First, make sure your phone has same cid, otherwise flashing incorrect rom will cause more problem.
The steps are as follow:
- Identify your cid and find the correct stock rom (latest update)
- Unlock bootloader
- Flash custom recovery (twrp, cwm, philz)
- Boot to recovery > Mount sd card and copy rom (zip file) to sd card
- Flash stock rom and boot.img (follow rom instruction carefully)
- Reboot and it should work.
If you dont know any of the above steps, please search the forum for details. You can also raise question here, I and others will try to help at soonest.

My phone bootlooder is locked and s-off.......
Also my phone software no.is Software Number : 4.19.707.3........
THNXX in advance
What am I doing wrong here ????
That's an ota file and not a rom. Don't flash the ota like that, only the firmware from within. And you don't need to flash the firmware because you are already on that firmware. And why not restore your stock nandroid backup ?

Noob question.......to flash cwm recovery also need to unlock bootloader ??? ( kinda new about htc phone btw )
Yes unlocked bootloader is needed to flash.
Flash the boot.img from the nandroid backup, flash the recovery.img from the nandroid backup. Copy the nand to the sdcard (in unpacked form to the right folder) and make a full wipe in recovery and restore the nandroid backup.
EDIT : S-ON....yeah thought so
Well kinda late to reply......busy btw.........
Ok just follow your given guide
But step step no.4-5 I kinda not understand
1- Go into Recover (CWM) and Mount USB
2- Now From your PC create a folder in the root of the storage and call it "clockworkmod"
3- In the "clockworkmod" folder create another folder named "backup"
4- Extract the .zip file in that folder (do not change the name of the folder extracted cause it could give md5sum problems)(also the folder name must not have any space between words)
5- Before continuing on the phone, open that folder from the pc and copy the boot.img in the folder that you prefer
6- Reboot phone into Fastboot mode and flash the boot.img by typing
Code:
CWM NAND: fastboot flash boot path/to/boot.img
Ok I copy boot.img file to fastboot folder and typing those fastboot command but ended up like this :-
c:\fastboot>fastboot flash boot path/to/boot.img
error: cannot load 'path/to/boot.img'
Kinda confuse here.......
Also I want to revert to stock recovery as well but kinda confuse which one for my phone.........here`s my phone info :-
c:\fastboot>fastboot getvar all

That`s all............
The nandroid backup is zipped to share it easier on xda. You have to unpack it.
Put the boot.img in the same folder as the fastboot.exe file is and open the command prompt in that folder.
Then type the commands
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Just that command not a path to in it......

Any other opinion ?
Send for warranty is my last resort ? ( kinda hesitate to send it back becoz of relock bootloader )
If you are on full stock with a full wipe. There is not much more to do than that !

YUP...........doing everything.........
ALready factory reset.........maybe app related......see what happen next
Ke, keep me posted
Hmmm..........after factory reset it still the same.......sometime when I boot to bootloader screen it show security warning.......sometime it doesn`t.........
FYI after doing nandroid backup I also flash stock recovery.....download from this :-
http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.php?file=endeavoru_recovery_signed.img
AFter that relock bootloader.........
HArdware issue maybe ???
So you resstored the 4.19.707 nand clean. And is the stock recovery the right one. Don't think so because of the warning.
Make sure it's a matching stock recovery. Unlock the BL and flash the recovery.img from the OTA.zip

AFAIK as at today, there is no RUU for H3G, only nandroid backup available.
Give more details of your device, post result of fastboot getvar all (minus the serial no. & imei no.)

I'll let @ckpv5 take this one as he knows a lot more about restoring backups, etc. I think he's in bed at the mo so he'll chime in when available. Should be quite easy to fix, though
the thing is that . my m8 is getting restarted very frequently . If i delete any of the data or apps keeps comming back after the restart . and any setting changes too reverts even devoleper mode and usb debugging . I tried factory reset , erasing cache , tried rooting but everything works but after selection of yes , the phone boots into recovery mode and then restarts , and root is not activated . i tried flashing through fastboot , but says signature verify failed. i tried devunlocked RUU but it stops at (0/7) . When i somehow connected through usb debugging to my pc ,i took a look at the system root folder using Wondershare MobileGo software and i saw some odd files which says in details "bestsavesforyou" . As i am not rooted , i couldnt delete it . For the truth im no expert in android .. i took the phone to service centers but they said that the phone is from UK and they dont have firmware for it . Can you please tell me what to do .....
i tried ruu : RUU_M8_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_4.16.401.10_Radio_1.25.214500021.06G_20.68.4196t.01_F_release_417003_signed
and it passed (0/7) and all but showed _ ERROR [131] customer id error.

You can't use RUU that is not meant for your device. As mentioned earlier, there is no RUU available for your device but I do have nandroid backup for 2.22.771.5 here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55322461&postcount=1897
The best that you can do now is wipe everything in your device and restore the nandroid backup. On top of that you can do OTA up to the latest lollipop 4.20.771.2
The question is do you know how to use a nandroid backup to restore your device ?

Ahh.. you're in India now, right ? Your ISP block the site. You need to use VPN to get through it. If you want me to upload it somewhere else, it will take time as I don't have fast internet.
To be honest, I'd factory reset the phone and S-OFF with Sunshine and then use the RUU to get it unbranded. A lot easier in the long run

I can tell you, no problem. But before that, do you have TWRP recovery installed ?
If yes, you can boot to recovery, select mount system, data, microsd. Then use its File Manager to browse the system root and delete that "bestsavesforyou" file. Also browse to sdcard to delete it too and anywhere that you that file in your device. See whether this can fix your problem.

No need. Just install TWRP. You don't need root when in recovery.
