I am not sure if this is wide spread knowlege or not, but thought I would share in case there are those out there in my shoes. Until just recently I have not had LTE on any D2LTE rom so I have been sticking with older builds. Recently I flashed a D2LTE rom. I went into my APN settings and changed it from "ATT" to "ATTLTE". As soon as I did that my LTE kicked in. I was running an older bootloader with the latest modem. Hope this helps.
Even after switching the apn I still need to use the LTE toggle once in order for LTE to kick in. Happened on both Quantum and Pac rom.

tried it once without any luck. going back to stock telus ROM at the moment.
has anybody had any success flashing an AT&T modem onto an i747M?
i am using the telus variant
edit: reason i wanted to do this was b/c i was getting some consistent signal drops. after having to go stock telus -> CM10 nightly (8/20), i'll see if i'm still getting any drops. that was the reason i wanted to use an AT&T modem, but if the issue doesn't come back i'll withdraw my inquiry

I'm using 8/18 and I'm not having too many issues. CM has been my daily driver for 2 weeks. I'm on telus as well. I haven't tested LTE, but once I'm back at school I'll figure it out and make sure everythings working smoothly.

CM10 8/20 nightly works great, i'm not getting any of those signal drops i had from before. maybe the phone just needed a full wipe. anyway, i'm not too curious about flashing an AT&T modem anymore. it would be nice to have a choice of modems, but that's definitely the lowest on my list now that there aren't any drops
I am using the LLE8 stock Bell modem even though my firmware is the latest ATT LH1: I did attempt to flash the full LH1 leak including the modem, but lost my IMEI in the process. Seems the modems do not play nice across different carriers, even when the phone is an I747 -- the developers then removed the modem out of the firmware package and the LH1 release installed without any issues. So my experience is that the ROMs are quite compatible, ATT to Canadian users, the source code for the kernel is standard across all SG3 phones according to the developers and the experience of people using kernels irrespective of carrier designation BUT the modem (baseband) does not appear to be cross-carrier friendly. So until a fix is developed and/or one of the Canadian carriers updates their firmware, we are stuck with LLE8 or its equivalent..

yep. i came to the exact same conclusion. i'm not too worried about it; phone takes a few seconds to hop on to LTE where i am, but no big deal
So decided to flash CNEX's 4.3 rom to my GS3 since then I haven't been able to get an LTE connection now using CM11 updated my APNs with APNs I have used before (ting) still no LTE (and yes....LTE is available for me).
Dont know what else it could be but the sim is shot did a wipe and full fresh install for both CNEX(4.3) and CM11
Is their something Im missing
I bought a used ATT I317 for use on T-mobile network. Just got everything set up, had to flash the J2 modem in order to work around the unlock. Without any further tinkering, it looks like I am getting access to the 4G network via notification (no indication of access to LTE) but getting highest speeds of about 10.25 Mbps down 2.5 up, and lower speeds of 3 Mbps down. I'm wondering if an updated ATT modem would remedy this problem or if I should get a T-mobile based ROM and flash the updated T889 modem to it?
Many of the posts I have come across are older and I believe before the tower integration. Not sure if it is necessary to go further in modem modification or do the AWS band work around. I have my phone rooted and plan to try out different ROMs, especially cyanogen and DittoNote 3, would it work better for me to access the T889 bands from variants of those, or other ROMs?

yeah first do the latest modem and then the aws mod.
because each time you flash any kind of modem you need to re do the mod
Ah okay thanks. So I should put the latest ATT modem on there and with the AWS mod it should take care of all of my 4G and LTE issues? Then on top of that I should be able to flash any ROM without issue?
Do you happen to have a link to the latest i317 modem?

is the UCUBMK6 the current i317 modem? and will the CWM file work on TWRP? (i317-cwm-ucubmk6-modem.zip, from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589891). If its not current, I haven't been able to find whatever is the most up to date modem

yup this the latest and it should work with twrp
Hi all,
I have two Boost GS3 that I have rooted and loaded CM11 on and am having issues with LTE on one even though I have updated the APNs and have tried different roms. The only difference between the two is one is running baseband L710VPUCNJ3 (LTE works on this one) and the other is running L710VPUCNDC (3G only). Not sure what else to do. It's funny because LTE worked on both of them shortly after I rooted and flashed but my phone lost that ability at some point. MMS works and I can not change the APN on my phone as nothing shows up. I think it might be worthwhile to upgrade the baseband to the same NJ3 version but I am having trouble finding it.
Any ideas? Any help with this would be appreciated!
I recently flashed my triband L710T to Team OctOS's 5.1.1 rom. I had to manually add the RingPlus APNs that I found on another thread. Right now I only have 2 APNs setup- one for LTE and one for EHRPD. Everything seems to work fine... LTE and 3G data, though I have not tried MMS.
Now, I had downloaded an RingPlus APN fix for 4.4.2 which I never flashed. I looked into the settings it uses and I found that it adds a total of 7 APNs. There are a few OTA ones which I don't currently have setup. Do I really need these? What do I not know I'm missing?
Not sure. Could you post up your APN settings?
