I am currently on IceColdJelly final version and its boot.img which I have no touched for a while. Now I really wanted to switch to KitKat AICP 3.0 However I could not flash the new boot.img, it just says sending boot.img and never finishes. Nothing is really getting done because I can interupt it, restore m old rom and it boots perfectly.
I can flash the new recovery required for KitKat ROMs, I just can't flash the boot, any ideas?
Erase cache..
Fastboot erase cache
Reconnect your phone and try again..
If that doesnt help remove drivers, restart pc,install them again..

before flashing boot img did u use command fastboot erase cache
and after that before installing ROM did u perform full wipe, erase cache and dalvik cache
after installing ROM u have to immediately install GAPPS before first bootdid u flash them?
Yes, I did.
What is the next trick? Do I need to reflash?

Try another 'fastboot erase cache' in the bootloader and see what happens. If still a bootloop, then post the EXACT steps you took when trying to get the ROM loaded
I've flashed ICtazz rom with sense 3,6 - the RC2. But when I boot, I stuck at HTC logo. I did full wipe and aroma wipe, then flashed again, but it still stuck! Anyone can help?
Go into advance and wipe everything

Are you installing the new ROM uploaded yesterday or the new new ROM uploaded today?
You may need to re-wipe everything.
If you have an S-ON phone then you need to put fastboot in an un-zipped folder of the ROM and do the following commands:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot boot boot.img
ive just installed this rom from here using cwm
http://www.androidauthority.com/one-x-android-4-0-4-slim-ics-custom-rom-99065/
the rom installed fine but is when reboot it is stuck in a boot loop.
The problem i am having is that CWM wont mount into USB for me to load another rom.
Any suggestions???

I think this should be in the Q&A section
Having said that, did you flash the boot.img via fastboot on your computer (fastboot flash boot boot.img)? Also did you use the command fastboot erase cache? If not, try those

And it was the boot.img you took from the rom download from the zip?
You go on cmd if you're windows, navigate to your fastboot folder
Type...
cd c:/(directory of your fastboot folder)
Mine would be
Cd c:/android
Then type
Fastboot erase cache
Ensure your device is in fastboot USB mode in the bootloader first.

First and foremost upgrade to latest cwm 5.8.4.0 as earlier versions have usb mounting and charging issues. Once upgraded you can copy your desired rom and then flash.
In your steps, I didn't see flashing the boot.img that comes inside the rom.zip file. You should flash it using fastboot from your pc with
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
Before you boot your ROM. Otherwise, since cwm can't flash it, you will be booting whatever kernel is already installed.

Yesterday unlocked via HTC dev. The through fast boot flashed twrp. That didn't work so well I couldn't actually flash any ROMs I could make a backup and I could restore. OK so I flashed cwm through Fast boot success however I flashed 2 ROMs one experia all seemed to work but WiFi was of no use I don't pay for service so that was obviously a no go. I flashed the ROM 3 times even re downloading it again. Ok so on to aokp flashed via cwm flashed jb gapps flashed boot.IMG via fast boot. Would boot up to start up then FC and reboot and boot loop at the aokp screen. Repeated numerous times getting various results.
Now I relocked boot loader and ran the ruu.exe and had to leave in the process it looked like it was booting hopefully when I come home it will be back to stock. Far from a dev so I am confused. I just want to try out some roms? Could this but a kernel issue? Recovery or something else?

first more info will get u more accurate advice ie.... build date of aokp.... last nightly is messed up use stable for best results. also the method of which u applyed these roms would be nice htc s-on is a pain so it requires a little diffrent prosses thin on other phones and diffrent strokes for diffrent roms
for wifi u have to reflash boot.img....
for FC and bootloops factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache....
download latest nightly and follow this------>
1. download rom and gapps, transfer them to root of SD card
2. extract boot.img(the kernel) from ROM zip,or whichever is compatible and place it in fastboot folder
3. go into bootloader, FIRST flash the boot.img in fastboot.
4. go into recovery, then FULL WIPE-factory reset, erase cache and dalvik cache.
5. then flash the ROM.
6. boot into the rom.then again enter into recovery and then flash gapps.
do the above steps in the same order all over again....it should work...:fingers-crossed:
If I am not mistaking I used the latest stable build of aokp, and I flashed both roms through recovery using both CWM and TWRP and also flashed kernel using fastboot. Although I reflashed TWRP and flashed AOKP and all seems to be right in the world. right now in at the set up screen so far no freeze or boot loop and wifi is working. Consider this problem solved
And yeah S-on sucks!
Hi!

Boot to recovery, flash jb gapps, reboot
