The red outline was added to show what part of the tablet I'am talking about
If anyone has an nexus 7 2013 you see the shiny full black plastic that wraps around the tablet I dropped it smashing a little bit of the plastic off no actual damage but still is annoying.

Was playing around with an IR-thermal camera at work while my Desire was on charging. So next logical thing happened: I took a few pictures and thought of sharing them with you
(i just noticed that Date on images is wrong. This is because camera was set up wrong)
First up, front view. Using CM7 with LauncherPro atm.

Display (AMOLED) off
Back view. Note that i use a silicon cover that covers entire back, minus a small rectangular area around the usb port. Apparently this cover shields much of IR.
And finally, my rather cold coffee because i was too busy taking pictures of my phone
wow, very interesting, there would be much more red spots on my desire lol
I took my EVO 4G apart to replace the screen. While putting it back together on of the parts fell out and I'm afraid it may be forever lost is a bunch of clutter. I'd like to see if I can get a replacement part, but, I need to know what it is called. If I search on rubber I get all sorts of protective cases that include rubber.
The part is black rubber and looks like two joined rectangles. It is located just behind the USB port.
Here is a picture of the motherboard with the part I am looking for circled:

Does anyone know what this part is called, its part number, and where I might get one?
Thanks
Bought this (still in the mail) and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on the best fix? Parts are cheap but I've got 2 part epoxy, jewelry quality hot glue and super glue in my tool kit so I was wondering if anyone has glued one of these back together and how it held up?

I used superglue and it worked until it fell off of a counter.
High temp hot glue did the trick, I use this stuff to mount neodymium magnets, the only non perm way I've found that can hold onto those little suckers, and if you screw up you can hit with a heat gun and rework it..

I didn't actually think about them. Glad you got it fixed.
I bought a LTE tablet from Craigslist and discovered it had a tiny screen crack, that fully cracked when I tried to fix the non-responsive screen.
I put the motherboard on my wifi screen looking at the extra connector, but not thinking about it, the whole time I was doing it.
The tablet seems to get a quick GPS lock but it hasn't left my driveway yet.
Any chance anyone has used a LTE model without the back cover and can say what the GPS lock is like?
If it comes to it I can cut the GPS antenna and tape it in place.

Click to collapse
That has had pressure applied to it in those areas
Also, how many left hands do you have?
What snoozer said, it's what happens to mostly OLEDs when they crack, the liquid crystal oozes out... The panel is broken and needs to be replaced... It happened to my brother's Galaxy S5 after he accidentally dropped it
