before flashing boot img did u use command fastboot erase cache
and after that before installing ROM did u perform full wipe, erase cache and dalvik cache
after installing ROM u have to immediately install GAPPS before first bootdid u flash them?
Yes, I did.
What is the next trick? Do I need to reflash?

Try another 'fastboot erase cache' in the bootloader and see what happens. If still a bootloop, then post the EXACT steps you took when trying to get the ROM loaded

I need help for that issue. After restoring my old backup of the phone's stock rom in CWM, my phone freezes at the htc one logo.
I wiped out all the data before it going to backup and restore. Everything went ok, but the phone doesnt want to boot. Any idea?
Boot in the boot loader. See when the text run, it said wrong image or no image right, if have so like me :| not boot
My other issue is that I cant go into bootloader, dont know why, only in CWM, so im trying to reinstall the custom rom.
The stock Rom isn't working because you didn't flash the stock kernel
The steps you have to do are
Boot to bootloader(I had the same problem but try lots of times also ask god to help you and I'm sure it will work)
Then go into fastboot
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot reboot-bootloader
Fastboot erase cache
Then go into recovery
Delete cache dalvik system and data
Then restore nandroid backup
That's it your phone should boot normally

http://www.androidauthority.com/one-x-android-4-0-4-slim-ics-custom-rom-99065/

I think this should be in the Q&A section
Having said that, did you flash the boot.img via fastboot on your computer (fastboot flash boot boot.img)? Also did you use the command fastboot erase cache? If not, try those
Sent from my HTC One X
yep did flash the boot img
didnt to the erase cache
how do i go about doing that?

And it was the boot.img you took from the rom download from the zip?
You go on cmd if you're windows, navigate to your fastboot folder
Type...
cd c:/(directory of your fastboot folder)
Mine would be
Cd c:/android
Then type
Fastboot erase cache
Ensure your device is in fastboot USB mode in the bootloader first.

First and foremost upgrade to latest cwm 5.8.4.0 as earlier versions have usb mounting and charging issues. Once upgraded you can copy your desired rom and then flash.
In your steps, I didn't see flashing the boot.img that comes inside the rom.zip file. You should flash it using fastboot from your pc with
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
Before you boot your ROM. Otherwise, since cwm can't flash it, you will be booting whatever kernel is already installed.

I know that there are similar thread's on this forum but I didn't find solution anywhere.
A couple of days ago I rooted my htc desire hd (android 2.3.5). After that I tried to flash several custom roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1876127 ; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839004 ; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040). I entered recovery (btw I have clockworkmod 5.0.1.0), wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache partition and wiped dalvik cache. Then i installed custom rom. I rebooted my phone and it stuck on htc bootscreen for several hours.
If anyone has even some idea what to do, please post it. Tnx

no, tnx, i'll try that
Wait. The S-Off tool, AAHK, has been retired. You need to fastboot flash a EDIT: boot.img. Instructions are in post #7 of the the link in my signature. You need to do this each time you flash a ROM.
If you're s-on the procedure is to install the rom with whatever recovery you are using then you have to fastboot flash the roms boot.img
With s-on the boot.img cannot be flashed by the recovery.
Extract the boot.img from the rom zip and fastboot flash the boot.img from your pc
Hope this helps

Hi i have the exactly same problem. Rooted my stock DHD by easy root tool. so its unlocked but s-on(not that it should matter?)
I om on CMW touch from this forum and tried first to install Viper. but in aroma when i choose full wipe It stops in the installer and says innstall finish.
The only way it will install is to choose dirty install. then it installs but I'm stuck on HTC boot screen (the withe one)
I we tried to wipe cache. Dalvik. Factory. Mounted and un mounted everything. Different SD card. different CMW recovery, Fix recovery+++
Tried to find a versjon of ext4 zip that i can flash from cmw recovery i use now but havent found anything.
Iwe tried ruu but it says that it dosent support my rom.
Iwe gone back to ginger bread with android revolution 6.5.
But NOTHING helps nothing gets me past this F.......G boot screen.
My phone is bricked ? and I'm considering flushing it down the toilet =/
Coming from samsung and several years of flashing I always had ODIN to rely on if something went on.
This is my first HTC and it will be the last if i dont manage to fix this.
Please help me . and please explain it simple- to a htc noob.
Thanks
It Worked!!!

Are you sure you flashed the boot image and wiped everything properly (as described in most ROM's threads)?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
that problem will mostly occur if you are installling a rom in unclean way..
make sure you do superwipe and before flashing rom flash its boot.img and do- "fastboot erase cache" afterwards
then flash it from recovery

most of the people here know the procedures. give us information that will help you solve the problem. like is your phone already rooted. the steps you do when flashing. like what did you really do before that error appears. something like that.

yes my phone is already rooted . i have also taken the backup of m stock rom . i have tried to install custom rom for 3 to 4 times but every time when i installs custom rom and when i boot it the above problem occurs so i restore my system with the backup , and that original stock rom is working fine
for flashing i have followed this :
1) unlocked bootloader
2) rooted it
3) installed clockwork recovery mode
4) now transfer the custom rom into the internal memory
5) reboot phone into bootloader mode
6) select "recovery"
7) wipe data/factory reset
8) wipe cache partitions
9) wipe dalvik cache
10) install zip from sd card-->choose zip from sd card-->select the rom
11) select yes
12) after installing the rom reboot the phone
and when the phone will rebooted the problem occures when the ui of new rom appears

you do not need to root, flash custom recovery and unlock the bootloader everytime.
you did not flash the rom's boot.img. everytime you flash rom or kernel dont forget to flash boot.img. place the rom's boot.img inside your fastboot folder. then do the command:
fastboot erase cache.
fastboot flash boot boot.img.
then reboot.

yeah. you still have to that. extract the boot.img from the rom. place the boot.img inside your fastboot folder. boot your phone into bootloader. it you see fastboot usb you can now flash the boot.img.
open command prompt. navigate to your fastboot folder or you can just right click on the fastboot folder and select "enter comman prompt here" something like that. then enter this commands.
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash boot boot.img
that's two different command.

it does'nt matter it you flash boot.img before of after. but me i always flash boot.img first. because if you flash the rom first. you'll boot your phone to recovery then after you flash rom you'll boot to bootloader, where you will press power button + vol down. while if you flash boot.img first. after that just go to hboot then select recovery then flash rom. well that's just me. hehe.

Hello guys,
I installed an xposed module [http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.ssrdroide.navigationbarmusicvisualizer] and rebooted my M8 to activate it, and it went into a boot loop. I wiped dalvik and cache and all that, and I've even flashed the xposed uninstaller hoping it would get rid of whatever is causing the bootloop but alas, it is still in a bootloop.
Is my only choice now to flash the rom and start from scratch again?
Thanks!
UPDATE:
Also, I tried doing what http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-t...ules-causing-bootloop-on-your-android-device/ says and nada.

So I dirty flashed the rom and it's in a boot loop again... I guess I'll full wipe and flash now.
OK... I full wiped everything and flashed the rom but it's still stuck in boot loop... What's going on? Should I try flashing a different rom?
